Breakfast burritos to start the new year from Valerie's. They don't come with potato's but you can add if you want, they're fries. Burritos made it home large still hot and in charge. Not even mad that mine didn't have potatoes as it's just more filler and these babies were packed with eggs,cheese and bacon / one with ham. Fantastic breakfast burritos. In the parking lot of Winco, this shop has some indoor seating. You order at the counter off their simple, but plentiful menu. The service was prompt and attentive, and when asked if they have tostadas (couldn't find it on the menu), the cook said yes. Several parties were enjoying their dinner at their tables, but several were also ordering take out. We ordered a bean and cheese burrito and a bean tostada, to-go. The refried beans made the burrito a bit dry, but it was still decent with their salsas. Sometimes wet frijoles make a burrito messy and smash out, you know? Their frijoles are on the drier side so they stay put. Their flour tortilla is great! The tostada was made with a freshly fried tortilla with a nice serving of beans and lechuga to make a light dinner. The fact that they had queso (in addition to shredded cheese) was a huge plus! I decided to give them a second chance since I frequent their other location on Emerald regularly and have been super satisfied with them. I visited the El Camino location twice for breakfast burritos. The first time was awesome. The second time, I found two hairs in my burrito. I just let the first one go, as this happens more than we probably know. After finding the second one, I went in and showed it to the representative and told her she should be wearing a hair net. First time coming here. We stopped in after a movie...pretty late, around 9pm on a Saturday night (and Mexican Independence Day no less). It was not busy. Parking was easy, but it took a couple of minutes to get serviced as the person on-duty was busy filling up the salsa bar. We ordered the 5 rolled tacos, Cali and Bean & Cheese Burrito, Diablo and an El Hefe taco. Service was pretty quick, and we got to check out their salsa bar - which, I must say, was quite impressive. I noticed a lot of other quick Mexican food places don't have a salsa bar, or lost it during covid, so it was nice to see so many options here. This is a huge plus in my book. Everything was excellent. The fries in the Cali burrito were actually crispy, not soggy. The rolled tacos came with carne asada on top! What!? This is so unusual but really awesome, and for only $8. That being said the $5.50 Taco sounds expensive but it's VERY large so to me it's worth it! Saw someone eating some delicious looking tacos and immediately regretted my decision to order burritos. My issue was that the salsas were so spicy as to be basically inedible (and I generally love spicy food!!). My husband licked the top from the light orange salsa and said it was so spicy he couldn't taste anything else while eating the first 1/3 of his burrito. The carne asada in the burrito was heavily spiced, maybe a little too much so. So the California burrito had beef, French fries, and cheddar cheese. No rice, beans, lettuce. Add your own salsa. Extra for sour cream or guacamole. The grilled seafood tacos were sopping in a not so tasty creamy sauce to the point where the tortillas were unrecognizable mush. Just discovered some good eats at Valerie's and have to share. This one location in particular was highly recommend by a local including but not limited to burritos (Surf and Turf), tacos Al pastor, Diablo taco w/ battered shrimp, grilled shrimp, grilled mahi, and sides. Tortillas, drinks, etc are all made in house. But the churros stole my heart with their warm cinnamon sugar crispy outside and a creamy center. Loved them so much so I had the husband order several more for midnight snacks. The unlabeled sauce bar needs to come with big letter warning: the pop small cups will set mouth on fire.
