The curries typically have fish sauce, so I would not count on them as a vegan/vegetarian option. The place is rarely crowded, and food arrives quickly. To begin, I usually am skeptical Asian fusion because Japanese is so different from Thai and I don't want nigiri with green curry. That said--Eto'o does it the right way! Dish integrity, but a nice variety of cuisines. I had egg rolls, Drunken Noodles and Tom Ka soup--three countries that have food that I love on their own. The egg rolls were pretty close to perfect, flavorful and crispy without being hard. The drunken noodles were really satisfying. My favorite, which I'm a little particular about, was the Tom Ka soup. The broth can either be either too sweet, too watery or just in general, not good. None of which applied here. The fresh ginger and the generous amount of chicken made this one I enjoyed a lot! Food was very good. We ordered Larb salad, Pad Thai, Tom Kha soup and the pork special. The first three were gluten-free and the last was not gluten free and was for my son. he and my husband had gone to this little place a few months ago and really loved it so we decided to try it again. It did not disappoint. My only wishes are 1. that they mark more clearly on the menu what is gluten-free. I had to ask the waitress and she had to check with somebody and brought back a handwritten. it's great that they have that, but it would be nice to be more clear on the menu . A good thing was, that when she gave my son his dish, she made sure to remind me that it was not gluten-free and not to share it. And 2. that they find a way to not use plastic throwaway cups for drinks. Overall, our experience was very good. if you're not gluten-free, I think this would be five star. The food here is always solid, at least what I order. They have this tofu mushroom thing that is so good, it is so incredible, that I literally have to order it every time I order food from here. I don't know what they do to that stuff but oh my goodness.... I'm also always impressed by how fast the food comes, now granted I live about four blocks away, but when I order from there my food arrives in 20 minutes. Like at my door in 20 minutes. I don't really have too much bad to say, they have this salt and pepper tofu that's really good but sometimes it's like hella dry so if they ever want to improve on something I would be like, make that less dry, but at the same time it is the only tofu that I can get my brother's kids to eat and if it's not deep fried, battered, and used to moo ,squeel, or cluck they typically don't want to eat it. A little hidden Hyde Park Thai ish gem. I have passed this place thousands of times on 53rd. I never noticed it! Until I was looking through Door Dash, looked at their menu and decided to give them a whirl! I ordered one of their most popular signature dishes.... Spaghetti Green Curry with Crispy Battered Chicken Spaghetti with battered chicken, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil leaves, green peas, carrots and green curry sauce. I know it sounds weird but it worked and it's enough for two. Their crab Rangoons are good. The fresh green onion really stands out. They also have a good cocktail drink called ...Lime on the Beach which is a Combination of punch syrup drop with the lime juice and sprite. They have some other good combo mocktails too. Their strawberry cream cake slice is good too. It's covered in a lightly sweetened whipping cream. Give this place a try they are a really good neighborhood hidden gem! read more

Menu has variety of cuisines to choose from, I had a few in mind to choose but I narrowed my choices to signature dishes like the squid ink pasta and seared salmon and a black cow (root beer and vanilla ice cream). The Thai salmon basil fried rice was very flavorful and a really hefty portion for the price. I have too eat this in two sessions because it's a lot of food. The salmon tasted pan fried and had a nice teriyaki drizzle. I was salivating while eating this because it was so damn good. The mockumosa (passion fruit and mango sprite) tasted like what it would feel like to lay on a beach in Puerto Rico near a mango tree with the sand between your toes. It was tropical, fruity, sweet and mildly tart all in one sip. Just moved from California. In Hyde Park, we have tried a couple of Asian food places, and... every time.. it was just plain disappointing. So much so that I have been reluctant to try different restaurants. However, my boyfriend insisted on trying a new one so we went here. The food was great!!! I asked for the Chicken Pad See Ew. I also asked if they could make it spicy... IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. It was a good level of spicy. They even gave me more sauce on the side if it was not spicy enough. The pork belly was dry, the rolls were 85% lettuce with no basil and peanut sauce with the consistency of peanut BUTTER!! The soup was ALMOST okay, but had almost raw cabbage (WHY?) in it and barely any spice to it. Yet, it was far and away practically gourmet when compared to the gross mush that was the Pad Woon Sen. Honestly, that dish was so bad that boiled water would taste delicious next to it. I'm new to the neighborhood and looking for good restaurants in the Hyde Park/Washington Park area as a regular go to for take out. This place is NOT IT!! Given their huge menu, I thought there was no way they could make all these different things - but so far my low expectations have been surpassed. I mostly liked what we tried, and am curious to try the "riskier" stuff (like seafood) next time. The atmosphere is great and very cute here. - Pad see ew with beef - this was the star of our meal! The beef and sauce were so flavorful, they really made the dish addictive to eat. The noodles had a great chew, though were a bit skinny compared to more common pad see ew. - Combination bun dish (I forget the name on the menu but grilled pork, shrimp, and egg roll over vermicelli) - this was a bit of a miss. There wasn't enough vermicelli, but there were huge pieces of lettuce that made the dish beautiful but very hard to eat. The pork, shrimp, and egg roll were tasty enough. The sauce was ok, but could have been funkier and tangier. Still, I'd say I am excited about the potential of this place, and to try more, so I'm rounding up what might be more of a 3.5 to a 4. Pleasantly surprised by our delicious order from Eto'o Modern Asian Cuisine. We were craving some Asian food and decided to try Eto'o and ordered their Thai basil chicken (#134 on the menu) and the Korean style spicy pork special (#146) for delivery. Though the containers looked compact, the portions were very large and we had leftovers for the next day. I also ordered the Eto'o Milk Tea, even though I'm usually hesitant to order boba for delivery but the tapioca was nice and not too chewy. We'll definitely order from here again to try some more dishes. read more

A pretty solid choice for asian cuisine! I ordered the pad see ew, one of my favorite noodle dishes. While it wasn't my favorite, the noodles were pretty well flavored. I thought the tofu was a little bland, and I would have liked more vegetables in the dish as well. My boyfriend ordered the yakisoba, which I tried a little of, and it was a little underwhelming. I think the real star of the meal was the spicy peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls - it was so flavor packed and delicious that I've been trying to recreate it since (to no avail, sadly). I'm not usually one to leave terrible reviews but the experience I had tonight was just ridiculous. My friends and I came on a Friday night. I was the first to arrive and was seated immediately. However, the hostess failed to give the menus right away and went to tend to some other things. A few moments later, she came back the with menus. Later when another person arrived, she came and gave us 2 glasses of water, even though I had told her there were going to be 4 people. And after the final 2 people arrived, they did not receive waters. We had to wait almost 25 min just to order our food and they had to ask for water with their food. And then someone came (maybe 10 min later) WITH JUST ONE GLASS OF WATER. To make this even better, we were asked to move tables about 5 min after that glass of water came, during which I had to ask for the final fourth glass of water. And then of course, our food takes forever to arrive. And naturally we're all starving at this point and anxiously waiting for our food to arrive (obviously it takes a long time). The food is mediocre at best. And even then it's a hit or miss. I gave 2 stars because my food was decent. I got the shashu fried rice. 2 of my friends got the bbq pork and gyoza noodles, and there was a giant clump of noodles just stuck together in both of their meals that just seemed not cooked all the way (see picture). After we had basically finished eating, my friend finally got her drink that we had ordered. What great timing huh? It seemed like they only had one waitress on staff tonight which is ridiculous for a Friday evening when restaurants are usually the busiest. I definitely will not be coming back here again. Honestly it's kind of a disgrace to Asian food in my opinion. Usually good service can compensate for less than satisfactory food, but this place has neither. read more

Though there were only two tables there when we arrived, our food still took what felt like an unreasonably long time - whether this was a fluke or not, I'm not sure. Considering I was getting Pad See Ew and my friend was getting fried rice, the wait was a bit odd.
