I had a disappointing experience with Deer Springs where my mother faced mistreatment from Chrissy. Despite having accepted reservations, they abruptly canceled at the last minute because my mother wasn't a member. We understand the fact that now ot is members only, Chrissy made it very clear, it would have been nice if they asked that question first before making reservations for both partys involved Chrissy's unprofessional conduct, mocking, and laughter over the phone left my mother feeling humiliated. Such behavior is unacceptable and definitely not the way to attract new members or retain customers. My mother only wanted me to have a nice birthday and it could of turned into a membership for me and my father, is now a disappointment for the whole family. Not a member, but I come here to fill up water for my cooler every week. As far as water goes, it is tasty and not too expensive at 50 cents a gallon (as of 2024). Not let me tell you, I wish I was a member because you go inside the restaurant to pay and you see all the food they are preparing and it looks absolutely DELICIOUS. I get so jealous seeing other nosh on the delectables. The wait staff is always so friendly (they are the cashiers for the water). I've driven past this place about 10,000 times but I've never inquired about being a member is I heard it was in many cases prohibitively expensive coupled with a very long wait to get in. However is they say the next best thing to owning a boat is having a friend that owns a boat, is have a friend that is already a member. We had a special occasion to which we were invited to the club with another couple so there were six of us total. we brought our own wine as it was totally acceptable as long as the wine you brought wasn't something that they already had or sold. There is a modest corking fee however after six bottles of wine who's counting? And I was a designated driver for the crew so while the rest of the crew were able to enjoy bottles of caymus I got to pay attention to the food. Now I am not a seafood guy if you've read any of my reviews however they brought out a trout pate. Ordinarily I would gag the thought of having to eat trout pate but once you put it on a cracker it's actually pretty darn good. As I prefer from the land versus the sea I ordered the 10 oz filet. It was every bit of 10 oz and then some. It was seared at a nice crust perfectly medium inside and I had absolutely zero complaints. Guys we ordered every dessert they had and shared. father's place is not open to the public if you have the opportunity to go with a member don't pass that opportunity up. also if you are not a member and you try to pay that is not a possibility it gets billed directly to the member. read more

Been coming here for years to get spring water and have never experienced anything like I have the other day there or any other place in my life. What was different was I had my Mexican wife and son with me this time. I parked my car in the parking lot spots that clearly designated parking and got out of my truck as I normally do. Shortly after taking two steps towards the water a young lady crossed our paths and hurriedly made her way towards the building and an older lady came out soon after asking how could she help us I made it clear we were there to buy water she told us that this was a private club. I told her I was aware and was only there to buy water then a guy appeared with his arms crossed repeating what she just said then telling us he didn't want us wandering around the property and this was a private club. I got back in the truck and left being a white guy I have never experienced anything like that in my life what classless behavior I will never return to have my family humiliated like that again and if you belong to this private club you should be ashamed!! read more

I've here a few times. Their fish have always been very fresh. I would highly recommend getting seafood. For the trout, I would never recommend getting the St. Michael with mushroom style because it has very mild flavor. You better off getting the trout pan fried. Moreover, their calamari and trout pate are so delicious as well. Moreover, their grilled romaine is okay. I'm not a big fan of bacon in the grilled romaine salad. I think they don't mix together. Nonetheless, their home fries are the bomb. So crispy and tasty. I could have that for a whole meal. read more

Joe and B. are hands down the sweetest owners you'll ever meet... there son Tommy runs the place now.... and he is continuing with perfection. i love there fresh food and atmosphere you need to be a member or a friend of a member to eat here... so good luck =) read more

Dear Deep Springs, If you want to sell spring water and new memberships, your employees ought to learn customer service skills and common courtesy. If you are not interested in welcoming new customers, then post a "private" sign at the entrance so no one new comes in. I've never eaten here. But as a child i came here most weekends during the summer to fill up gallons of fresh spring water. This was so popular before the advent of bottled water, that sometimes there would be a line of up to a half dozen cars waiting to fill up. Keep in mind, this was just a couple of faucets in the space of a garden patio. I guess you can fish there, too, but you need to be a member. The going price was 20 cents a gallon. Beats that 60 plus cents we pay at the store now. And this stuff was certified real deal spring water, not reverse osmosis toilet water. And it's in Chardon, not Willoughby. read more

Deep Springs is probably one of my favorite places to visit. Nothing beats the tranquil scenery on a warm summer day..and a visit with the pet goats. I've been coming here since I was a teenager and I can't wait until they open every spring. Pan-fried trout is always delicious and fresh but the ribs and steaks are also amazing. The tomato salad with creamy dressing or the cucumber salad are the perfect start to the meal. For sides I love the pan-fried potatoes but season veggies are a must try. Tom and his family are so warm and welcoming, the Trout Club feels like a second home! read more

We just had dinner here tonight. We are new members and enjoyed a lovely dinner with current members. The pan fried Trout is amazing, having been swimming in the stream just minutes before. The dining is old world camp/clubby, and rustic and elegant at the same time. The menu is extensive and they offer many selections other than Trout. The grounds are spectacular and everyone staff and owner are charming and very welcoming. Bravo for a fantastic dinner; the first of many to come! read more

Signs are not clearly marked as to how to get water or enter parking lot. Private club and they are very strict about "wandering" so do not park in the parking lot or walk from your car. read more

This seems like a really nice place, until you go in and try to get a seat for a meal with your family, and are rejected because you're not a member. You'd think that they would let you know before you get out and walk in that it's members only. But you don't find that out until you walk in and then and they say, sorry this is for members only. read more

The food here is outstanding, everything is made fresh and I'd highly recommend any of the fish at anytime, especially the pan fried perch or trout. The sweet tea is also probably the best i've ever had from anywhere, I swear the must put drugs in it or something. My only real knock is the prices, everything is ridiculously expensive and generally I don't complain about it since the food is always good, but it doesn't have any of the makings of a very nice restaurant except for the food to justify the high price. The natural scenery is nice but the wrought iron tables and chairs to the patio enclosed dining area can't justify a dinner in the same price range as an elite gourmet restaurant. I visited Deep Springs as a guest of a friend who's a member. The area was beautiful and relaxing. Very well maintained and just full of a Norman Rockwell charm. We all caught some trout and the staff cooked it for us. The staff was ALL very attentive, cheerful and professional. The grounds were perfectly maintained.. They even sell spring water right from the tap! Our meals were great. In fact, I was told by my host that I could actually have half of my trout prepared one way and the other half, yet another way.... Both were awesome. What a great find... I'll be back. read more

Also they take reservations, it is good for kids, you can bring your own wine or liquor, the fish is as fresh as possible since they are on site alive. THE BEST food in the Cleveland area. Best ribs I've ever had anywhere in the country, including Memphis and Texas. My favorite trout club for the best trout pate and any other item on the menu. The trout sandwich is always tender with a great coating complemented by the tomato and lettuce surrounded by the mayo. I have never had a so so meal there only superior quality and taste. read more
