Beef fried rice, egg roll, and crab ragoon. You get way more food than what's on this plate from a small portion!
    Naomi M.

Everytime I order from here, I get exactly what I want. Best crab ragoon!!!!! It's not fried hard with a teaspoon of filling. It's made right. For those who say it's too much filling, hey I'd rather have too much and get what I paid for. The beef was tender and not chewy in the fried rice. The fried rice was not greasy and I like that they can make any dish spicy. My egg roll, again made right, not greasy and enough filling where you can actually taste the veggies. I love their shrimp fried rice. They are well mannered, as this is one of the only asian establishments in this neighborhood that has employees who don't have attitudes, yell at you when you make a substitute request or roll their eyes when you ask for extra utensils or napkins. Delivery is fast and my food was hot when it arrived. This place is great!

The only redeeming quality of this place was that the food was delivered quickly. Apart from that the food was overall flavorless, with the exception of the crab Rangoons which were a bit overstuffed but tasty. The Szechuan plate with beef didn't really taste like anything at all but my god it smelled like a cross between a port-o-potty and a urinal cake. I said this aloud and my girlfriend didn't believe me then took a whiff. The sesame braised chicken also had a very peculiar smell and the taste was quite off. The food tasted very stale and was overall greasy. When I asked what rating I should give, one or two stars, my girlfriend responded with "well I guess if it's edible and we are eating it we have to give 2." So there you have it folks.

FINALLY! Great Chinese delivery in Hyde Park! Tonight I ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken, Crab Rangoon, Vegetable Chow Mein, Potstickers and Cantonese Egg Rolls. I was quoted a 60 minute wait time but had my food within 35! And everything was so good... and so authentic! The Crab Rangoon was stuffed to the brim with filling and absolutely delicious. The potstickers were also a knockout. The Chow Mein wasn't quite what I was expecting... it was mostly vegetables with few noddles but it was very tasty nonetheless. The egg rolls weren't my favorite, but the sweet and sour chicken was also really good. I'm so excited to have found this place and will definitely make it my new go to delivery!

Found a fly in my lo mein. Downgrading to 2 starts. Didn't even finish my meal and couldn't enjoy the rest of what I ordered. I probably won't be ordering from here again.

My wife love around the corner. We like this place for it service. My son doesn't care for their orange chicken. It seem good to me.

Lots of food for the price. Not the best food, but not bad. It's pretty good the next day, so good leftovers place.

Everything we ordered came out promptly, and the overall atmosphere had a fun, energetic vibe. The only drawback was that the restaurant was extremely warm inside. Our group was seated in a small corner, which made it feel even more cramped and uncomfortable at times. A little more airflow or a different seating arrangement would have made the experience much more enjoyable. That said, the quality of the food and drinks made up for it, and I would still return to try more items on the menu.

It is a moderately upscale place, but it is not somewhere I would go for an intimate experience. I eat a lot of sushi but didn't find their menu appeal for a true sushi eater. I decided to lean more into their cooked dishes as this side of the menu was extensive. The boa buns were huge and the buns themselves were good, but the pork inside was cooked. My friends really enjoyed their sushi rolls, but I've had a lot better. I also didn't too much care for my cocktail. Our waitress was good. She was attentive and accommodating and kind. I am glad I tried it as it is popular, but doubt I return.

Even if we don't consider its rarity, Da Local Boy is a winner in every category. The prices are very fair for the enormous portion sizes, the decor is fun and appropriate, the service is friendly, and food is phenomenal both in flavors and textures. The only possible criticisms are that the space is a bit small for how popular this spot gets, and the parking in the area can be a bit limited around popular meal times. The food here shines, making it worth a special trip -- both again for the rarity but also the quality. For me, the poke nachos are a must order item, just the perfect mix of large chunks of tuna with super crispy wontons, fresh avocado, and a good helping of sauce. Amongst friends, we've agreed that this is a must order item. The huli huli chicken is also unreal in flavor and texture. Besides being marinated and sauced well, the chicken is melt in your mouth tender while simultaneously having a delicious crisp skin. Think brick chicken, but with more flavor and a much better price. The rice and macaroni salad that accompany this are also well done -- and feel more like a core part of the meal rather than an afterthought. The grilled pork is pretty good as well, though I kind of wish it wasn't sliced as thin, as certain pieces felt a bit dry. The spam musubi with a light touch of furikake also provided a flavorful, fun dish to accompany the other delicious items I tried. Overall, delicious and consistently surprises me with the quality of the execution and bold flavor combinations. This is on my top places to visit in the area and has never disappointed.

The vibe is also awesome with a great reggae playlist and welcoming staff. Literally every single bite was so good but my favorites had to be the short ribs, chicken katsu, and poke.
