I love this place!! For several years now I've brought all three of my dogs at once for the self groom! Usually $15 ea, but discounted for multiple pets. I'm not rushed like Pet Barn, the self groom room is large that I and my dogs can freely move without being under foot! The staff is friendly too! I have a dog that is dog reactive so I pay in advance and they ensure me a straight shot in and out so as not to upset my kids or other pets! This place is a life saver. My dog is a little chihuahua minpin who hates being groomed. She would give groomers a hard time by barking, etc. Our regular dog groomer just broke her arm and said she couldn't accommodate my dog anymore because of her attitude. We brought our 75 lbs water-averse Golden Retriever to be washed and groomed to get out of his fur all the soot from the Thomas fire. They did a FABULOUS job. He was a happy camper. I was so thankful that Dee Dee's Dog spot could squeeze us in last minute (I called the night before). We were able to get an appointment mid-week with Katie. When we arrived, she was so friendly and extremely communicable. She was eager to befriend my dog Rocky and figure out exactly how we wanted our mutt groomed. Our pup is a poodle mix and his over grown cut was just a mess! Katie did an amazing job at washing, grooming, and brushing our pup within 3 hours. We think he looks very handsome now! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I decided to try this place because the self serve dog wash at petbarn in Ventura was booked for the day. Not only was the place absolutely filthy with unmarked bottles that don't specify what you are washing your dog with, but while I was there a woman was washing a brown aussie and after seeing her drag the dog to the back she began screaming that the dog had bit her vagina. I saw her swing her arm back out of the corner of my eye and then I heard the dog yelp several times. I was horrified. My worst nightmare is having my dog abused at a groomer/doggy day care. I was referred to Dee Dee because my groomer had to quit taking large dogs, when I first arrived I was very happy, it seemed like a great place until I met Dee Dee. She was very un professional and kept going on about how short staffed she was and making a big deal about the size of my dog ( which I completely explained over the phone the previous day) She then asked me if he would bark if she left him in a cage all day?!?!?! I was glad to find a local place that had a self wash. Unfortunately, the first time I showed up during their business hours they were closed. Then I tried again and could not get a live person to answer the phone. I also think that it is odd that you have to make an appt. for a self wash when that is supposed to be the convenience of it. I finally got a call back and showed up for my scheduled time. The room was filthy and disgusting and looked as if nothing had ever been washed. The go to place for grooming. They do an excellent job here. Better than other places- more qualified staff than aloha dog grooming, which seems to be a much more disorganized place and they're sassy on the phone. I asked a couple of questions at aloha and they acted like it was such an ordeal for me to be asking questions about the way they dry the dogs and how loud the dryer is. I have a 3 year old Newfoundland named Nova and live in Oak View, we started going to Dee Dee's and love it so much! Tried giving this place another try after being unsatisfied in the past and boy was that a mistake. My dog was there for 6 hours! Yes he needed a good grooming, but having my dog there that long is unacceptable! And they trimmed his nails to short and a couple were to the quick and bleeding! That is so painful for dogs and now he's traumatized. His cut isn't even that great either..I'd suggest not going here if you truly care about your dogs well being. First off as the groomer who took care of your dog today I would like to apologize that you felt Duffy wasn't taken care of properly however I can assure you that he was treated very well while in our care he was walked on our back patio twice to go potty and was also offered water. Duffy was not at the salon for 6 hours and as far as the haircut is concerned I did the best I could considering he had come in very matted on his legs from months of not being brushed and that is something even the best groomer cannot undo. As far as his nails go we try our very best not to hit the quick on a nail when we trim them however it can and does happen and it is in no way traumatizing to the dog. The owner Dee Dee was out of the salon today but stopped by towards the end of the day and called you immediately upon hearing that you were unhappy and wished to speak to her she apologized several times and offered for you to come back on the house yet you still decided to write a bad review here despite our efforts to correct the situation for you. Duffy was a great dog to groom he is very well behaved and we will miss seeing him in the future should you decide not to return and I wish you and him the best of luck read more

This place was a god sent for me and my pupper i have had no luck finding a good reliable groomer I've been turned down by multiple places because i choose to muzzle my pupper for her safety and others she is not aggressive but is temperamental with strangers she needs to warm up and get to know people before she can trust them and she will growl at some people so to prevent an incident ever happening i choose to use a muzzle, anyways Dee dees dog spot was so helpful and understanding they reply quickly and are super professional my pupper absolutely loved the groomer and she did beyond an amazing job my pupper was forming Matt's in her back end and needed a lot of brushing, she was given a full bath and got all her Matt's out brushed out her coat super well and clipped her nails and to top it all off a cute lil pink bow she was the best of the best i cannot say this enough i recommend this place to anybody ! 100/10 read more

My Australian Shepard has A LOT of hair. I don't get her groomed often but when I do, I always take her to Dee Dees. I like that there are some cages (even nice big ones) but the dogs who are not aggressive are allowed to walk around. It is a bit of a wait if you take them in a weekend day because they're usually pretty busy. They call when it's time to pick up and Furby always looks great! They wash, trim up her chest, derange her ears and clip her nails. I think because of her size it's usually 60-70$ but well worth it! read more

I took my dog in today for grooming we called to see if they had availability and they told us she would be seen from 12:30-1:30pm i hadn't got a call yet so I showed up 2 hours later only to be told she hadn't even had a bath yet! DeeDee (the owner) is a LIAR!!! She said Brandy had, had a bath already when I was already told by an employee she had not and was only sitting in the dryer section till someone could bathe her. They offered to see her next morning at no charge but why would I want to take her to someone who is dishonest and a liar! My husband heard one of the groomers yelling at a dog! My appointment was accommodated quickly, in less than a day. The groomer, Malea (sp?) did a fantastic job of getting my boys squeaky clean and trimmed into tip-top shape. The establishment is spacious, clean, very nicely laid and well-organized. I read the recent one-star review and have never seen the place described that way. If it did get cluttered that one time, it certainly doesn't mean it's always that way. The wide assortment of shampoos and brushes are always available and organized neatly. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I like to make an appoiintmnt in advance of our trip to the ocean for a swim.
