After seeing countless videos on social media, I was excited to finally visit this unique and whimsical-looking restaurant for Mother's Day lunch. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a disappointing start. When making the reservation, I was never informed that the restaurant would only be offering a limited Mother's Day menu. By the time we were seated and learned there were only five menu options available, with no access to the regular brunch menu, it was too late to make alternative plans. Not wanting to spend the holiday scrambling for another restaurant, we decided to stay and make the best of it. For the price, the food was underwhelming. Most of the dishes were mediocre, and my filet was noticeably overcooked. I had specifically been looking forward to trying items from their brunch menu, so finding out it wasn't available was disappointing. The cocktails were visually appealing but overly sweet and lacked balance. Another disappointment was the seating. Despite making reservations in advance, we were not seated in one of the restaurant's signature enchanted booths. To be fair, there are only three of these themed booths in the entire restaurant. The rest of the dining room felt somewhat dated and cluttered with dusty artificial plants. The overall atmosphere didn't quite match the magical experience portrayed online and on social media. The staff did make an effort to celebrate Mother's Day by giving moms elf ears and light-up tiaras, which was a fun touch and added to the theme. In the end, I left feeling disappointed. The concept and marketing create high expectations, but the food, seating experience, and overall value didn't quite live up to the hype. While the restaurant certainly offers a unique theme, my experience fell short of what I was expecting, and I'm not sure I would be motivated to return.

They even allow dogs, so bring along the fur babies as well. The ranch is open every Saturday and Sunday from May to December. Parking and admission is free. They serve local beers, wine, hard cider, nonalcoholic flavored lemonades, and their famous apple cider milkshake. There is a food grill selling hot dogs and burgers. There's even a petting zoo. $8 to pet baby calves, small ponies, and the such. $4 additional for a feed cup. There is a large grassy lawn to throw down a towel or bring your own chairs, relax. Plus I gotta mention that they have no plumbed restrooms, they have porta toilets and portable handwashing stations. Not a deal breaker for me. Just letting y'all know. Every weekend, they have live music. We went on a night that Nikki Perez was singing. Happy happenstance. Man, she's a talent!! Look her up on IG. Around the stage there are Adirondack chairs and picnic tables. Saturday 10am-7pm Sunday 10am-5pm Later in the year, they'll open the u pick apple orchard in late August; then the pumpkin patch in late September; and then the tree farm in late November. Wanting to beat the crowds, we arrived a little before 10 a.m. and found parking quickly after discovering an additional parking lot. I've started a tradition of picking up one glass pumpkin each year, but this time I left with two--thanks to my husband's suggestion. The selection of pumpkins was beautiful, as always. We didn't see the popcorn or the glassblowing demos, though in fairness we may have been too early. Instead, we tried the Pineapple Ginger Hard Cider, which was delicious. Since we didn't want a full pour, we asked about a smaller size. The server showed us a half-glass, which was perfect, but we later realized we'd been charged for a full drink anyway. By the time we left around 10:30, cars were lined up down the road waiting to get into the lot. Parking definitely seemed limited for such a popular event. Judging from the lines outside other Apple Hill venues as well, my advice is to avoid weekends if you can--or at least plan to arrive early.

There were other glitches, but Yelp seems to consider that if an opinion does not align with the Narrative, it should be removed.

11/17/24 We recently…read morediscovered Hooverville Orchards on a local community post and have been looking to go check them out. Hubs loves pie in general so you know I had to drag him along! We finally made it out on Sunday morning and it's a really cute orchard! Hooverville Orchards offers so many fruit pies, cobblers, cookies, sourdough bread, tiramisu, fruit juices, jams and jellies and fresh baked gluten free pies. We grabbed a large peach blackberry pie and a sourdough bread to go. The sourdough is sooo good! It's perfectly the right chewy texture and taste! I wished we would have grabbed 2! My kids felt like the perfect description for this bread was if sourdough & ciabatta had a baby bread. OoOo haha. I read that they occasionally have garlic loaves, rosemary flavored and even Olive ones too! I'd have to come back one of those weekends! They are taking Thanksgiving Pie orders through this week. The pie was really good too! The crust was flaky and good. The fruit was not overly sweet or tart and best of all served warm if you go early enough. This past weekend, they also had satsuma mandarins available for $3/lb. We grabbed a bag and grabbed a little over 3lbs for the kiddos lunch snack for school this week. It's a tad tart but oh so juicy bursting tart mandarins! It's a bit of a windy road getting there so try to take it easy and try not missing the left turn to the Orchard as you'd be stuck for a few minutes up the hill trying to make a U-turn to make a sharp right turn. We didn't spend a ton of time there but read that they have a huge rose garden where you can pick your own roses for $1/stem! We'll have to roam around next time! We'll be back soon.
