Much like Lewis M., this review is based on an experience I had with this company and Darwin. Not only is the lack of communication atrocious, but when I finally spoke to him, he was rude, unprofessional and socially awkward. Before I get into details of my events, I will jump ahead for a second and tell you that I will not be using Deepools as a contractor assigned by First American Home Warranty (FAHW), and I was assigned a new contractor. That contractor Unified Contractors out of Upland, CA. A quick Yelp review of that company revealed a person named "Eduardo G" left five start reviews, for both Deepools and Unified Contractors, on the exact same day (03/07/2025), and even referenced the same issue that was fixed by both companies. (see attached). That seems almost impossible. Judge for yourself. Here are the experiences I had: Friday 3/21/25 - Pool filter cracks in two places at the bottom. Sunday 3/22/25 - FAHW, paid $95 service fee. Advised I would be contacted within 48 hours to schedule an appointment. Monday 3/23/25 - Received a text stating Deepools Pool Service and Repair is my contractor and my service appointment was for Thursday 3/27/25 with a time frame of 8am to 6pm. Why the 10 hour gap? Minutes later, received a call from "Darwin" at Deepools reiterating what my time frame is. Asked him if I could have a smaller window for service and I was told, "No." Informed him that on that day, my wife and I work and I would have to try to make arrangements to be home for appointment. He told me that I could leave my side gate open and nobody needed to be home. For obvious reasons, I told him absolutely not and that I will find a way to be home for the time frame he provided. Thursday 3/27/25 (date of service) - Boss allowed me to take the day off to be home. At 8:56am, received a phone call from "Darwin," and he informed me that my window of service was now 2pm to 4pm. Although I wasted vacation hours to be home all day, I was ok with this as I just wanted my pool filter addressed. I also asked if he could contact me if he was going to be behind because I had things to do, in a robotic and monotone voice, he said, "Your window is from 2 to 4pm Sir." Darwin was not at my house inside the time frame he told me he would be. Darwin did not call or text to inform me of his reason for being late. I tried to call him twice at 4:05pm to check on his status and was sent to voicemail immediately. I tried to leave a voicemail message but the mailbox was full. 4:17pm, still no Darwin. No calls, or texts either. I called FAHW who then had to get ahold of him, and then he eventually calls me. I asked him if he was nearby. He said he had another stop to make before me. I reminded of the 2 to 4pm window and he said he was running behind. Asked him why no text or phone call as a courtesy and he asked, "Do you want the appointment or not?" I replied it's 2025, you could call or text. He then stated he was standing in a driveway and the longer I spoke to him, the longer that customer waits and the longer I wait. I asked him if I was inconveniencing him with my expectations of a company representing FAHW and he stated, "They don't pay my salary, and I don't work for you. I said that my $95 service fee says otherwise and he said, "I don't have to update you," and then said, "I can access your side yard if you have somewhere to go." I told him I don't allow random strangers to wander on my property and he stated, "99% of my customers let me through the side gate." I said, "That's not me," and he replied, "Well then you're part of the 1% that will have to wait." At this point, I no longer had plans more important than having a face to face conversation with this shady, unprofessional repairman and told him that I will see him shortly. He replied, "You're not my father and you're not going to talk to me that way." I asked, "Talk to you how? By calling you out on your B.S. and holding you accountable?" He hung up. Moments later I got a text message saying Deepools canceled my appointment. Now, I called FAHW and asked how is this possible that I pay $95 and this guy has the authority to cancel my appointment without me having a say so? Now, it appears the new contractor I have after I called and complained to FAHW, is just as bad as this guy based on the reviews. Word of advice to anyone who is not satisfied with this guy, you have to complain to the home warranty company, not just here. This appears to be a one-man operation, or at best a small setup with one additional service person working under someone named Darwin, who has been extremely unprofessional throughout my experience. They present themselves as a larger company, but their behavior suggests otherwise. Darwin shows no understanding of proper post-installation service, repairs, or addressing issues related to defective equipment. He does not respond in a timely manner, lacks the manpower to correct his own installation mistakes, and has been extremely difficult to deal with. Based on my experience, I do not recommend their services--save your time and money. My next step will likely be to file a small claims case. If you end up working with him, make sure you obtain a proper invoice. Even if he asks for cash, insist on a written receipt from him or his service person. Fortunately, I did obtain a receipt, and I will be having my attorney address this matter accordingly. read more

We had this company come out through our home warranty. The guy cancelled our appointment for at least 5 days. Once he did come he notice a crack with our filter lid which was fine in itself l, but he never looked beyond that issue to diagnose what our true issue is! His report to the home warranty company stated that it was not normal wear and tear. He blamed me for tightening the lid too much, but the deeper issue is that I have excessive water pressure happening when the pump turns on. The excessive water was putting too much pressure on the lid which cause it to crack. Could it have been too tight? Possibly, did he diagnose the entire problem as we paid for? NOT EVEN CLOSE! The lid has been replaced and water still gushes out for the first 10 seconds. The guy never once looked at my equipment to diagnose the issue, and yet blamed the issue on the home owner. Not only that, he delayed the same day appointment for at least 5 hours because he "had a flat tire". I am just stating the FACTS, (not opinion) about our encounter. BE VERY AWARE and do your own research. I have the invoice to prove all of this also, this is all fact. He seems like a nice enough guy, that is great, but the performance and professionalism was not there at all. Highly disappointed and would never be able to recommend this company. read more

Much like many of the reviews, our experience, unfortunately, wasn't great. I was really hoping to have a smooth process, but that wasn't the case. We opened a service request with our home warranty company on 09/03. The first company assigned to us never contacted us, so the job was reassigned to Deepools on 09/05. On 09/09, Deepools finally contacted us and came out the same day to assess the issue with our pool filter. At that time, the technician mentioned that the warranty might not cover the repair as they don't cover cartridges--but the filter was leaking from the bottom, which we believed was unrelated. By 09/12, we followed up with Fidelity and were told they still hadn't received a report from Deepools. Then, on 09/16 at 9:58 AM, I contacted Fidelity again, and they still had no update. Just 10 minutes later, I received a call from Deepools stating the claim was denied because "cartridges aren't covered." When I called Fidelity for clarification, I was told the claim was actually denied based on Deepools' report, which said the filter was cracked due to high pressure. This was confusing and frustrating. At no point during the initial visit or follow-up call did Deepools mention anything about high pressure being an issue. Our pool is professionally serviced weekly, and the pressure is consistently monitored. To be clear: this review isn't about the denial itself--we understand certain things may not be covered. This is about the lack of communication, the inconsistent and unclear reporting between the contractor and warranty company, and the overall poor customer experience. read more

This is regarding a service (or lack thereof) through Fidelity National Home Warranty, through which we paid the $90 service call fee. The service was scheduled bizarrely. They appeared to have a chat scheduling service, but nobody was on the other side of the chat. Several days later they sent an appointment time with a day-long window (without checking to see if we'd be available). The tech called in the morning and set a 2-hour window. The tech was perfectly pleasant, but didn't fix the problem. Took a water sample and left. Days later, Fidelity National Home Warranty told me that they would not fix the issue, because it was caused by a chemical imbalance. We have a weekly pool service, so I doubted that was the cause of the issue. When we asked Fidelity National Home Warranty for the report from Deepools, they told us it was "proprietary." We reached out repeatedly to Deepools to ask for the report (via phone, text, and email), but they did not get back to us at all. read more

First and foremost, this review is based on my experience and lack of communication with Dee Pools on their part, not mine. They were referred to me by First American Home Warranty. And very similar to the other reviews of how they treat home warranty customers seems very similar with experience and lack of communications from them. 1. On March 16th filed claim with FAHW. FAHW texts me the morning of the 17th, that the Deepools will be at my home on the 17th, tells me the window of his arrival is between 8am-6pm. But i make sure i have someone there that can let him in. Knowing i am not present for the inspection, he then calls me to tell me that water got into my pool pump and that's why it's damaged. Also tells me the model of pool pump i have is discontinued, and the pump needs to be replaced with a newer better model which he recommends and tells me his new recommendation is a 2 speed pump, not like the one I have. Funny because i had the broken one replaced less than 2 years ago, by FAHW and it was a 2 speed pump. That's the first clue, that makes me doubt the claim about why the pump was damage, tells me he didn't really look at it. Then he tells me if he's honest with FAHW about why it broke, they won't cover it. But begins to tell me he won't tell them unless they ask! Again very shady of him, tells me if they approve it, that for him to install his recommend pump, that I would have to pay $500 additional dollars to have this newer version hooked up and reconnected. 2. March 18th, FAHW sends me email that my pool pump has been approved for the repair, and my contractor will call me within 3 days to set up another appt. to come out. 3. March 21end of day still no response by the contractor, so I call him, he then tells me he's busy the following week and not sure when he can come back. Ask me to text him my info and he would call back, which he didn't. 4. March 24, I call FAHW and explain the situation and lack of communications of Dee Pools, and then i ask about the pump, and they tell me they approved another refurbished motor to replace on my current pump that broke. And that Dee pools is still asking that I pay $500, I explain to Home warranty, why am i paying $500 out of pocket if there is nothing new to reconnect, and the pump motor is for the same one I already have. They tell me they will contact Dee Pools to find out why there is an additional charge. They said i needed to wait 48 hours for a response. 5. March 27- no one has called me, not Dee Pools or home warranty. I call them, they confirm Dee Pools is still asking I pay the $500 first. I explain to Home warranty and a supervisor that it doesn't make sense for the additonal charge if nothing new is being updated or disconnected and reconnected when it came to the electrical line or the PVC attached to the pump. I then demand they send me a different company, being the current one they recommend is trying to take advantage of another home warranty customer they sent to my home! FAHW is sending me another contractor and there won't be any additional charges for the 2nd opinion. Hopefully this company is more honest than Dee Pools. 6. After coming on yelp and google the reviews from other Home Warranty customers about their experiences with Dee Pools, it seems this is their tactic to take advantage of other consumers as well. I would avoid them, and honestly the reviews that have no other reviews but rate them with high stars, must be their friends and family trying to make them look good. I don't believe them to be honest, and I would avoid them at all cost. read more

Had a service request with my Warrenty company last week. Thursday. At 11:00am I called went to voice mail left a message no call back, then I tried again this time a female answers. I proceed to request an appt. She said she hadn't received the work order, I had my AHS app open i asked can she use the dispatch number. She advised she couldn't see it and said " we can probably " go out to you on Monday. Gave me the techs number. Called sent a video of my problem and was being proactive. He to also said " he wasn't at the office to see the schedule. But could probably come out Monday" so since Thursday and Friday I couldn't get a confirmation from anyone. My husband called on Friday, spoke to Gardenia, she mentioned nothing said she spoke with me and again " we can probably come out Monday" saying the tech will call me Monday to let me know the time. I'm feeling uneasy why is the word " Probably" being used? Just so happens Ganis with AHS escalation dept called me to check on things and service? I said I don't have a confirmation appt just a tentative day that they said " probably" and I'm going to give them grace and hope they call me by the end of the work day. The tech called on Friday spoke to my husband, the connection was failing kept dropping and then they spoke briefly Friday, we're still at this point with a tentative appointment for Monday, husband and I were still just as confused and both left feeling uneasy but hoping for the best. This morning Garis called me again a lil after 8:00am to ask how was the appt going, I said I have no formal call confirmation for arrival of today's appt. Garis, called them put me on hold. Came back and told me that they said they haven't received the work order. I said how I spoke to " a lady there after 11ish on Thursdays I gave her the dispatch number. I called ahs Thursday told them she didn't have it they re sent it to her again Thursday told me if I talk to her all I have to do is give her the dispatch number and to advise they resent it again. Now garis telling me Monday morning that there rep says it's not been received since Monday and they cancelled us and didn't inform us anything not one call or text. Oh but he did text me with a voice note at 8:51am telling me " we open at 9:00am and that is why we haven't called no one" Oh no buddy, you can call sarcastically about that but can call back or your office call us to set an appointment up or advise of cancellation on Friday told advise you didn't have a work order. It's called "Dropping the ball " and lack of communication on your end to just the day off cancel an appt. I ended up canceling the work order from them Went with a more communicative reputable company I have had service with before.
