Who doesn't love a good grill for a burger and a quick break. Food was good. Wish they had different type of fries though. Like maybe crinkle fries. That is a 'grill' type of fry. Don't ya think. Have driven crosstown more than once for their awesome panko french fries. The burgers are top notch, too. But I probably won't be making any special trips or promoting them to friends any more since they changed their fries to a run of the mill string fry. Everyone lived those panko fries. read more

Can only comment on the ice cream, but we went here because it's listed as an ice cream shop in Yelp. It's a bait and tackle shop connected to a small restaurant with ice cream in there. The ice cream is Herseys, and it's ok. The prices were high for the type of place it was in. My daughter said the cotton candy tasted funny, I am assuming freezer burn. Super Experience! The food was great, the staff was friendly and the place was clean. Great Eastern NC hamburgers and hot dogs are served here! The onion rings were really good as well. There were a lot of historical pictures on the wall related to the adjacent Cape Fear River and local area. We will be back and really want to try breakfast. Disappointing. A fast food restaurant would have been better. It's connected to a tackle and gun store. Food is not its strength.

The service and the people here were friendly, helpful and neighborly. VERY welcoming as soon as you walked in, both the employees AND the other patrons. That in itself earned the 3 stars. But that must be what keeps people coming back...because the food isn't anything to write home about at all, especially at the price. The burger was completely dry and overcooked. Ketchup couldn't save it. Fries are the battered type (frozen). The meat on cheesesteak was also very overcooked. Went there for the first time with one of my best friends. When we walked in I thought we were at the wrong place. All I saw was a bunch of fishing rodes. Then I looked to the right and saw a door to a grill. We both ordered the barbecue ribs with green beans and pasta salad. It also came with a peach and blueberry cobbler. It was absolutely delicious. It was really excellent- the service and food were better than I had expected. My husband had the Deep Creek Burger and I had the regular cheeseburger. A newer restaurant that has a kick booty grilled chicken cheese steak sandwich that will not leave you hungry. We ate their hot dogs (loaded) with sides of fries and fried okra. It all tasted excellent. The owner and his wife were very willing to cook what you want. They asked what we wanted and were willing to cook it up even if it weren't on the menu. They were very friendly and wanted to visit so they could explain their excellent offerings. They told of their yummy breakfast items as well. THE BEST HOTDOGS IN FAYETTEVILLE!!! I have to drive about 20 mins to get to this awesome place. I would gladly drive even further if needed. I have tried about every hotdog in Fayetteville and this place just has something special. It takes me back to my childhood when my uncle would pull me up to the counter to get one of the best hotdogs made. This place replicated that experience and improves on it. The fries are way better here than I remember from that childhood spot. The service is also top notch and everyone is very friendly. "In my opinion",,, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY. If there was a Lower rating than one star I would have left that. Just tried them today at 1pm Friday. Had to wait 30 minutes on them cooking a hamburger. It was so burnt and dry I couldn't hardly eat it. The fries were so old and cooked at such a high temperature they were orange in color and nothing but shell, the inside potato was cooked right out of them. Tables were dirty, no napkins and no paper towels in the restroom. They really need to go to school to learn how to be a grill or just go ahead and close down now and save the public the misery of eating here.
