They get good business here with a lot of patrons. This is some of the highlights. The Szechuan style "Water Boiled Fish 水煮鱼" taste very authentic and not too overly spic and definitely numbing. I walked into this restaurant and was completely ignored by the host staff. After waiting without acknowledgment, I seated myself and was forced to order through a greasy, grimy electronic kiosk that felt visibly unclean to the touch. Trying to make the best of the situation, I sat at the bar and waited for my food, only to be told afterward that I had apparently "ordered takeout" and was not allowed to eat there. At no point was I seated, greeted, instructed, or informed of this by any employee. Instead of hospitality, I was handed a bag like I was being pushed out the door. What made the experience worse was discovering the employee dismissing my concerns was actually the manager. Upon a recommendation from my sister-in-law, my family and I decided to try DD Dumpling & Hibachi in Jericho. Was it stellar? No. Was it decent? Parts of it. Walking in, we were greeted and asked if we were going to have hibachi or the regular menu. We weren't too hungry so we decided on having a regular table service meal. We ordered hot & sour soup, pork soup dumplings, pork and crab soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, stir fried string beans and chicken udon. Hot & sour soup ... 6.5/10 .. good flavor but lacking on the sour portion and a bit thin Pork soup dumplings .. 9/10 .. skin was chewy and soup inside the dumpling was very flavorful Pork and crab dumplings .. 7/10 .. barely any crab but dumpling with pretty flavorful Scallion pancake .. 8/10 .. very crispy and nice amount of dough and scallion ratio Stir-fried string beans .. 2/10 .. the string beans didn't have a good bite due to the fact that the string beans were old and wilted. There was also too much schezwan peppercorn in the dish. Stir fried udon with chicken .. 3/10 .. tasted good but way too oily for our taste. I, personally, like the waitstaff to be attentive but tonight's waitstaff was too attentive. Someone was constantly filling our water glasses. I know this all may sound like I'm being petty, but as a customer, I do like to have time to enjoy my meal and conversate with my family without being interrupted. I guess that's not horrible but to take three sips and have someone come over to fill my glass, it's a bit much. Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon for a fast snack. Sat at the bar and watched some NFL while slurping soup from chicken and pork dumplings. The soup was hot and with deliciously authentic and hearty seasoning. The dumpling skins had a nice chewy bite. If you have to choose, I preferred the pork. But, both were excellent. A side order of stir fried string beans with minced pork were fabulous. Veggies had the right balance of sear and snap. Seasoned pork and red chilis gave the dish an addictive bite of heat and crisped protein. Also ordered a steaming bowl of noodle soup. Not as much a fan. Huge bowl packed with shredded chicken and noodles. But, the soup needed a bit of salt or more seasoning like the soup dumplings. The noodles were abundant, but were generic, missing something I cannot pinpoint. Probably would not order the noodle soup again. However I would certainly return and try more of the menu; might give the hibachi a turn too, potentially upping to a 5th star. Nice selection of Asian beers. Accessible location with plenty of on-site parking. The airy open space, diligent service, and reasonable pricing make this a recommended try. read more

I've been here twice and I have nothing bad to say! Amy and Henny took care of me and my friend during our visits. They deserve a raise because their customer service is hard to find! I'm very happy they serve dimsum throughout their hours of operation because I don't know about y'all but I sometimes crave soup dumplings late at night! The restaurant is very clean, doesn't have a greasy/oily odor, and has wonderful and attentive staff members! The interior is nicely decorated. It can be loud at times depending how busy it is but the noise level is normal. You let the host know what you're going to order. Of course, I chose dimsum. Once you're seated, you order through the tablet on the table. The waiter will come and confirm and push the order through. I highly recommend their soup dumplings. They're quite delicious. If someone were to ask me to describe them, I'd say their delicious pockets of joy that pops in your mouth.. that can burn if you do that! Don't do that.. Eat them the traditional way. Their soup dumpling has tasted the same the both times I've visited (and ordered). I've tried their fried udon with beef (ordered) and I was quite impressed! If you love "mala", then you gotta try their dan dan noodles! It's not spicy at all if you have a good tolerance. Both of these noodle dishes weren't salty and seasoned perfectly. The scallion pancakes were good but I'll say their pancake slice with beef is even better! The pan fried pork bun is really nice as well. Now, I've gotta tell you about their lava sesame balls... they were EXQUISITE! Tasty. Flavorful. LUSCIOUS! We ended up ordering another serving! I don't do salted eggs because I'm trying to watch my sodium intake. This sesame ball was not salty at all! It had the perfect combination of savory and sweet. I really hope this isn't a seasonal item because my friend and I will cry. When you cut into it, the filling truly melts like lava. I love the concept. I enjoy the flavor profile! Not sure if it's because I came after 10pm to order but my Beef and Scallions should have been called Scallions and beef because my plate which I usually order as a regular customer came in light with the beef and heavy with the Onions. Last night was the first time we tried this restaurant and we will definitely be going back. We made a reservation and were seated right away - this place had a steady flow of customers throughout the night. We appreciated that there was a tablet on the table to order our food. It was great because we could order a few plates at a time. Once the orders were submitted, the food arrived quickly. We had a variety of dim sum including edamame, pork, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, shrimp dumplings and wonton in Szechuan sauce and everything was delicious. We did get the Belacan noodle dish which we were told would be medium heat/spice however all of us thought it was too hot/spicy so we'll try a different noodle dish next time. Came across this place and didn't know what to expect. I was genuinely surprised. When I first walked in I was surprised, it was a very nice looking restaurant inside. They separated the restaurant where one side is all regular tables and the other side was hibachi. Currently I have not tried the hibachi. I ordered many things off the menu to try and I must say most were very good. I did really like the soup dumplings. Very well made and delicious. I enjoyed the double cooked pork which is one of my favorite dishes in general and they really make it good here. Also I liked the fact that each main dish seems to include a bowl of white rice. The menu and placing the order was through a tablet which is nice. You select all the items you want and send it to the kitchen. Food comes pretty soon after so wait time is not bad. Born and raised in queens nyc, Long Island transplant as of recent. I love a good soup dumpling, but to find one on Long Island is abysmal. I saw this place advertised as having soup dumplings and I knew I had to try it. I got the chicken soup dumplings, the pork soup dumplings, and also a lunch special chicken and broccoli which came with a hot and sour soup. The chicken dumplings were good, not great. The pork dumplings were fantastic and delicious. Definitely skip the chicken and broccoli, to me it was bland and flavorless but the portion of chicken was generous. I don't like hot and sour soup, but I did try some, and I still don't like hot and sour soup lol. Definitely will come back when I need my soup dumpling fix! read more

This is me and my friend's first experience at this restaurant that made us decide that we will NEVER come back again due to POOR service and GARBAGE found in food. If you are interested in the story, here it is: So, we ordered a sesame chicken to share. When the food came up, I like to take pictures of food at any restaurant for "beli", another food rating app. So I removed the big spoon that came with the dish to take a picture, hence refer to photo of the entire dish of sesame chicken attached of the full sesame chicken. At this point, we did not realize that there was a garbage straw wrapper on the top middle of the dish as you can see in the photo. After I finished taking the photo, I placed the scoop back and we proceeded with our meal. After 20 minutes into our meal, my friend served a big scoop of sesame chicken into my plate AND the garbage that looks like a crumbled straw wrapper fell flat into my plate... My friends and I were so surprised. But we initially thought we accidentally dropped it in there. BUT THEN we looked at all the garbage on the table and could not identify any garbage resembling that or would produce that garbage. The only thing that it could possibly be was from the bubble teas that we ordered. However, the bubble teas have thick round bubbles called bobas, so they gave us the THICK straws in CLEAR wrappings. It was definitely not the white, skinny, and crumbled straw wrapper that you see below in the sesame chicken. At this point, my friends and I agreed to address this to the waiter before proceeding with our meal. It was really busy that night but the waiter agreed to replace our entree of sesame chicken and not charge us of the sesame chicken at all. The waiter was very understanding even though she looked super stressed, so we completely understood and agreed to the plan to resolve the situation. However, when it came to paying the check. We noticed that the tip was calculated based on our pre-discounted price instead of discounted price. And the tip calculated based on the pre-discounted price (including subtotal and tax) was still greater than it should be after we manually calculated what the values should've been based on the percentages (18% and 20%) to split the bill. When the waiter came around to finally swipe our card, we got to the tip page AND SHE PRESSED ON THE 20% TIP WITHOUT CONSULTING US FIRST and started peering onto the screen while we're trying to confirm. We were only a party of 3 so there shouldn't have been a requirement of 20% gratuity. When I noticed that, I clicked on the "custom" tips option on the screen and the waiter checking us out (different waiter that offered us the discount) VERBALLY objectified asking what are we doing and why are we tipping so "low." This was the first time we encountered such an experience where a waiter stopped us before paying and questioned us about our choice of tipping. That's when the other waiter who offered us the discount came by and explained the situation to the waiter that was checking us out. She understood the situation, but they continued to pressure us to tip based on the pre-discounted price (subtotal + tax, so essentially the taxed price). My friends and I were all very distraught and the feeling of being judged by the waiters who may not have believed our initial complaint at all. We eventually tipped a dollar less than their calculated version of 18% (even though the values were wrong) because we just wanted to LEAVE the restaurant that scarred us with so many bad memories and experiences. read more

Especially since you were ordering on an ipad, you never once had to talk to anyone. The order went direct to the kitchen but still, took extremely long. I'm sure they were working out the kinks and the restaurant was packed, but still. We were starving. They did realize and offered our kids a soda to help wtih the wait, but we just wanted to eat! We ordered a wide variety of items and everything was just mediocre. The soup dumplings, beef pancakes, chicken and broccoli, everything was basic. Nothing stood out, no bold flavors. Super disappointed as it was on the more expensive side and this really meant that there was one less asian restaurant option. Very nice staff, pretty slow to get anything, and all that for food that wasn't that great. The hibachi might be better, but we only got a table so can't speak to that.
