Chic, small-town vibe restaurant with an incredible view of the local marina. Came here for a sip and shop event and the staff were extremely nice. They served us boozy hot chocolate and it was delicious. Can't wait to dine here one day. I've heard the menu and food are impressive.

Came here for their Thanksgiving dinner event. Beautiful setting made you wish Thanksgiving was in July. Oh to be waterfront on this party deck having Thanksgiving in shorts would be perfect. I guess I'm missing living in San Antonio today. Very nice and generous spread here for thanksgiving. Cold bar with oysters and shrimp, all the usual Thanksgiving options and all delicious. I heard the turkey was fresh as well. Mashed Potatoes could have been more creamy, and beans could've been cooked some more. Topped it off with a very unexpected desert. Smith Island carrot cake and chocolate cake. I had the carrot cake and it was so moist. Service very attentive and cheerful.

We recently enjoyed a nice lunch at Deep Blue. We had gone there 4-5 years ago and weren't impressed - the menu was super small back then and had no good vegetarian options. Friends of ours had mentioned that there was a new owner or something and that they'd had a good meal there so we decided to give it another try. I'm glad we did. The menu is much more interesting and has lots more choices now. Everything we had was great, from the BBQ brisket sandwiches and fries to the deviled eggs with pimento cheese. It was all pretty darn good. We will definitely be going back.

So, if you're looking for a picturesque view, decent orange crush and enjoyable music ... I say by all means go. If you're looking for dinner - skip it. My scallop entree (described by the menu as seared with corn succotash) ended up being over cooked scallops served over frozen corn/ string bean mix. No flavor at all. Will say the Smith Island cake was good.

Food, family, atmosphere and great service they have it all at Deep Blue. We were welcomed when we came in. Asked if we wanted a table we asked to sit at the bar. Headed into the restaurant not knowing what to expect. Walked and found a few open seats. It was 7:00pm and they closed at 8:00pm so there were only a handful of people dining. We ordered drinks and were advised on Wednesday there is a special on pasta. I felt like we ordered everything. Jeff ordered oysters on the half shell, lobster roll and fried calamari. I ordered shrimp and crab linguini. Jeff said the bar fries were the BOMB! Dinner and drinks came to $144.00 without tip but worth it. Everything was delicious and produced promptly. Reading the menu they offer a lot of specials, happy hour, and military discounts. It was refreshing to see. I wish more restaurants were community friends like Deep Blue. Jeff and I did have a few drinks but we're lucky to have booked a room for the night at the INN attached to the restaurant so we didn't have far to go to call it a night. Overall experience was 10 out of 10. Very cool place. Clean, historic, and yummy food.

Was looking for a nice spot on Fourth of July to grab dinner and this place nailed it. Did not see the inside but the outdoor deck area is lovely, with views of the marina as far as the eye can see. Ordered the coconut shrimp and a crab cake sandwich. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. Dress code is casual, men can get away with a polo and shorts with flip flops while the ladies won't stand out in a cute maxi dress or shorts with a sleeveless top.

Much improved over last owner. Good food, service is improving since most employees are young and new. Hopefully this summer sets the tone.

The food was very good, Rick Somers was Excellent, Our waitress was really good and helpful. There was no shortage of lump crab in the soup. Creamy, rich, just enough Old Bay and a hint of Sherry. The Salas was big. The Blackened Chicken had a Jerk flare. Very good. The Quesadilla's were delicious. I nice fresh Tex Mex dish with a bit of Easter shore flare. There is plenty of Parking, we sat right by the River and had a wonderful view. There is an extensive Drink and Draft menu as well. The Fish Whistle is a keeper. We plan to go back and take friends.

The restaurant is a few miles from the freeway in a small town. It sits by the water next to a pier with small boats. It was Trivia Night so the bar was loud with locals enjoying the game. We were greeted warmly as we entered from the rain. We were then escorted to a dining hall & seated at a corner table with a view of a river & sunset! Seafood was the highlight of the menu. It was so fresh & made the dishes very delicious. Portions are big which suited us just right. We were hungry travelers. What we really enjoyed more than the delicious food was the chat with our server. She explained the special thoroughly so we could make good decisions. Every-time she checked in on us, she initiated conversation. It was so comforting & friendly. It made our dining experience a happy one. After that we were energized for the 2.5 hours to NJ.

It's a pretty cool place - a large open bar and restaurant on the left, and a liquor/beer store on the right. On this visit, we sat at the bar for an hour or so. The girls working there were very sweet and talkative. I liked the openness of the place, but my husband thinks the bar area should be separated a bit from the restaurant area - I mean, not totally closed off, but maybe a half wall or something to define the spaces a little. The food was pretty good. We ordered fried pickles and ate those while we there - they were good but we prefer a little less breading and thicker pickles. I definitely like the slices over whole spears, but theirs seemed a little thinner than typical hamburger pickle slices. To go, we ordered the cheeseburger with candied bacon with a side of mac and cheese, and an additional side of the smashed potato salad. The burger was great and the candied bacon was delish (I could have eaten a whole pile of it). The mac and cheese was good too. I was a little disappointed in the smashed potato salad though - sorry, but it just didn't seem like "potato salad" to me - it was straight up just their smashed potatoes with boiled eggs in it. Anyway, I adore potato salad and was intrigued enough to try it, but I don't think I'll be getting it again. Overall though - a nice place that I'm sure we'll be visiting again soon.

Looking through the glass panes in their door at the bottom of the steps leading to the back yard and C & D Canal, it appeared that the lights were off and that it wasn't open for business at 3:00 p.m. The door wasn't locked, so I opened it to step inside to try for a better look. It was then I saw a woman behind the bar who appeared to be setting up for business. She also saw me and asked if she could be of service. I asked if the place was open? She explained that it was, and she would be happy to make me a cocktail, however, they rarely had customers this time of day midweek, and that if I was hungry the restaurant above would certainly be happy to take care of me. The conversation continued briefly as she explained the two businesses had a common owner and shared a kitchen with a slightly different, but mainly overlapping menu. The large dining room next door was shared, although there were several tables in the shadows as well as a few barstools. The darkness seemed appropriate; like a cave where many things could be hidden from view and likely to instill a sense of secrecy and even conspiracy, for example, a perfect stop for the Underground Railroad or a speakeasy during Prohibition. Realizing I was taking up her time, and that she had better things to do than listen to a stranger's fantasies, I excused myself and exited the door I had just entered. She smiled and nodded, as she continued wiping the glassware in preparation for the night's guests.

The bar tender was very nice, very courteous . Then the issues began to emerge. Keep in mind what time it is and there are only 6-7 people in the bar. The men's bathroom was filthy. Like there was excrement on the wall, trash cans over flowing and toilet paper on the wall, stuck to it. All over the floor. The bar tender said something to the manager and the excuse was that it was the bait parade the night before. They have had over 12 hours to clean the bathroom. The nachos were absolutely gross. Poured cheese, 3 jalapeños, cold chicken. Two years ago it was a mix of cheese and smoked chicken, and delicious. I hope the owners read this and take note. Your saving money on cheap ingredients will lose clientele. A gross bathroom should have you shut down. Do better. You have a great location and a special little bar.
