I took my parents out for early Mother's Day meal! We always enjoy our time here since they have the freshest vegetables, meat, seafood, and other side dishes that are super delicious. We are regulars here and we never get sick of this place because there are so many different choices of ingredients for shabu shabu and soup choices that you can switch it up and taste something completely different each time! We went here for our weekly date night and we had a wonderful time. They had a variety of broths to choose from and the two that we tried were very flavorful for shabu shabu. The sauce bar was adequate and the non-meat bar was very impressive. The meats were cut extremely thin, but I didn't mind, the staff was always quick to take our order at the press of a button. Came here on a Friday night date night as hot pot regulars and had an overall pleasant experience here! I got the house broth, and found it average overall in flavor. The bar had a relatively diverse selection of toppings, though I found it catered more so to fish than to vegetables. There was a small smattering of premade food that I didn't try, but bf said the japchae was pretty good. Sauce bar and rice are also self serve. I did want to warn that we had better experiences with some meats than others. They do provide them in pretty small plates of thin cuts. While we really enjoyed the pork belly and beef belly, the ribeye fell very flat and kind of just tasted like plain ground beef when cooked. The lamb to me tasted odd. And because you have to finish your meat plates, we had to eat what we didn't like anyways. Bf tried the fish option and said while it was okay, it was thin and falling apart. Wait staff was kind and would come when the call button on the table was pressed. We were offered ice cream upon paying and it was pretty good! I liked the rib eye, beef belly, pork belly, and lamb legs. The meat is cut very thin and tastes delicious. I also enjoyed the octopus. They have a sauce station. They have soy sauce, Chinese BBQ sauce, and sesame oil, but they don't have Chinese black vinegar. They have the white vinegar that you can clean with (I did not like this in my sauce), but I really would like the black vinegar instead. read more

Finally tried this location of Manna (since the Plano location had closed) and overall enjoyed our visit. Everything was consistent with their Plano location in terms of broth and veggie station. The extra plus about this location was their ramen bar. I loved the variety of their ramen selection! The cuts of meat were sliced perfectly and good quality. I had a great first ever hot pot experience at Manna Shabu. The toppings were ample. I really love and prefer the buffet style of hotpot to the conveyor belt/ order at your table types. I had no issue with the heating elements. Interior was very cozy. They had the most fresh and delicious broth. The range of ingredients are always spot on, and I love the whole communal experience of cooking and sharing and experimenting at the table. They have like 5/6 broths to choose from. I ordered the miso one and it was good. They also have a sauce bar. The restaurant was not too busy, they have a two hour limit and although we had not kept ordering meat and going up to the buffet area, you could tell they were ready for us to leave. The waitress kept walking by and giving dirty looks. Until she finally came up and basically kicked us out. We had been there just before 2.5 hours so the time limit is VERY STRICT. The options of meats vary from fish, lamb, chicken, different cuts of beef, etc. Rating their broth: (5/5) Manna House Beef Soup Although I usually prefer spicy broth, their beef broth is the best imo as it has light yet very savory flavor that gets better and better as the broth evaporates and broth condenses. (4/5) Chinese Hot Pot "Huo Guo" This is my go to if I want more a little more spice and herbal flavor broth. One thing about Korean hotpot is that the broth is always kept light instead of bold like the Chinese style, so keep that in mind. Also it's not that spicy. (3.5/5) Tomyum A traditional Thai soup base with a sour and spicy taste. I will again emphasize what I said in the Huo Guo broth. My husband and I always went to Manna Kbbq so we wanted to try what the shabu was like and it was a great experience! They have so many Korean side dishes that were so delicious that I was getting full from it. They had varieties of Korean option were hotpot and their soup base was very light. But I was definitely wrong, I feel that the service got worse? We were seated when we got in, but when we finished our first round of meat we clicked the button 4 times (we waited about 5-7 minutes before clicking it again) before getting someone to actually come over to get our next order. Keep in mind it was a Thursday night and it wasn't as packed probably about 5 other tables. When we finally got her attention we got the meats, but some of my family needed more soup because we waited so long for the meats, and we clicked the button multiple times again (just like before, waiting a few minutes before clicking again) and no one ever came, we had to get up to go to a worker to ask them. Not sure why the service has gone so down, but probably won't be back again unfortunately, sucks because this used to be one of my favorite places for AYCE hot pot. This is me and my girlfriend's favorite hotpot place! The options from the cold bar as well as hot bar are excellent!! The service here is also wonderful, the waitresses are super sweet and attentive. The table cleaners are also very nice to make sure our plates don't pile up too high. I actually really liked this place! I got the house beef soup base and it's slightly sweet and rich. And the Tom yum soup base was a little light for me but still good. All the side dishes and fruits seem to be on a rotation which helps us from coming back. The services was decent and it can be a little slow during shift changes. This place is great! We decided to try it because it had the best ratings in Carrollton for hot pot. It's separate from the Manna bbq, so we didn't smell after. The manager was super sweet and made us feel very comfortable. The small bites were just okay, but the sauce, veggies, meat, broth were all really great. We all got the beef broth and a mixture of the 5 or 6 beef options. The sweet potato noodles are my favorite thing to get in hot pot and this place had the best ones I've ever had. Also really high quality wood-ear mushrooms. My wife likes kombucha squash and said it was great here. Ooh and free ice cream at the end. The strawberry ones have huge chunks of strawberries in them. That said, I came here with a couple friends that live in Dallas and we had a wonderful experience! I've eaten a lot of shabu shabu in my time, and the food here was as authentic as any. They had tons of options, there wasn't a single thing they didn't have that I was looking for that I'd had in other places (e.g. tofu skins, that one isn't common but they had it!). And of course given it's all you can eat, my friends and I left stuffed. It was a flat price, when we went I believe it was like $25 per person? That may be different now, but we felt the price was justified for the meal. I usually get the beef bone broth, but they offer about 4-5 different options for broth. The meat quality is also really good--my favorite cuts are the beef ribeye, the boneless short rib, the beef belly, and the fish filets. I do wish their sauce bar were a little more extensive and that their chinese bbq sauce (sha cha) were the bulls head brand instead of a knockoff/sweetened version but that's my only complaint! I went here for the first time last year with a friend and we had an amazing experience. the meats were all very good quality, great and quick service, etc. I visited again a couple weeks back with the same friend, and we were really taken aback by the awful meat quality. quite a few cuts of beef were so tough and extremely hard to chew and swallow -- we weren't able to finish a few pieces of meat, and the server pointed it out twice. I told her that the meat was too tough, but she wasn't very happy about it. I do understand the concern of wasting food because it is AYCE, but at the same time, there should be a standard. I have finally tried every shabu shabu place I could find in Cattollton and one in Lewisville and one in Plano. With that, I have to say Manna Shabu is my favorite! I moved here from Hawaii and back then when I finally got the chance to get an apartment near Wailiki (wasn't expecting that to happen), I just so happened to live from across from a shabu shabu joint on S. King St., and it was amazing. The only downfall was the pay-by-the-plate. But, the broth and atmosphere can make it perfect. I'm loving the AYCE here in DFW! We had AYCE Korean BBQ on Oahu, but not shabu shabu (at least in the early 2000s to teens, that I was aware of). First of all, let's get something straight. This restaurant has the best service in this country. Every time me and my dad finished our meat, at least 3 people came over to our table to ask if we wanted anything more to eat. Secondly, the food here is absolutely fantastic and consistent.
