I made an appointment and he took a lot of X-rays to make sure his assessment was correct. Nothing was wrong with my tooth. He could have done "whatever " and made $2,000, but he did not! Dear 209 Dental NYC, I have to share with you some good news…read morebut first the story that brought me to you. I have been struggling with denture care for the last 10 years. I didn't know it at the time but 10 years ago my teeth just started rotting and falling out! It was a nightmare that I could not understand. Nothing in my life could have seen this coming because I have always practiced good hygiene. In fact I loved my teeth. I would later find out that a medication that I had been taking was causing my teeth to decay. There is now a class action lawsuit in the works but needless to say being just a waiter with average health care this became an expensive nightmare. I needed to go to Turkey to have a full dental implant both upper and lower. While I was waiting to return to Turkey, the temporary healing denture broke into 3 pieces! It was beyond a nightmare and I couldn't even work without teeth. The 4 dentists I went to before your clinic were $350 or more needing x rays etc., only to say they wont touch it because it is a foreign implant. I cried in front of one dentist begging him to help me because the repair wasn't this unbelievable mountain to climb but rather a simple broken denture repair that could be done. But they wouldn't touch it for whatever reason. One told me to find a Turkish dentist here in the states who could help. At least the dentist I cried in front of reimbursed me half his $500 fee! On the verge of losing my job I stumbled upon your wonderful clinic and my path would cross with Dr. Yasmina Reddy. Yasmina looked at the denture and simply fixed it! I could have cried tears of joy (and I did). However, there was more to come. Yasmina's' fix only lasted for 3 days and she said this might happen but if it did come back Monday through Thursday because Ricky Moldova would be in the clinic to help. Well help he did!! Ricky and Yasmina teamed up and not only repaired the broken denture but added the back part back on again!! Now we were getting somewhere! As we were getting it to fit Ricky added this filler that makes the upper denture fit better than it ever has. I am not even sure I want to go back to Turkey for the permanent set to be completed because this top denture is removable, cleanable (which feels so good) and can be put right back on and it fits like a glove. Here are some additional points that made your clinic excellent. Your emergency appointment can be made the same day and is only $165. This price is not only reasonable but it's great. I did refuse an x-ray because I had a photo on my phone and instead of a horrible attitude I was met with an understanding smile. Kindness, fair prices, and an understanding staff. Whatever, you're doing keep it up! There is one thing I will mention that was not perfect and that was the minimum of $500 on the Carecredit card but that was a small price to pay for what I received from your great clinic. I want to also mention William N. and the receptionist (who's name I lost) but she handled the payment at the end. She was really sweet and kind about the Carecredit card minimum thing. Also, I never even had to wait for my appointments but while in the waiting room it is calm and pleasant. Most importantly you solved the problem. When I left I was talking with Yasmina and I was just being effusive with my many thank you's and she said something interesting which summed up her and Ricky's attitude and that was that she loved the challenge my case represented. And I can not be more thankful for that kind of attitude and effort. Thank you so much for putting together an incredible team, for charging excellent prices in a beautiful space and most of all for helping me in this horrible situation. I couldn't be happier. My first time trying a new dental office in years since I have a new insurance. Had a friend who…read morecame to this dental office and had a great experience so I thought I'd give it a try. Called to see if they accepted my insurance and they did and easily scheduled an appointment. Got to the office and to my surprise, the waiting area is empty! If you have been to any medical offices in chinatown, you would now it is packed all the time. Didn't even have to wait and was seen right away as scheduled. There was a dental assistant who took all my x-rays and if it is your first time, there is a lot! She was very nice and understanding and informed me that if I needed a break from the x-rays to let her know. After the x-rays, I was seen by Dr. Song. Dr. Song was amazing! He performed a gum analysis, oral and neck cancer screening that was touching the inside and outside of my mouth and the sides of my neck, and the tongue. Such thorough examinations for the first visit and worth the time for the examination and cleaning. Love that they gave goggles for me to wear because water always splatters for cleaning. Overall, an amazing experience and look forward to my future visits for my bi-annual cleanings.

There was paperwork, more than I expected or experienced but it was fine. Minutes later, I was called to the room for full set of xrays--bite wing and a panoramic view (sophisticated xray equipment with images taken while standing up). Took all of 2 minutes. My observation regarding space/rooms was mixed. There were several rooms but they weren't proper rooms with walls and a door. Their rooms were more open and easy to hear conversations and drilling separated by low partitions. My hygienist was unavailable so my new dentist was both hygienist and dental professional. She did an excellent cleaning job and checked in with me along the way to ensure I was doing okay. I felt she was knowledgeable and made recommendations without being pushy. Only thing is that I expected the oral cancer screening to be more thorough. In the past, I've had dentists who checked all around my tongue and underside while examining my neck area. Not this time to my dismay. Overall, my opinion was favorable and I would recommend this practice. Satisfied.

WONDERFUL DENTISTS - Sent me home for free after another dentist tried to scam me!…read more Very glad to have found genuine and honest dentists when so many in New York are complete scam artists. I went in for 6 fillings that another dentist told me I needed, only to find out that the fillings were unnecessary as I had no cavities! Full explanation: I recently had a bad experience at Expert Dental where they told me I had 6 cavities that needed fillings, two of which were so severe they likely needed root canals. Because my overall experience at Expert Dental was negative, I decided to do the fillings here at Tribeca Dental Design instead. The people at TDD were very helpful and friendly and were able to get me an appointment right away. I went in expecting a long and painful afternoon of 6 fillings for my 6 cavities, and hopeful that no root canal would be necessary. Turns out none of it was necessary at all! I should mention that the X-ray I got at the other dentist took about 15 minutes and was very painful. At Tribeca Dental Design they used the same exact machine but the X-ray was completely painless and took about 2 minutes. They also have private TVs set up right in front of the chair (like on an airplane) and they let me choose what channel I wanted to watch which was very nice. After the X-ray the dentist came in to look at my teeth. To my shock, he said that he didn't see any cavities. I was under the impression that I had 6 and would need some very expensive fillings. To be sure, he asked his colleague to double check and she came to the same conclusion: Zero cavities. They did not charge me for the consultation or the X-ray. Sent me home for free when I was prepared to pay $500+ for the fillings. Really grateful that I went here for a second opinion rather than listening to the first dentist who was happy to random drill holes into my mouth if I was willing to pay for it. Very very happy with my experience at Tribeca Dental Design and feel very grateful that they saved me from an expensive, painful, and completely unnecessary procedure.

WILL LIE ABOUT COPAY! DONT GO HERE! I was supposed to have a…read more$35 copay and they charged me $250! I had even called in advance to verify insurance and that I would have the $35 copay for the usual dental exam, which they had confirmed, and said nothing of the "required new patient exams" they would force on me. When I get to the appt, they start pushing for other exams that they say they "need to do for first time appts". I kept saying to please see if it was covered by my insurance before performing as I was not familiar with these exams, but they said I had to do these exams as a new patient. Then I'm hit with a $250 bill. I always get my bi-annual dental exams and this was the first time I was charged over my $35 copay. When I called my insurance on why the services weren't covered, my insurance said the dentist did exams that were above the normal amount they were supposed to do for annual exams. Essentially the dentist told me these exams were required for new patients and were covered by my insurance, forced me to get exams even when I said I did not want to, and then I had to pay an unreasonable bill for an appt that should have been a normal annual appt. They also try to push invisalign and teeth whitening.

Instead of addressing my questions, she ignored me, repeatedly walked away while I had an Aetna representative on the phone ready to provide the necessary information, and refused to speak with them at all. This behavior was unprofessional and made an already stressful situation even more frustrating. Speaking with an insurance representative to resolve confusion is the bare minimum when handling patient billing, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. I hope the practice takes this feedback seriously and improves the professionalism, communication, and training of their billing staff.
