Was in the area for an estate sale looked on yelp for a cheap and good place to eat for lunch. When we walked in the place is very small the waitress was extremely nice. Will not be back. Went in over the weekend after reading all the great reviews. I don't know what people think when they talk about the food, but the quality was just not there for us. Everything seemed to come prepackaged and the hollandaise was DISGUSTING. I asked the server if it was homemade and was told it was.... It was obviously not and seemed like one of those powdered packets. Their menu looks great but when the food comes out, it disappoints. If I wanted a breakfast I could make myself, I'd stay home and save my money. Definitely will not be returning to this place as there are much better options in the area with fresh ingredients and more creative menus. read more

We decided to try this local business for lunch and we are very glad we did . Deb offered a Ruben that wasn't on the menu (tomorrow's special ) and it was great! Paired with a nice homemade potato salad it certainly hit the spot. The chicken cutlet grinder was perfectly cooked and generous portion. Not too thick , not too thin on the cutlet. The food is decent, my son loves it. I just wish it was cleaner. We were sitting at a table in the back of the restaurant and a waitstaff came over to adjust the runner on the floor and literally lifted it and swooped it in our direction so all the dirt flew at us. I was speechless read more

Just had breakfast here. I had sausage gravy with biscuits. Two eggs overeasy and home fries. My son had sausage egg and cheese on a English muffin with Cajun home fries. Hands down the best breakfast in town. And good coffee. My son tasted the gravy and said it was just like my gravy. My only negative comment would be the salt level of the food was a little high for my taste. All in all excellent breakfast. I will be back to try lunch at some point. read more

A very nice small neighborhood luncheonette on the main road in Higganum, CT. Small, but intimate and friendly. The atmosphere is a throwback to years ago, punctuated by old fashioned country music playing softly in the background. Parking is easy. The place is small with a counter and several comfortable booths. You feel relaxed as soon as you're seated. Deb and her staff are look like they really enjoy working there. They serve breakfast and lunch only and you can get either. The menu is basic but covers the bases and the food is fresh and delicious. For us, we were there for lunch and had sandwiches and fries. The meats and bread were very good and the fries cooked lightly without a lot of grease. We didn't have desert this time but we will definitely come back for breakfast another time. They do take credit cards and prices are very reasonable. A note to people with big appetites...they serve very reasonable portions for what they charge but they are not out to stuff you. As seniors we appreciate this. When I grew up there were alot of places like Deb's. Now my wife and I mark down where the are. I give it five stars for comparison to other diners. read more

Stumbled upon this hidden treasure after taking a wrong exit. We had a late breakfast. Delicious and the special coffee of the day, maple spice, amazing. I recommend anything with the corn beef hash. Deb's was amazing. We stopped by with our toddler for breakfast on a beautiful Sunday spring morning and sat outside and were able to have our dog join us. We have been to Deb's three times so far. It keeps getting better as she irons out the kinks. The coffee and bacon have improved. The omelet was exactly the way I like it, not fluffy and over stuffed like another local breakfast establishment. I recommend stopping here for breakfast. My wife and I made our first visit to this new restaurant on its second day in business. The menu items are basic breakfast fare, but the quality and size of the portions are excellent. A couple at an adjacent table ordered a heaping portion of hash. It looked great and these folks proclaimed it to be excellent. We will be making Deb's a regular haunt!
