Initial consultation - Dan and Xochitl came to our house, where we had in-person kickoff session. We walked around the property together, where they both carefully listened to how our ideas around how to the use the space, and indulged our numerous 'newbie' questions. Design phase - Xochitl took all our ideas and took a couple of weeks to think deeply about what our outside space could be transformed into. And, boy did she deliver! She and Dan unveiled their vision to us at our next in-person meeting, where Xochitl had drawn out a stunning illustration of what the final design would look like. We loved it so much, it's now framed an hung on our wall. You can talk about designs all you want, but it's only when you see it in front of you that the vision truly comes to life. Execution - The team indicated when they would be available to start our project (after finishing the ones they had already committed to), and they were true to their word. And when everything got started, it was a whirlwind until completion. I don't think there was even a single day where someone from the team wasn't on-site, pushing things forward. He provided a detailed, itemized quote at the on-set, and set out clear processes around payment cadence. That left no room for surprises. Dan immediately made the necessary changes, and gave us a clear update on how that might affect costs and timing. Repeat Customer, Repeat Rave I originally had Hill…read moreConstruction out in 2012 and install a long driveway (70-80 feet) that goes from narrow, to a double its width, and a short walkway from the sidewalk to my steps. My home was built in 1894 and this was a serious upgrade from crushed rock. The next year I hired them again to install a lovely path (about 50 feet) on the other side of my house. I let several years go by. About a month ago I realized that all the pavers probably could use a refresh, so I contacted Roger. He remembered my house and the projects. We set up a time for him to come by. It was a pleasure to see Roger again. We walked all areas, he looked at everything and he agreed that my pavers were overdue for a cleaning and refresh. Within a day he provided a very reasonable quote, letting me know he would schedule me once he got the necessary materials from the supplier. He assured me the result would be very pleasing with more depth to the color. Roger and his brother, Steve, arrived the afternoon of March 24th. A full afternoon of thorough cleaning, which left me amazed upon the end of that process. The 25th was a long, full day of very meticulous and detailed work. I swear that every single "grout" line looks like it was addressed. New sand was applied, not missing any joins or spots. Then 2+ coats of sealant. I was truly amazed at the outcome. Some pavers were replaced, everything up to the standards of Hill Construction and exactly what Roger promised. They take pride in their work, and it shows. I will be better on staying up on the routine maintenance, but now everything is set for several years! Happy to share photos and answer any questions.

We had the unfortunate experience of having our previous contractor abandon our substantial…read morebackyard project prior to finishing. This project includes several structural retaining walls as well as about 1400 sqft of paver patios. I called several contractors to try to finish the job, but most were hesitant to take on someone else's work. We had Roger over to give a bid, and I could tell he was also hesitant, but he was sympathetic to our situation and offered to quote the completion of the job including adding the capstones on the walls and complete the patios. He then made several recommendations on materials and was very energetic about the project. Timing was right and they were able to start pretty quickly. Roger and his guys were incredible to work with, they were on site every day, worked efficiently, and completed the entire project in just under 5 weeks. The previous contractor did a poor job with pouring the base concrete for the stairs, making them uneven, but this was not a problem for Hill Construction Company, they were able to make the finished project perfect. When it came time for the railing to be installed, Roger even referred me to an incredible railing contractor who was able to make amazing rails to tie the entire project together. After several months, the project still looks perfect, very high quality work with amazing attention to detail. Hill construction turned a nightmare project that we were dealing with for two years into the yard of our dreams. We cannot recommend a better guy and company, thanks Roger!!

They showed up every two weeks, did the work, and the lawns and garden looked pretty decent for a while. However, as the weather became drier this spring, they allowed the lawn and garden to begin dying due to lack of water. I rent out the property remotely, so I rarely see the lawn in person, and didn't know the situation. When I talked to the tenants, they told me they had been begging Maynor to adjust the sprinkler settings (which was part of our agreement), but he had taken no action. What is worse, though, is that once a month when he sent me photos of the property, he stategically omitted the big brown patch in our formerly beautiful front lawn. When I finally found out and asked him to do something about the lawn before I paid him for the month of April, he refused, and hurled a series of insults at me via text. He claimed that I was "scamming" him, called me a "miserable wretch", etc. This is not an honest or trustworthy business owner.
