Went just after re opening from quarantine. I was prepared for issues and full of patience! Even I left disappointed. Party of more than 6 came in after us. Our Drinks ran dry for some time, martinis were small, food took over 1 hour. Could tolerate it all except food came & mine was not right. No one checked on us until after 2 people had finished their meals. I ate slow trying to get my bernaise sauce for chicken imperial. When server told about it, i was told they were "out of bernaise". A chef should not be out of it...told manager aware. I would have picked something else. Nothing taken off bill. I had to ask if they would compensate in some way which was uncomfortable. When you mess up, give a free cocktail or something without customer having to ask. No one apologized. Dropped over $100. The best part-when contacted owner on May 30, she was going to send a gift card. I reminded her a few weeks later but it is now June 26. Disappointing! read more

Made a reservation for 10/5 at 6:30 via their voice mail system that reportedly allows you to makes reservations- arrived- someone had to go find the hostess who totally ignored us when we told her we had a reservation- ushered into the dining room- then ushered out of the dining room- no table available- no time frame offered- we told her we would go sit at the bar and have a drink- she never asked for our name- while sitting at the bar heard 2 other couples also waiting for a table- after 30 minutes decided to leave as none of the other couples had been seated either- tried to let the hostess know we were leaving- she was so deep in conversation we couldn't even get her attention- no matter- I doubt she would've remembered us anyway- bartender was efficient and attentive- what a shame- great location with fabulous views- read more

Amazing happy hour deals with $5 martinis and $5 apps. We've come twice and had Jessica as our server both times, she's amazing! We got scallops, clams, ceviche, enchiladas, wings, crab dip and quesadilla. All were delicious and great serving sizes for $5. We have a regular restaurant that we go to every Mother's Day. They were closed this year due to unforseen circumstances. I called around looking for a brunch to go to this year and found this place. We were excited to try the Kitty Knight because the reviews were pretty decent. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. The raw bar was awesome!!!!! The other food was what you would expect at a breakfast buffet. Cinnamon french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, danish, etc. The service was NOT good!!!!!! Our server was not prompt, disapeared, took forever with refills and we sat there for about 10 minutes waiting for the check. She seemed hurried and not happy and positive. I'm actually disappointed that I left such a big tip but as a previous server, I tend to tip well. I don't think I'll go back and IF I did, it won't be for Mother's Day brunch. read more

Read an article about the reopening of the restaurant and thought we would try the brunch on Sunday. The staff was friendly, prompt and the food was excellent in appearance,taste,portion and price. A big thank you to the owners and staff for a very nice Thanksgiving meal. In addition to great views, the staff couldn't have been more hospitable or accommodating. Very attentive, friendly service. With some prior notice, they offered to prepare a very tasty vegan entree to complement their Thanksgiving buffet. That is unusual outside a large city. Many thanks for an enjoyable meal and time with family. I understand the Inn is under relatively new ownership, and I've noted a few of the concerns mentioned by others. So disappointed. Drove almost an hour to get take out here. We needed a break from the quarantine and we planned to have take out in their parking lot and look at the water (beautiful view). My husband and I each got the sirloin & BBQ shrimp dinner. Ordered both steaks medium rare. Both were prepared medium well bordering on well done. The fried Brussel sprouts were absolutely tasteless - I think they threw them in a hot skillet with absolutely nothing else- no salt, no spices, no butter, no vinaigrette. If we'd been able to eat in I would have sent the steaks back. Instead we got to take an hour ride back home for a meal that was definitely not worth the time or the money. read more

What an incredibly beautiful evening of delicious and freshly made yummy appetizers , all had tasty new sauces and condiments; 6 of us could write great reviews! From perfect mushroom soup, crispy Caesar salad, yummy tender Bourbon chicken wings, cold good shrimp cocktail, home made chips and delicious salsa and guacamole. I choose - the beef rib stew it was ( delectable) and balance of veggies brith and lean meat, 2 had the piled high juicy hamburgers, truly the best 2-3 bite hand made pretzel roll bread served with appetizers ( u would go back if it was just the bread) beautiful wine choices or a simple class of ice tea was the best! The two desserts we tried the pumpkin mouse cake and triple layered chocolate cake with raspberry sauce! All over the top beautifully made and delicious- all perfect portions-served perfect temperature Our darling waitress was efficient (Taylor) and there to serve/ in a cozy darling cottage adjacent to the big " KN" It was an evening we will long remember We appreciated meeting Ruth the highly praised chef. I went to the Kitty Knight on a Saturday night and sat on the deck and it was wonderful! There was a band playing, the weather was beautiful, and all around the atmosphere was quite nice. We had Parmesan garlic wings for an appetizer, and a build your own burger for dinner--they were so delicious. The drinks were my favorite. I had a grapefruit crush and a Sallie's Spring Water--the fresh fruit was very refreshing on a very warm night. The server was extremely friendly and attentive, I never had to ask for a refill on my drink. The sunset and the view from the deck made the night even better! As Kent County residents, we were interested to know the plans for the property. Our server was very informative and let us know they just hired a chef and that the tavern was going to be opening sometime in October with their own full menu. We were elated to hear the news. So my wife and i stayed here and ate here for our 10 year wedding anniversary since we got married here. The room was horrible. There was no phone, no tv, no wifi, and no cell service. Making it very difficult for us to leave our kids with my mother in law since we had no way to be gotten ahold of. The food was ok. My wife described it best when she said they were trying to be upscale at a place that is using paper napkins. We probably wont go back to eat or to stay unfortunately. The staff was great but they didnt enforce any sort of mask restrictions on other guests. They however constantly wore their mask. read more

Went here recently for dinner. The outdoor space is beautiful and charming. The service on the other hand was not. We were seated for about 15 mins before anyone came over to us. It took a very long time to receive our food. My husband and I watched a group of four people come in a few mins after us, had three rounds of drinks and their food served to them long before we had ours. Wasn't impressed with the menu. There wasn't much too it. I ordered fish tacos. They were quite bland compared to other places I have tried around the area. Will probably not return here. I really enjoyed the view and thought the deck and bar were beautiful. Has a lot of potential but it's just not there. read more

We hoped for a nice Sunday brunch but when we arrived it took a few minutes to set a table up for the 6 of us. As we were seated we notice a woman take her check up to the stewardess and mentioned they were in a hurry and the water has not been by to pick up the bill. Then another gentleman approached the stewardess and asked to speak with the manager. Not a good way to start off! All this time we had not even had a waiter or waitress approach us. The food was amazing. It was so fresh and they even made us a few things off menu. My boyfriend wasn't a fan of their menu descriptions however. He got the shrimp and penne and was not expecting the olives, which he doesn't like. The only issue I had was my filet was not cooked the way I liked it. A lot of our food also came out on the cold side. The server was really nice! The whole experience just took way too long and our food took forever to come out. I've been here several times before for drinks and maybe a quick meal but this week I've gone twice for dinner. Although a little pricy, this place has great food and good service. I must comment on my Eastern Shore Crab Cakes, they were the BEST crab cakes I've ever had. Not one piece of shell! I've had really good crab cakes elsewhere but usually I find small pieces of shell. Also, these Crab cakes had more crabmeat than any other crab cake I've had, hardly any fillings. All of the other members in my party were completely satisfied with their dishes also, not one complaint. My only complaint is that because of a party reserving the main dining room, we had to sit in the tavern to eat and the AC must have been on the fritz. I enjoy Kitty knight house mainly for the memories of the 70s and some memorable current experiences. The food ranges from sensational to almost terrible. The service ranges from the best ever superb to uncaring and completely inattentive. One night the food is the best ever gourmet entree and service is professional, attentive every minute, with great ambience. The next time the food is letdown and servers are inattentive and disengaged completely, hence it wasn't totally worth going. We still go because there is that 40-50% chance of a superb meal. I wish it could be consistent. I think quality control and attentiveness to food and staff all the time would help. Like other posters say, they do weddings and I do think that's there bread n butter. read more

Four of us went to date night recently. The food was good but the service was terrible. We were told there would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table. Half the tables were empty! We finally sat down, no waiter. Fifteen minutes later he comes by and takes our order. Another 15 minutes go by and were told two of the items we ordered, they didn't have. More time goes by and we get our wine. Huh, no corkscrew. Dinner finally comes out and we ask for water. We finished dinner and still no water. We never got the water. When asked if we wanted desert, of course we said no. Lord know how long that would take. Besides the twenty minutes wait, we got up two hours after we sat down. As much as we'd like to go back, it probably won't happen. read more

We had a spectacular experience - A warm Friday night. Arrived to live music on the deck, were quickly seated at our table on the deck under cover, with ceiling fans providing a nice breeze. The atmosphere was great. The food was even better. We started with the tuna ceviche, watermelon crudo, and margherita flatbread. All were excellent. Fresh, light, delicious. Then, my wife had the salmon, which she loved, and I had the red snapper with coconut curry, and asked for them to add a little kick to it. It was outstanding. We finished with the molten chocolate cake and some vanilla ice cream. That too was excellent. Two people eating that amount of food, you would think we would have been stuffed, but we weren't - everything (other than the dessert) was really light and seemed very healthy, in addition to tasting great. SHIP WRECKED!!! My family went to Kitty Knight for the first time on Sunday August 11th. It was a beautiful day and we sat on the deck. It started off kinda of rocky and just went bad quickly. Took forever for waitress to take drink order, and even longer for her to bring a beer and 2 mixed drinks. The brunch menu the appetizers were yogurt parfait and crap dip. When the waitress finally came to take order we asked can we get any other different appetizers the 2 listed she said not until 3 at this point but 10 minutes later saw tables ordering and getting wings it was like 2:30. So we ordered the crap dip and all order a lunch sandwich. So waitress never came back for any additional drinks had to ask 3 times for her to bring my 5 year old her lemonade I ordered. So 1 and 1/2 hours later she brings food when I asked we never received our appetizer she said well they ran out so they are making from scratch??? So I did not get my sandwich but the rest of table did now keep in mind I ordered a club sandwich doesn't even need to be cook took 15 more minutes for me to get my sandwich and behold the crap dip. So I asked to speak to manger well a lady came to table and said whats going on I explained the horrible experience the fact it took an hour and half and then 15 minute for my food and when received appetizer and the whole take literally got 6 french fries with sandwich order. So she said what do you want me to do said she would comp the crab dip and buy and round of drinks she would tell waitress, I said to her is there another manager I can speak with she told me she was the owner. WOW seriously I she never once said sorry. Never got round of drinks when huntered down waitress she said she didn't know anything WOW and I was like can we have our checks of course the appetizer was not comp and that was another 15 minute issue. The food was average at best my daughter grilled cheese was not edible it was hard as a rock with 1 slice cheese and her meal kids meal was 9.00 for grilled cheese and 3.00 for a small lemonade WOW they do not even have a kids menu. This restaurant is in a marina and its summer and it was not that crowded and the owner was beyond rude, and by the way after I spoke to her she sat down at a table with friends and was drinking some adult beverages, glad she really cares about her customers. Never disappointed with this place. The food is excellent, and the service is perfect. Can't beat the view of the river. Great history to the place (1800s), and even rumored to be haunted (always a plus)! This time around, I got the Chilled Platter, and the Duck! Tonight's dinner service was the straw that broke the camel's back. In the past I have just grown to accept the slow service but tonight was an all time low. 10 minutes to find a waitress followed by an agonizing 20 minutes to get my second choice beer, first choice was out. We went for dinner last night and had an overall good experience. The food was the shinning star of the night. We had the crab dip which WAS loaded with crab! It was wonderful and our waitress was on top of things and brought us extra peieces of toast when we ran out! I had the shrimp and grits which was delicious and flavorful. My BF had the rockfish which was just a delicious. He said the fish was amazing and the vegetables that came with the dish where so flavorful! We ended the night with a birthday brownie and a slice of pumpkin cheesecake...to die for!!! The only negative and my reason for not giving the last star is the restaurant is extremely loud. There where multiple large parties that kept there voices on high the entire evening. We had trouble hearing each other and our waitress. Then when it finally calmed down another group of people where seated next to us and we unfortunately could hear their entire vulgur conversation. But definitely not the restaurants fault people have no class. Would definitely try the sit at the bar area next time!! But an overall cozy wonderful evening. read more

Ate in the newly opened tavern on Saturday night. Nice cosy atmosphere, decent wine list but not enough options available by the glass. Apparently they just changed the menu. We tried the ginger calamari for an appetizer, which was a very unusual flavor combination. I couldn't decide if I liked it. I think the ginger was too overpowering - and I usually love ginger, so I would not order that again. The green salad and main dishes were very good, though. The short rib pot pie is rich and hearty - definitely try it if you are in the mood for comfort food! The lamb shank was very tender and went well with the root vegetable purée. We liked that you can choose your sides. The bacon cheddar mashed potatoes and flash fried Brussels sprouts were both delicious. Molten chocolate cake was good but not spectacular. The negatives: the coffee was weak and tasted awful. The service was pretty slow and we asked the server to light the candle on our table but she just switched it with a different unlit candle? Then another server lit the candle on the other table but not ours. I guess they still need to work on those little details that elevate the dining experience. read more

Our party of seven had a delightful evening. It wasn't sheer perfection but it was a well worth while experience. I really hate give bad reviews but this restaurant really depressed me. Such an amazing opportunity for greatness with the view and the food was flaccid at best. The service was slow and we saw our waitress a total of two times, once when she took the order, once when she brought the check. The food was medicare in taste, and not overly hot, one was of my sides was corn, and it was tepid. For the cost of a place that offers better serve and food I think I'll spend my money at that other place: I won't be returning it wasn't a good experience. read more

The Kitty Knight House has been my favorite for years. My wife and I drove 35 miles June 17 to meet my daughter and husband who drove 59 miles from Annoplis. Both my wife and I requested a baked potato in lieu of roasted potatos. I also requested salad in lieu of the vegetable medley. We both got the roasted potatos and I got the vegetables. We re requested the baked potato and me, the salad, which I got mid meal. My rib eye was very tough. I had forgotton about a situation a year ago when my wife and I, and another couple, were the only people on the deck. After a wait, I asked the other couple if someone would wait on us or did we need to get our drinks from the bar. They said a waitress would come. When the waitress brought the bill to the other couple I asked if she could take our drink order. She said she was not our waitress, but would send her. She never came so we went to the bar observing several waitresses hanging around the maitre d. We will not return. read more

Sailed in for an over night stay in Georgetown. The nice people at Sailing Associates gave us a boat ride over to the restaurant. We walked through the parking lot to get to the outside deck hoping to eat outside. But no luck. There's a great view of the harbor from the deck. I guess we'll try to get there earlier next time (they also had a live band after 8:00pm. Couldn't hear them that well from the inside). Dinner was good. I really liked the crab bisque. The service was good, but seemed a little confused at times. But we got what we ordered and the bill was accurate, so no complaints. My niece had her wedding reception here. Staff & facilities great. Large private dining area, dance floor, deck facing marina, private bar, buffet area, & lots of parking. Separate from Inn portion. Had so much fun that Hurricane Irene didn't ruin this event. read more
