The employees here were downright rude to me and my boys yesterday. Unfortunately, the smoothies were made in a blender where the motor was burnt out and the smoothies tasted like burnt rubber - completely inedible. When I asked the worker to remake them, he picked up a dirty blender from the sink and dumped the smoothie mix in it (I now know these smoothies are just a sugary liquid mix with no real fruit whatsoever in them- yuck!!). The guy making our drinks was rolling his eyes and acting put out the entire time we were there and the general atmosphere of the store was dingy and dirty. I put the smoothies in the trash outside and took my kids down the street elsewhere for a smoothie made with real fruit and better service (we found it and this was our last visit to Deja Vu!). I've been coming here for four years for my healthy green juice fix after nights of AYCE kbbq and lengua burritos the size of my forearm. It's practically across the road from the Caltrain station. The staff is quick and the ingredients are fresh. For those mornings I get GREEN WELLNESS which is kale, parsley, lemon, apple, celery, cucumber, ginger, and spinach. It tastes more gingery and gets spicier towards the bottom, you've been warned. The only downside is they close kind of early but I suppose not many people want juice past 5 PM. 5 stars for my juice... YUM! The Dr. Oz is fresh and light and I highly recommend it. Despite being velvety and refreshing, it could still almost be a meal by itself given how many veggies are packed into it. 3 stars for my veggie crepe. The crepe part was sort of hard yet not as cooked as I wanted it to be, and didn't have much flavor. The filling was decent but ended up tasting mostly like salad dressing. Looking at other crepe photos, I think this place does deserve a second chance, which I am happy to give. Decided to try this place out on my lunch break. Ordered through Google who I think passed it off to Postmates and after ordering received a text message saying it would be 35 minutes. I was only a block away so I decided to park and walk in. The older gentleman who was running the show got me taken care of right away, in and out. I really wanted to love this place. It's actually not very healthy. 1. The deli meat was sitting in the open. 2. They put sugar on salad. I caught him mid sprinkle to say no thanks. 3. They don't wash the produce. I saw him rinse quickly. It's a small place, you can watch them make it all. 4. Slowwwww. He was studying the menu for what to put into the food. 5. My mom got a swollen lip from her sandwich. She only gets that when something is dirty or not fresh. Very sensitive. 6. Depending on who makes your meal, it can taste different or be super small. 7. He cut someone's sandwich with the same knife as when he cut the fruit and lettuce on a different order. I couldn't believe my eyes. I see everyone getting the Dr Oz juice and I can see why it's a hype. I'm sorry everyone but go elsewhere. I understand this is a business with people trying to do their best but also, I think honest feedback is necessary. I'm a pretty healthy person, I love fresh fruits and veggies and juices. I'd been here a few times prior and it was mediocre, noting awful but nothing very special about it. A friend recommended the juice cleanse they offer and boy, it was horrible. First, the price. $138 for 9 juices? What a ripoff. Second, they don't give you the juices, they expect you to pick them up everyday. And the owner talks it up like if you bring back the mason jars he's saving you a bunch of money? Whatever. Third, the juices themselves are just gross, and very inconsistent in taste. They barely wash their produce, I watched a girl rinse kale for 2 seconds before shoving it in the blender. I even couldn't bring myself to finish the lunch or dinner juices on day one, they made me physically gag. The owner touts that he's lost so much weight with the juice and gives a very infomercial feeling to the way he talks about the place. He lost me when he said you lose weight on the cleanse, that's just ridiculous; any weight loss on a 3 day cleanse is just dehydration, de-bloating or just a normal fluctuation. After reviewing the menu, I ordered their 'green wellness.' EXPERIENCE: As I was paying, I asked if they had a 3day juice cleanse. The man was resourceful in showing me their 3 and 5 day cleanse option. He pointed out that the produce they used were organic. That was a plus. When I asked for total calories per day, he said they were good calories and it didn't matter. I then asked for nutritional values and he said that everything in his juices were healthy and it didn't matter. I think you should know at least a ball park of the nutritional value of the products you sell especially when it comes to your (picky) health conscious customers. Amounts of sugars and calories can make a difference in some some medical circumstances. Lastly he said that no one can beat the price of the cleanse he offers. $42 per day and this is not including the jars that they come in. At this point I didn't bother to ask because I know for a fact that this isn't the cheapest around especially if he was going to charge me a bottling fee for them as well. PRODUCT: It was a good juice - nothing extraordinary. But, when I'm searching for a juice cleanse type juice I'm not expecting to be completely 'wowed' anyway. It was served to me luke warm; I would have preferred it to be colder considering it was kinda warm outside. It did taste fresh and the produce he showed me did look of great quality. Over $9 for my 16oz juice. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes I would, but only if i don't feel like driving further for a freshly pressed juice that I was too lazy to make at home for a fraction of the price or order from someplace cheaper. LINGERING THOUGHTS: Know the right answers to your customers questions or just be honest and say you don't know if you don't. Know who your competitors are and their prices. These two remind me every time. The atmosphere is loud due to the 50 horsepower blenders and the turbo injected juicers. If you want to become super saiyan take the wheatgrass and ginger shots with some cayenne. I don't think I'll get sick of this place or sick at all. I'm also savvy enough to know that all organic produce (assuming stickered correctly), uses a five digit product number beginning with a 9. Deja Vu juice has plenty of green juice and fruit smoothie options, but no options for green smoothies. They allow you to create your own green smoothie but it would be nice to have some inspiration. There were also fruit smoothie options, but I was surprised they offer ice cream as an option. For a healthy juice joint, I didn't think they would have such an option! The juice (so unpalatable so I don't remember the name) I ordered was extremely warm which is understandable from the juicer. When I asked for a cup of ice for my warm juice, the employees seemed shocked! I guess people like their green juices... Warm? My sister tried one of the fruit smoothies and it tasted like ice cream blended with fruit syrup. It was also extremely sweet!! Overall I'm a bit underwhelmed by déjà Vu juice. What a scam. I do a lot of my own juicing so I know what I'm talking about... Lots of fresh vegetables on display but old not taste ANY in the drink. Unfortunately these guys seem to be capitalizing on a healthy juicing trend and will quickly pack up and disappear once locals realize these guys are scammers. If you do go keep a watchful eye to pressure them into putting the actual vegetables in your juice. For example I ordered the coconut oil option (and paid an additional fee) to go with my juice, they dumped cheap coconut flakes in lieu of high quality coconut oil. read more

Coming to this place opened me up to a world of amazingness and it's called the Burlingame Shopping District. I didn't know this existed but I wish I did. Bougie shops in a posh area. I love it. I come here for their healthy, freshly juiced drinks that make the rest of the day amazing. I like the Dr. Oz which has kale, apple, lemon, cayenne and other healthy stuff. They also serve crepes that I am going to try the next time I go in. Staff is friendly and they make your order really quickly. I love the juices. I get one every day unless travelling. I think I have tried every variety including some Sal (the owner) has made up for me to try. Highly recommend and will keep you healthy. He is always updating the juices and trying new ones. It is also a nice place to take the kids, my 5 and 7 year old kids love the crepes and we enjoy sitting looking out the window onto Burlingame Avenue or on a nice day sitting out side.
