The reason I came to this location is because I've been to other locations and really enjoyed their Blackened Fish Taco. Unfortunately, the ones here were not the same and were very disappointing. I won't be returning to this location. I didn't take a picture, but the Old Fashioned was also disappointing, it barely covered the ice. Great server, but the place is as dirty as the name. Floors with garbage all over, walls covered in goo and dont get me started with the bathrooms. My husband was hungry so he ordered a chicken sandwich. I just had a bottle of beer. He said the chicken smelled and tasted funny, so he didn't eat more than a bite and we were done with Don's. So warm inside felt like no air conditioning inside. Just gross all around. A waste of money. read more

The name is fitting. Ok food with decent service. Didn't really enjoy the oyster flight. I'd probably recommend sticking with something simple from the menu. I didn't take any pictures of the food, because frankly I didn't want to. Everything we had was so subpar. We got fried calamari that looked like it came out of a frozen food box from the grocery store. It was so chewy that my jaw hurt and it tasted like fish (we didn't get sick, thank god). I got the Philly cheesesteak and it tasted like freezer burnt steakumm. 0% chance of ever going back here. The table next to us also complained about the food - which was the most enjoyable part of the evening because we bonded over shared trauma. We had gone to 2 other oyster places before this one. This one was the least favorite. Not so much flavor for the raw oysters and the ice in the oysters were so watered down as well as the drinks. We usually give a good rating if service blows us out of the water even if the food isn't great. Service was okay but nothing that would or should grant the 18% gratituity that they automatically add to a party of less than 6. Being from out of state, we are not use to this automatic gratuity for this less than par service, we would expect greater service. read more

Came here during off season in the beginning of November. Was able to get a table right away as it seemed kind of slow. However, I could see this place getting really busy during the summer since the location is prime right off the boardwalk. Service was great, our server was attentive and checked in on us frequently. We ordered a dozen raw oysters, and unfortunately they were thin and lacked flavor. One of my oysters even had a pea crab in it. It was the first time I had ever experienced this and was assured by the server that this meant the oysters were fresh. Okay - I googled this afterwards and although the pea crab doesn't harm the oyster's quality, since it is a kleptoparasite and steals food from the host oyster, it explains the thinness. I also ordered the lobster roll. It was more like a lobster salad roll as the lobster meat is mixed in with some imitation crab and celery. A little misleading, but was still tasty, probably not worth the $32 though. The side of hush puppies only came in 3, but were probably the best tasting thing here. read more

Staff- was fine, nothing to rave about. Food- not good. I ordered half dozen raw oysters which were gross. They were Virginia oysters. Disgusting. Also ordered the shrimp boil with potato and corn, I also added 1 crab leg cluster. Everything in the boil was bland. I know there's seasoning on it - you can see it - but it was so bland. It's almost like all the seasonings are old and expired that they've lost their flavor profile. I generally don't use melted butter, but I had to for each bite of this seafood boil. I would not recommended this restaurant. But also in general, I don't recommend the food scene in Myrtle Beach. I ate out there for 3 days and nothing impressed me. Not a food scene. read more

Quickly got the feeling that's how they stay in busy. Hush puppies tasted like they had been fried for too long. The breading on the oysters were better but could have used more of a kick. Bread and tomato's were fresh. Oysters had some good seasoning on them but on the menu it said its comes with garlic bread and when asked about it the waitress said they had ran out. Had a great lunch here while we were in town. Location is on the board walk facing the ocean side. Had the jalapeño cheddar burger while watching the waves. Service was on point. She got our order in right away and kept checking in on us all the way through. Cool decor on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. We had a coupon for some oysters on the half shell or shrimp. He let me get the oysters. They were okay but not all the way clipped from the shell. He had the coconut shrimp which he thinks came out of a box. Our meals consisted of the lobster rolls for him and the crab cake appetizer for me. He said he has had better lobster rolls. My crab cakes were good but very thick. If you are going to open a restaurant anywhere at the beach, your food better be tremendous. Would I come back here? After reading some reviews and trying to find some Crab legs, we ended up here because we couldn't get a seat in other places on a Saturday night. First, the food is decent and if I was rating the food alone, it would have faired better but because I'm rating the overall experience, it's getting 3 stars, 2.5 if I could give half stars. The location is nice in that it is on the boardwalk and it offers a small amount of outdoor seating but being on the boardwalk of Myrtle beach is also a huge negative. The crowd is pretty rowdy and not exactly family friendly. Parking is expensive and requires you to walk a decent ways through loud music, loud cars, and rowdy people. If you are looking for a family-friendly place, the Myrtle beach boardwalk is not it. The restaurant itself has a beach/dive bar atmosphere which I liked and they had live music. Service wasn't so great either. We had a younger server that was nice but not knowledgeable about the menu, and couldn't give any recommendations. We ordered the pulled pork nachos for an appetizer which I want to say was good but not amazing. It was almost like there were too many different flavors going on between the thousand island like sauce, sour cream, jalapeños, pulled pork, and to top it off, pineapple. Ultimately they were too different and surprising with the pineapple to really like them. I also wanted to try the Maui burger which was supposed to have beef and a pineapple but when is asked my server about it they said they didn't like fish and that was a turn off for me because I didn't see any seafood included on that entree on the menu, so I went with the standard cheese burger which was nothing to write about good or bad. My wife had an off menu order crab leg boil. She really liked the crabs because of the amount of bay seasoning they cooked it in and it being surrounded with corn and sausage. This was the best part of our dinner there. She also ordered a Bloody Mary, which she did not finish and she stated "you can tell a lot about how I like a drink by if I finish it or not, because it's hard for me to leave alcohol on the table'" hahaha but I think her statement sums up her thoughts on their bloody mary. Overall, go there for crab legs if you are already risking your life by being down by the boardwalk, but if you are not, I'd find a different place. I knew this could be a "tourist trap" but I don't think it was, honestly. Had a dozen oysters and they were what we expected. We split an order of crab legs and the tuna tacos. The server was not wrong about the Mexican corn being *chefs kiss*. The lowlight was the fries. Get them in some beer batter like all your neighbors and that would up it a little bit. Last night our party of 4 ate at Dirty Don's. The restaurant was surprisingly empty for a Saturday night so we had no trouble getting a table. Our orders consisted of lobster mac n cheese, fish and chips, fish tacos, and shrimp tacos. All the meals were delicious, with the mac n cheese being outstanding. Our server was excellent. He was there when you needed him but he didn't bother you. Our only complaint is that the menu at the restaurant did not include as many choices as the on-line menu. Seat yourself, even if it's a dirty table because that's the only way you're going to get one. After waiting 10 minutes and never being approached, we started cleaning the table ourselves. When we finally saw someone cleaning a table where a family had just left, my boyfriend politely approached the server and said "hey, I just wanted to let you know we just came in.." and before he could finish with "in case you didn't see the couple before us leave" the server inhaled, threw her dirty dish rag onto our table, rolled her eyes, and said "okay." We weren't even asking for our table to be cleaned. If you're having a bad day, don't take it out on customers. We came in for a few drinks but also got a quick snack. Let me say this first. The servers were fantastic. They were on top of everything and were quick. I didn't try the oysters but they looked pretty good. My wife had the mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce which was basically frozen mozzarella sticks you would find at the supermarket. The marinara sauce was pretty awful. It tasted like ketchup with oregano mixed into it. The fried clams also tasted like something you'd get from the supermarket as well but they were decent. The French fries were fantastic though. They seemed to be hand cut and they have malt vinegar you can sprinkle on them to turn them into boardwalk fries. The drinks were the best part of our experience. The were mixed well and you can order a pitcher of mixed drinks and get a free t-shirt. read more

Typically, you don't think of the words "Dirty Dons" being a great oyster restaurant, but hey its 2020 so anything is possible, right? We wanted to sit outside, but it has a small patio so it was definitely full. We sat up at the bar instead and ended up being super happy about it! Our bartender Kelli was so friendly and really could tell that she wanted us to have the best experience possible. She offered us a pitcher of a mixed drink, because you get a free t-shirt with it!! What!! Sold!! Our pitcher called The Monsoon was delicious and strong. We got Oysters Rockefeller as our appetizer and it was amazing. I ordered the Seafood Nachos with extra sour cream, and my spouse ordered the Shrimp Dinner. I wanted oysters and dirty don did not disappoint! They have an awesome seafood specials section so we took advantage of that and also got a pitcher of margaritas, which came with a t shirt! Definitely the best option for drinks. They were perfectly strong and the seafood was just as good.
