Well folks I may not be crazy for the bbq but the Oxtail dinner is great. First this is only served on Sunday They open at 11 AM. If you get there too early it may not be ready or too late it may be gone. Plus there are no tables so eat in the car or go home. The oxtails were meaty and delish served with a gravy and rice.OutStanding. OH My the corn bread full of flavor and so moist. The best so far for me. The cole slaw is number 1 on my list. Food was horrible Mac and cheese mushy and garlicky! Chicken was tough and no taste. They have also changed the good French fries for the cheaper ones nasty. Was craving some BBQ and stumbled across this food truck online. Here is a recap of the food I tried. Brisket - 8/10 Very impressed. Moist and tender. I like to dip my brisket in bbq sauce and their sauce paired really well. Ribs - 7/10 Decent. Tender, good flavor, main downside was some of them didn't have much meat. Baked Beans - 8/10. Flavor profile right up my alley. Wish it had some small bits of pork or brisket in it. Mac n Cheese - 10/10. Some of the best Mac I've ever had. No complaints. Loved it! Garlic bread was amazing. I had a bite of a French fry as well and it was good. Lacked salt but that how I like mine. My son was wishing it had some. I wish they had a place to sit and eat. I don't have a lot of experience giving reviews, but this place is really good. I discovered it when I was driving for Uber eats and had to pick up for others ordering online. The smell driving up to the food truck is intoxicating! The flavor is rich with just the right amount of spice and kick. The only thing is you might have to wait in line for a while. read more

Wait time is ridiculous here. Pre-ordered through Yelp app which gave me close to a hour wait. Get there a little past LATEST arrival time and still food was not ready to pickup and go. WOW.. all of the negative reviews was a surprise to me. i took a shot. i pulled up and ordered. took about 25 minutes after i ordered. You should call in your order. they were busy. I watched them from the car filling orders the whole time i was waiting on my food. Very good grub. the sides were excellent. I ordered 2 meals. I ordered the pulled pork box with corn bread and collard greens. All were good. the sides were great. Collard greens were fresh and flavorful. cornbread was good also. my 2nd order was the bbq chicken box. corn on the cobb and cole slaw was my sides. corn was ok, cole slaw was very good. bbq sauce was very good. chicken with sauce was flavorful but a little dry. i will go back. read more

The BEST BBQ I have had hands down since moving to Florida. We went after church Sunday, yes there was a bit of a wait but it was sooooo worth it! I had rib tips dinner with Mac and cheese and greens, my kiddo had the chicken nuggets and fries. Everything is homemade and delicious, the Mac and cheese taste so good it'll bite you back! This place was the bomb a year ago. There was a couple pieces of rice in my pulled pork meat. The Mac & Cheese was very dry and hardly any cheese. I don't know if they switched cooks or just don't care anymore. There was a dead animal smell when I was paying for my food. I don't know if it was garbage or a near by dead animal. This place was recommended by a co worker here in Florida. I thought it'd be a great place for Soul food. I was looking forward to being able to order chicken and waffles, yams, hush puppies, deviled eggs and catfish. Instead it was a large truck in the middle of nowhere. It's more of a hot fire barbecue than medium temperature smokehouse. The food was sorely overdone. I think cardboard is less dry. I was kind of disappointed and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. One Of two saving graces for them was the attitude. Outwardly friendly and a great comedic show of smack talking. The other grace is the heavenly cornbread and the sweet garlic fried corn. The baked beans were sweet. The collard greens had bones that I suspect were from the ham hock. I ended up throwing away most of it and was glad that it was only $15. Half my portion of $30. I really was hoping that it would have been better because it seemed like a place I'd want to come back. I just went to Deep Down South BBQ and ordered sides only rice, potato salad, Mac and cheese, & collard greens and waited for over 30 minutes to be told there are tickets in front of me and I have to wait. I will never ever support this business again. I was asked if I would like to leave a tip when I paid and I had no problem doing so, but 30 minutes later I don't get it, I haven't even received my food and tipping for horrible service. I personally love deep down south and never had an issue with the food, the only problem is the wait times. I think it's ridiculous that multiple times I've called in an order and was told a 25-30 min wait window and then I get there and it's over a 1 1/2 hour wait for my food. We love the food and the staff are fantastic but we shouldn't have to wait in a parking lot for that long. All we were told when asking how long is left, was that "it's coming soon". Hands down THE BEST BBQ I have ever had in my life. Definitely the best in SWFL. I have been here several times, but this is my first yelp review. The food is ALWAYS amazing and, it's not too expensive. I ordered the wing and fries combo. My wings were honey BBQ. They were cooked to perfection as well as the fries. I placed my order on UberEats my order was ready for pickup 45 min after I placed the order arrived and ended up waiting another 45 min while they fill walk up orders. My daughter and I have been wanting to try the fried crabs during my visit to Ft. Myers. Much to our disappointment they were out of crabs that day. So I ordered wings and fries with house blend sauce and she ordered Carolina pulled pork. She made the better selection. Best overall comment - wonderful inviting aroma, generous portion size. I prefer grilled or smoked wings and forgot to ask. The wings are fried, which is ok, I like fried chicken. This is my 5th time coming here. The food is good most of the time. The wait usually is long. However, today the wait was 55 MINUTES for our food. Called in for pickup at 12:40, lady said 20 minutes. I get there and paid but no food. Waited another 10 minutes and still no food. So I asked the lady if I should come back and she said "yes I'm sorry. We're trying to get our catering out right now and we're doing the best we can." Well then don't tell me 20 minutes! Wow! My meals were BAD tonight! Ordered the Pork Chops. OVERCOOKED and too much seasoning. The sides were bland & lukewarm. They normally have a very good mac & cheese, however, today it was runny and tasteless. I did notice that the regular fry cook was not there tonight, so that's "probably" the reason for the pork chops fiasco. I will NOT order them again if the young lady is the fry cook. This place is a hit or miss on most occasions, depending on the work staff. My suggestion to the owner would be to train the staff to be more professional and to be more aware of the work areas, as they tend to be dirty and unorganized often. It might/would help if they change the oil/grease in the fryers as well. Bottom line, worth a try, but, remember I did give you a heads up!
