I really wanted to leave a positive review because the employees were polite and professional, but unfortunately my overall experience has been very disappointing. I've now spent over $500 in paint and materials trying to get a proper color match for my vehicle, including multiple attempts using their scanner/camera matching system on different panels of the car. Despite that, the final result still came out noticeably darker than the factory color. What made this especially frustrating is the amount of labor and additional expense involved on my end. I spent countless hours prepping, masking, painting, sanding, repainting, and re-masking panels, along with using up more masking materials and supplies each time another attempt was made. After all of that time and money invested, the proposed solution was essentially for me to spend several hundred dollars more to repaint and blend an entire side of the car. I understand metallic and gold colors can be difficult to match, and I wasn't expecting absolute perfection, but considering the amount already spent and the amount of work involved, I personally did not feel the proposed accommodation was fair. Again, the staff themselves were respectful, but based on my experience I would strongly recommend spraying multiple fully cleared test panels before committing to a full repair. read more

I've only had one experience with Meza, but I was referred there by the company that is doing the PPF and Ceramic coating on my Camaro. They told me that as part of the paint correction, they will touch up my little paint chips and it would be cheaper if I bought the paint myself. I called and asked questions and the woman I spoke to was very friendly and professional. She gave me questions to bring back to the company doing the paint correction. When I was ready, I went into Meza, let them know what I needed, gave them the code for my paint, and in less than 10 minutes I was on my way with four ounces of beautiful (orange) Crush paint in a can. THey were fast, professional and it cost less than I expected. The four ounces was $22. Great experience. Love keeping it local and supporting any local businesses in Escondido. Definitely recommend if you're looking for auto paint products! read more

Helpful staff and decent products. My only gripe is that I had to wait a week to have a spraymax can made up with semi-matched paint. I went to another supplier since. I have to hand it to this business. I was going to L & L Hawaiian yesterday for lunch when the owner of Meza saw my poor VW and the terrible damage done to it by the pillhead who hit me on my way home from Church last May. He asked me if I was interested in repairing and painting over the damage done to it. I said, sure, as soon as I can haul the guy--who is in rehab now--to small claims court and attach a lien to his business. I like the chutzpah businesses like this show, when they hustle unsuspecting women like me, in restaurant parking lots. If I had the money, I would have fixed the damage immediately, I told him, but the insurance companies wouldn't agree to it. Since my son & I will soon be moving up to North County, there is a very good chance I just might go give my repair & car repaint business to these guys. Their website says "Meza Automotive Paint serves automotive refinishers in Escondito, Vista, San Marcos, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Pala, and all of the North County and beyond." They also specialize in being a PPG Platinum Reseller. This means the staff has taken all the necessary training to become experts in PPG automotive finishes and the processes behind applying them. I've always been around dads/neighbors painting cars and stuff as a kid. And always really just wanted to do those funky 1960's through the 1980' funnycar/drag boat/customs paint jobs. But, here I am now mid-50's taking lessons and listening very closely to others. My experiences with Meza Paint have always been informative and pleasant interactions. I've painted our old Honda, my first pearl paint job fixing a fender bender in our towncar and just finished two-toning our 75 chevy dump run truck. Every project I've done has been completed far better then I expected (for driveway paint jobs) because of the advice, guidance and direction I've received from the boys at Meza Paint. These gentlemen go far beyond what I'd expect to not only answer my questions, make material recommendations and sharing application recommendations. I'm starting to venture into the world of candy and flake paint practice applications. The fine folks at Meza Paint sell me partial portions of products to use and learn with. This keeps my personal cost in check. I've never been treated as a "civilian" who's not a pro. I believe because I'm not a pro, they've taken the extra time neccessary to ensure my questions were answered and even shared scenarios with me I'd not thought of.
