Inflation does not exist in one of the few places of the world here at Burgoo. The food is top…read morequality with great ingredients at a price that cannot be beat anywhere else. Make sure you try the lobster bisque as it's one of the meatiest I've had to date; full of that shellfish flavour. The French onion soup is an eye catcher but the broth could use a bit more richness and flavour. Beef bourignon was suggested and I'm glad I took the friendly waitress' recommendation as it was a warm hug on a deep plate. I'd opt to swap for roasted potatoes instead of the mash but the mash does soak up all that delicious stew. The jambalaya is full of different proteins and if you're a fan of that, then I'd make sure to eat this perfectly cooked rice dish. I finished off with a banana bread pudding which was exactly that, banana bread in that bread pudding form; Personally I was hoping for bread pudding that was banana flavoured but it was still ooey gooey goodness. Burgoo should be packed to the brim with this menu for these prices and the friendliness of the staff!

We must like it, we even bought their cookbook to try some of the recipes, especially the Fondumental, which dragged us back there again and again. It wasn't nearly as plentiful or as yummy as we remembered it, but it's still good. The sandwiches and soups have always been rib sticking and tasty. The ambiance has remained the same over the years, a little dark, but the fireplace and the vintage posters are cool. Our server Gary was excellent, Johnny on the spot with all that we were looking for. Their wine and beer is all local, which is a thing these days. My lobster bisque with the FAB salad hit the spot, and the bread piece was exceptional. The lovely K had the onion soup which she liked although said it could use a little more salt. If you want to enjoy a hearty meal on the North Shore down by the water, but not on the water, give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

(They offered the bar immediately when we came in). Secondly, Ash was our server and she has a remarkable presence, very personable and her kindness shows through. I'd return just to see her. The food was also a hit, I had the Gold (rush?) Poutine with Berkshire Pork and truffle. This bowl was hefty and I'm kinda ashamed I ate every bite but it was so delicious. There was care and attention as they made this bowl because I was able to have topping on every bite. There were cheese curds on the bottom which had pull even at the end of the meal! The Brown butter hollandaise paired well with the truffle. And the pork was crispy and plentiful. The fries are so good and perfect vehicle for all the quality toppings. My spouse had the Gold standard waffle with bacon lardon and raved about the taste and texture of the waffle. Yep, we will be back!

After braving the cliff walk, the Cliff House was a perfect way to end my time at Capilano. We were a bit skeptical about attraction food, but this restaurant is exceptionally better than anything you would get at any theme park, except of course downtown Disney. We had a Caesar salad, chicken wings, and a house burger to share exactly what we needed after an extremely cold walk through the canyon. Our server was attentive, and the cabin style ambience was a nice touch, but overall was a bit pricey for this type of establishment, but the time we had on the canyon was memorable and 100% worth it. 3.5 stars for restaurant and 5.0 stars for the canyon experience.

It was not crowded when we visited on a weekday afternoon, and given that there was not a full house, the service surprisingly slow. It took a while to order and I could not get a water refilled until I grabbed a wait staff an hour later. However, the food was also surprisingly good. There were a lot of options to choose from, including kids meals. We got the Steelhead fish, House burger and the standard kids meals. All of the food was delicious and plated well. Given that you're inside the park, it's not overly pricey, but probably the best choice available.

The abundance of different, interesting pastries is what makes this place stand out in this little community. I remember my first time coming here, I had no idea what to get, did not read up on anything about this place, just was waiting for a co-worker who wanted to meet up for coffee at the place next door, and I decided let's go to this place instead, and wanted a little snack, and had their apple & cheese muffin (yes.. this odd combo) and it was history.... now everytime I go here I seldom leave with this item with my coffee. If you are wanting other things this place does have it, from cookies to croissants to a wide arrangement of baked goods, this place will make your taste buds happy. Also if you want to know they serve Illy coffee. It maybe the smaller coffee shop in the area, but it is the better coffee shop in the area too, it is small and cozy and a good place to just sit down and chill. So if you are in Edgemont village make a stop here, and if you have been to the other Bjornbar in Burquitlam, this is the better one!

Everything in the case looked delectable, but we decided upon a large peanut butter-caramel cookie that was still warm from the oven -- and was it ever good. It was made even better with a light sprinkle from the salt shaker. We also shared a Black Forest bar with frosting that tasted a bit refrigeratory; the chocolate sponge cake layers were dry but the cherry filling was tart-sweet and delicious. The patio provided a relaxing space to sit, sip and snack as we watched the denizens of this lovely neighborhood stroll by.
