To begin, I usually am skeptical Asian fusion because Japanese is so different from Thai and I don't want nigiri with green curry. That said--Eto'o does it the right way! Dish integrity, but a nice variety of cuisines. I had egg rolls, Drunken Noodles and Tom Ka soup--three countries that have food that I love on their own. The egg rolls were pretty close to perfect, flavorful and crispy without being hard. The drunken noodles were really satisfying. My favorite, which I'm a little particular about, was the Tom Ka soup. The broth can either be either too sweet, too watery or just in general, not good. None of which applied here. The fresh ginger and the generous amount of chicken made this one I enjoyed a lot! It was a great cuisine escapade.

Food was very good. We ordered Larb salad, Pad Thai, Tom Kha soup and the pork special. The first three were gluten-free and the last was not gluten free and was for my son. he and my husband had gone to this little place a few months ago and really loved it so we decided to try it again. It did not disappoint. My only wishes are 1. that they mark more clearly on the menu what is gluten-free. I had to ask the waitress and she had to check with somebody and brought back a handwritten. it's great that they have that, but it would be nice to be more clear on the menu . A good thing was, that when she gave my son his dish, she made sure to remind me that it was not gluten-free and not to share it. And 2. that they find a way to not use plastic throwaway cups for drinks. Overall, our experience was very good. if you're not gluten-free, I think this would be five star. It's good food, not too expensive.

Tofu mushroom stuff that's so good
    Krystel M.

The food here is always solid, at least what I order. They have this tofu mushroom thing that is so good, it is so incredible, that I literally have to order it every time I order food from here. I don't know what they do to that stuff but oh my goodness.... I'm also always impressed by how fast the food comes, now granted I live about four blocks away, but when I order from there my food arrives in 20 minutes. Like at my door in 20 minutes. I don't really have too much bad to say, they have this salt and pepper tofu that's really good but sometimes it's like hella dry so if they ever want to improve on something I would be like, make that less dry, but at the same time it is the only tofu that I can get my brother's kids to eat and if it's not deep fried, battered, and used to moo ,squeel, or cluck they typically don't want to eat it. But they always smash my tofu!

A little hidden Hyde Park Thai ish gem. I have passed this place thousands of times on 53rd. I never noticed it! Until I was looking through Door Dash, looked at their menu and decided to give them a whirl! I ordered one of their most popular signature dishes.... Spaghetti Green Curry with Crispy Battered Chicken Spaghetti with battered chicken, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil leaves, green peas, carrots and green curry sauce. I know it sounds weird but it worked and it's enough for two. Their crab Rangoons are good. The fresh green onion really stands out. They also have a good cocktail drink called ...Lime on the Beach which is a Combination of punch syrup drop with the lime juice and sprite. They have some other good combo mocktails too. Their strawberry cream cake slice is good too. It's covered in a lightly sweetened whipping cream. Give this place a try they are a really good neighborhood hidden gem!

Roasted Chili Chicken. Took the chicken out no flavor
    Victoria H.

It's just ok. The roasted chili chicken was more of a soup like texture. The flavor was good but not enough to flavor the chicken. The chicken was bland. It wasn't that filling. Customer service was nice but doubt I'll be going back.

Good food, loved the portions size. Thai tea was also pretty good...not too sweet. Came in the middle of the day, so it was pretty and service was quick. Nothing too special about the ambiance and vibe of the inside. There's a good amount of seating for medium size groups and parking is on the street

The food was absolutely delicious and well priced! Thai iced tea was fantastic as well. The crab rice and coconut shrimp is a must try! Don't pass this place up!

    80. Pad Thai

This place seemed fine. The pad thai wasn't my favorite but the fried rice was really good. The egg yolk was still runny when it arrived. The pad thai could use some more sauce.

My colleagues and I ordered lunch from here. Everything on the menu looked delicious and we all kept changing our minds about what we wanted! After an hour, we made our final decisions on what we will have. I wish I took pictures of what they ordered, but as soon as the food came, they started eating. I had the chicken pad-see-ew and I added some spice to it. I am glad I ordered this because it was delicious!

Strawberry Shortcake (New Menu) Light, fluffy and delicious
    Alisha C.

Wow this is some of the best Thai food I've ever had in my life . I've gotten takeout twice and the quality has been consistently flavorful and perfectly cooked. This time I got the Thai salmon basil fried rice, mockumosa (passion fruit and mango sprite), and the strawberry shortcake. The Thai salmon basil fried rice was very flavorful and a really hefty portion for the price. I have too eat this in two sessions because it's a lot of food. The salmon tasted pan fried and had a nice teriyaki drizzle. I was salivating while eating this because it was so damn good. The mockumosa (passion fruit and mango sprite) tasted like what it would feel like to lay on a beach in Puerto Rico near a mango tree with the sand between your toes. It was tropical, fruity, sweet and mildly tart all in one sip. The strawberry shortcake was adorably packaged in a reusable container with firm fresh strawberries, lightly sweetened whipped cream and fluffy white cake. Absolutely delicious! I will definitely be coming back with friends .

Thankfully, that wasn't the case--I enjoyed the meal overall, even if it wasn't a "wow, this is the best meal ever" experience. The biggest surprise for me was the dried chili chicken. I almost didn't order it because so many reviews said it was overly salty and spicy. We asked for less salt, and they were happy to accommodate. I actually thought the spice level was very manageable, and it ended up being one of my favorite dishes. The orange chicken was another pleasant surprise. I expected it to be a basic, Americanized option, but it was delicious and ended up being one of my favorites of the meal. My friends really enjoyed the dan dan noodles, which seem to be one of their signature dishes. Personally, I thought they were good but not particularly memorable compared to everything else. The mango shrimp was tasty as well, but it wasn't something I'd consider a must-order on a return visit. Service was great. The waiter was friendly, accommodated our request for less salt, and we were seated immediately. We arrived about 10 minutes before opening on a weekday to line up, and that seemed to work well. overall a great experience!

The cold gluten salad is a true highlight here, with an impeccable springy texture and an absolutely perfect mix of chili oil and sesame in the seasoning. The flatbread was also a standout, being perfectly crunchy and flavorful alongside a cumin lamb with a good punch. I was less impressed by the hand-pulled noodles. The soup itself was fine, as were the lamb intestines (though I really prefer them grilled). However, for hand-stretched noodles, the noodles were just lacking and missing something. Maybe wheat noodles get better the further west you go, and it just isn't quite Lanzhou style.

I tried the biang biang noodles, but which was a bit bibimbap-esque with the tomato and egg, black bean pork, braised beef, and minced sauce. This was awesome as I love each ingredient individually but normally can't choose between which noodle bow I want. Mixed together, this creates a heavenly flavor of sweet, sour, and umami. The biang biang noodles were thick, chewy and bouncy, and like wider longer belts. The texture was actually so addicting and I devoured my bowl almost instantly. My friend got the Szechuan spicy vermicelli pot with beef, but this needed a bit more flavor and spice. Adding vinegar helped! Our server was super nice and friendly and helped us pack all our leftovers too.

Our large group was accommodated easily, and we were served relatively quickly after an initial delay while we were waiting for someone to come by. Food came soon after that. We ordered a wide range of things: honey shrimp, beef tripe, pork intestine, Hong Kong style fried noodles. Everything here is solid and delicious. Portions are reasonable too. Ambience is nice, clean, and modern. Only issue while we were here is that some in our group tried to order their baked chicken over spaghetti and they were out of spaghetti. Interesting basic ingredient to be short on here, but rice was not a bad substitute. Would definitely come back here if ever back in Chicago!

The music kept disconnecting and cutting out, completely ruining the atmosphere. If your restaurant automatically adds gratuity for parties of five or more, DECLARE IT CLEARLY UPFRONT. Don't wait until customers are leaving to explain it. We had already tipped, but our waiter actually ran outside to tell us it wasn't enough because it HAD TO BE AT LEAST 18% GRATUITY. Forcing an 18% gratuity after providing terrible service and mid food is unacceptable. Be transparent about your policies from the start instead of putting customers in an awkward situation after the meal.

I'd ordered Homura, and stepped away to wash my hands. Just as I was sitting down, the bowl of hot fresh goodness was placed in front of me. Even when the place was busy, the service remains lighting-quick! friendly and attentive too! As for the bowl, it was absolutely fantastic! Upon mixing, everything went together perfectly. The flavors were tremendously savory and rich, with accents from the egg, seasonings, veggies, and a healthy amount of meat. The noodles were cooked perfectly too! The bowl was perfect as is, and needed nothing. I was worried the bowl would be dry, but this couldn't be farther from the truth, especially with the ladle of liquid on the bottom, everything was perfect! Now, there are various seasonings and flavor enhancers on the table, but they weren't needed, in my opinion. If you do choose to add some, be careful, as some pour fast and heavy! After happily slurping this thing down in record time, I also ordered a single helping of Chashu, as I generally love it and wanted to try. It too was brought to me in no time, and was thin, well balanced, and melted in my mouth. Where it comes to value, the bowl was $13.50, and the slice of chashu was $1.50, IIRC. Great, especially in light of what everything costs nowadays. Final verdict: Kajiken came, and it DELIVERED.
