I have tried this place several times since they opened. In the beginning they were excellent bagels. I chalked up the long wait time and general chaos to being new. Since then I thought they're just struggling with the same issues that other businesses are facing due to covid, so I kept trying. Today was the last time. I have no idea how it could take 25 minutes to schmear cream cheese on an untoasted bagel (and forget to cut it in half). I also don't know how a place like this can run out of coffee. After the waiting to find out they have only sweet n low was the last straw. And the bagel was not nearly as good as they used to be... tough and tasteless. This place is so poorly run its hard to believe they're still in business. Yes, there are staffing shortages. Incredibly slow service, ordered online and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. Knowing it was a Saturday I gave them the benefit of an additional 10 minutes before heading over. When I arrived it was busy and our order (4 bagels) took over and additional hour to be ready. I inquired and was told it would be on the shelf when it was ready. A woman eventually asked what I was waiting for and miraculously it appeared. After getting home and unpacking the order, literally every single sandwich was wrong. What was supposed to be toasted wasn't and vice versa. The savory bagels had smears of Nutella cream cheese from an unclean knife and all four had everything seasoning on them presumably from the work surface. I have tried calling no fewer than 10 times to speak with someone but messages go unreturned even when someone answers the phone. The bagels are fine. Honestly I would leave 0 stars if I could. I ordered 4 bagels, it was not busy when I came and I waited 40 minutes for the bagels. No line. People ordered after me and were getting their bagels first. Then when the bagels finally came out they forgot one and also didn't put cream cheese on the one bagel. The manager was rude when asking what we needed, and didn't offer a discount. And were not apologizing for anything. They were then laughing and discussing amongst the staff right in front of us. Finally a place where u can get homemade bread that's actually delicious ! Not to mention the delicious baked goods . Best bagel breakfast sandwich I ever had . Bagel was not doughy instead it was crunchy on the outside and light and airy in the inside so u could taste the eggs , crispy bacon and oooygooy cheese . Defiantly a must try .. We stopped by here today for breakfast and ordered 2 CYO sandwiches ($9 each), 2 bagels with cream cheese ($5.50 each), and 2 orange juices ($7.50 each). I paid with my card and selected the option for no tip and no receipt, as I planned to toss cash in the tip jar after grabbing my order. We sat down outside and a minute or two later I got an alert for my Apple Pay payment for nearly $68. That was almost $20 more than what was shown when I paid inside (with tax included). I went back in to the lady at the counter, who was less than thrilled to even be there and had been rude since we initially walked in. She gave me attitude because she didn't know why it was $68 either so I had her pull up the order and reprint the receipt. After I had walked away to go outside, "someone" had added a tip to my order hence the significantly higher bill. I was then given attitude when I asked for a refund. All the while, they were pulling crates of oranges directly off the Syco truck and dumping them unwashed and with stickers on right into the orange juice machine. If you're going to charge $7.50 for a small cup of orange juice you could at least wash the things first! Overall, the employee's poor attitude and shady practices will keep us away from there in the future. read more

Just bought two everything bagels and a brownie to go. I'll start with the good-the brownie was excellent; rich, chocolatey and large for the money. That is the only reason I don't mind giving them one star. Now to the bagels. Dry, tasteless, seemed stale, rolled way to thin, in a word...LOUSY! And at $2 each, very expensive. We asked for a container of lox spread-cream cheese mixed with chopped lox-and they looked at us like we were from Mars. I've never heard of a bagel shop that didn't sell lox spread. They did offer to stuff a plastic container with not so great looking sliced lox but we passed. In the future we will be passing on the whole store. read more

Wow! These are some of the best bagels I've ever had. It's hard to find a good bagel at the shore but this place nailed it. They have some interesting spread options and do bagel sandwiches as well. I also had one of their cinnamon rolls which was pretty killer. The only criticism I have is that there was entirely too much cream cheese on the bagel but it may have been because the guy making it was new. Otherwise it was great. BEST Sourdough bread ever. They'll happily slice for you to freeze bread. I too lived in Manhattan for most of my life and think the bagels r terry fresh, yummy. Light Crisp outside, soft center. Just ask for lite cream cheese if don't like a mountain of it but that's also tasty. My kids are picky and also love it. If you're looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast, look elsewhere. Placed an online order that said it would be ready in 35 minutes. Ended up waiting an hour and 15 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese and a breakfast sandwich. I understand if things get a bit backed up and they are short staffed, however, they should update the wait time so it's more accurate and improves the flow of customers rather than having 20 people waiting for online orders. Barista did not even write customers names on drinks and just put drinks on the counter without calling peoples' names. Coffee and matcha were watered down from sitting for so long. Was really looking forward to trying this place because it looks great on social media, but after this experience it wasn't worth it. Managers need to focus on the quality of the food and service, not the aesthetics for the gram. I was really excited to try this place and was completely disappointed. In general, the bagels are eh. I would rather a high quality store bought bagel. I've made bagels homemade with better chew. But moreover, both sandwiches we ordered were not what we asked for. The first sandwich was CYO meat, egg and cheese. My friend asked for a pork roll egg and cheese on a toasted sesame bagel. He asked for double meat and cheese and was certainly charged for it but did not meet expectations. It was good, but nothing great. My sandwich was the Loxed and I ordered on a scooped (don't judge, helps with ratio of ingredients) sesame toasted with their daily special cream cheese, scallion herb. Pretty sure that was an up charge as well. Bagel was not scooped. The sesame looked like it was a plain that got rolled in seeds before service. My friend's was literally covered. And came with plain cream cheese. So frustrating. Mind you, 2 sandwiches, plus a coffee came to $40 with tax! read more

You need to train your staff better to take orders quicker and come up with a better system of who does what job with the customer facing people. Waited way to long in line to order and way to long until food comes out. No reason it takes 15-20 min, from walk in to walk out,to order 6 bagels and a tub of cream cheese. Also, have a separate line or area for pick up rather than having that person wait in a long line with others ordering. It frustrates people who specifically phoned ahead to not wait in line. Great bagels. My only complaint is that they seem to run out of Sesame bagels EVERY day, hours before they close: the bagel bins overflow with every other flavor and variety. If you're open til 4 and consistently out of sesame by 10 am, maybe you should make more of your most popular flavor! read more

We came here today while passing through town because of their great social media presence, we just had to check it out. A case full of delicious baked goods! I got a pork roll egg and cheese on a cheddar bagel and it was so huge and filling I couldn't finish it even though I wanted every bite of that goodness in me. Tried placing an online order due to having a toddler and newborn with me but it did not work correctly, only one of the two sandwiches were made and then it was given to someone else, a new sandwich was made after waiting 20 mins. Customer names need to be put on the orders so there is no mix up. Multiple customers complaining while I was waiting that they were there for 30 mins. Food is good but not worth the hassle. Muffin was stale and not made fresh today. After getting both kids in the car we realized they never gave us our lemonades, very unsatisfied. read more

I would definitely recommend the Loxed Bagel if you're looking for a unique breakfast! The bakehouse's staff are very friendly and practice proper customer service. I eat here all the time and will definitely order this again. After going twice and getting two different bagel sandwich orders completely incorrectly (not adding tomatoes, putting NO cream cheese on the wrong bagel, adding the wrong cream cheese to the wrong bagel, etc) I am extremely dissapointed. The service is also extremely slow. If you are going to get a sandwich here--MAKE SURE it's correct before you leave or just get a dozen bagels because it's not worth it. read more

Very excited to have a bagel store open in OC. These are baked bread style bagels not to be confused with "real" bagels. Quality overall is good. Pricey for a bagel 2.00 (1.50 each when you buy 6). One suggestion would be to use real diced onion instead of dried onion flakes. Couple muffin options also along with some bread, rolls and cookies. The bagels here are pretty good. However, the prices are outrageous! We ordered the loxed bagel with cucumber and sprouts and it was $18 for just that one bagel. Couldn't believe my eyes. Considering they charged $2 extra for just sprouts, it was crazy to look at the bagel and see 3 singular tiny sprouts and not a lot of lox.
