Don't waste your time trying to book online. I showed up to my appointment and turns out they needed me to call on the phone anyway to provide a credit card number. The appointment was set but they canceled it. It would've been best practice for them to actually call me on the phone if there was something missing underneath my appointment slot. What's the point of booking online? The girl at the front acted clueless. Didn't have any resolution such as booking a new appointment or expressing any apologies as a good buisiness is run. I can't say enough about Kelsey and how good she is, I have done major hair cuts, full and partial balayage, and various styles that fit my routine (when I became a new mom), and she has handled each request perfectly. I was so amazingly excited to start a relationship with this salon. Booked the 15 minute complimentary color consult with the stylist and had a great visit. I was ready to book my appointment! Then it went south. This salon requires your credit card information be held in their system in order to use their services and stylist. This is to "protect" their stylists from less than 24 hour cancelled appointments or no shows. That's exactly how I want to start a new business relationship. With a lack of trust. It's insulting. I have given you absolutely no reason to believe I won't show, will show late or some other offense. Secondly, in this world with constant cyber security threats, why on early should I leave my credit card information in your electronic system for you to keep for over 30 days before I've even had my first appointment? This week alone I've received three notices of cyber breach from retail, doctor and online vendors I've used. When asked if this was required the receptionist said yes and that all the "big companies" use the same software. I'm assuming she's unfamiliar with the hacks on big companies. I 100% understand the no show/late show experiences for stylists. To ask a potential client to put their personal data in your system/hands just in case trust is broken is a one sided ask. Run my credit, check my references, ask for a deposit. There are so many other ways to handle this but no alternatives were offered for a client that has valid concerns. This also smacks of ageism and economic discrimination. Not everyone has a credit card. I dropped in after lunch one day to make this appointment. No one told me of this policy. Fifteen minutes of MY time I am not compensated for with nothing to show for it. I sat in the parking lot for ten minutes after this encounter, on the verge of tears, and shocked by how condescending the receptionist was to a potential client. Thanks @DeepRootsATX for being so rigid and uncompromising And in your quest to protect your stylists, you lost one stylist an excellent client that is always on time and tips quite well. read more

I think this is the first time that a stylist actually fully listened to what I wanted and delivered! My husband pushed me to try Deep Roots over a year ago because he knew the owner from school. We are both all about supporting our friends businesses, especially when they're "Mom & Pop" and local. On the recommendation from a close friend with amazing hair I made an appointment with Heather and she has been consistent and incredible every visit. I have also had Megan, Chloe, Lauren and Journi's hands on my hair and again, they're incredible. The owner-stylist, Melanie, takes the time to develop each of her stylists and invests in their continued education and it shows. Everyone I've ever seen that works for the salon walks around with a smile and pride in their work and employer. It makes me instantly happy when I walk in not only because I know my hair is about to be even more fabulous than when I walked in but because of the joy that everyone inside exudes.
