If you're looking for a classic frozen yogurt spot, Yumi Yogurt has got you covered. This family-owned business has been serving the Bay Area since 1985, with locations in San Mateo, Redwood City, and Santa Clara. They offer two distinct styles of soft serve: Flavor Burst, which is vanilla custard swirled with a flavored syrup for a striped effect, and Frozen Yogurt, which features whole-flavored soft serve. All options are available in either a cup or a cone. - Chocolate Burst -- vanilla frozen yogurt swirled with chocolate syrup along the edges, creating a classic striped effect; portion size was generous (easily double the size of the cup), ideal for those who enjoy a vanilla-forward base with just a hint of extra flavor On a later Friday evening, the shop was still buzzing with customers. The line moved quickly, with just a few groups ahead of us. Pricing falls in line with standard Bay Area dessert spots: $7 for a small, $8 for a medium, and $9.50 for a large as of 2025. Service was fast and friendly. While there's no indoor seating, there's a spacious patio area with plenty of tables and chairs outside. I'll definitely be coming back soon to try more of their flavors -- the Chunky Fudge Brownie and Caramel Fudge Vanilla both caught my eye.
Wish we could give half star. This is a solid 4.5 stars. We were washing our car nearby and decide to make the walk over for some yummy yogurts. It was well worth the rush and the calories. Service was slightly slow but they do give a lot of options. Store seems clean. We would love coming back again. We all enjoyed our treats. There was no sharing this time
I always enjoy Yumi Yogurt. The line gets LONG and as of now, the medium size is a little smaller than before. I usually get almonds in mine. Staff are nice. They have a variety of options including low sugar options which I appreciate. I usually get the original tart and some chocolate variety. Sometimes the Wow Cow or the regular yogurt. That's nice that they have a variety of toppings too. The line can get long when it's really hot. This is a staple in this area...I've been going here for years. I recommend!
I stopped by late evening for a dessert. There seems to be dedicated fans for this dessert. People by in pints and stock up. I got a 3 scoops. Quantity was real huge. Butter pecan, pistachio and caramel coco macadamia were my flavors. All were good flavors. May be I liked the Caramel coco macadamia flavor sligtly more.
I was given a really generous serving, and I did not complain. It was SO! good. Unfortunately, I can't find froyo in my town, so it's a rare treat for me. There was a long line, but the staff worked well together and were so efficient. They kept it moving, and they were very friendly and helpful. I really loved that they have allergens displayed--there were a few options labeled gluten free, but I'm not sure how careful they are about cross contamination.
I don't typically have a sweet tooth but lately I've been craving ice cream/froyo, so I was in the area and had to stop by Yuma Yogurt for a sweet treat. When you first walk in, you'll notice they have a ton of ice cream options and on the TV you'll see the froyo options. I decided to go with the strawberry froyo with oreos and peanuts. The perfect complement of sweet and salty. The consistency is thick yet smooth, and it's froyo done right. My only suggestion would be to make the Oreo pieces smaller. I'm the type that just needs a couple bites and I'm good but they ran out of small cups so ended up with a medium size and pretty much ate the whole thing lol. Lots of nostalgia as this is a spot that's been here forever, and never disappoints whenever I'm in the need of some delicious froyo
Hidden gem in the Bay Area! Serves a HUGE volume of frozen yogurt that spirals so high over the actual cup and it actually tastes so good because they're sweet, not tart. Even the small is a lot so definitely recommend sharing with others. If you're hungry, I've finished a small myself but normally I split a medium or large with 1+ other people. FYI they have multiple locations and they all post their flavors on Facebook and Instagram (they change daily). I've been to most of their locations many times, probably my favorite dessert place in the Bay. My favorite is birthday cake but also love the toffee, nutella, and red velvet flavors. I remember one time they had a god tier lineup of birthday cake, toffee almond, and nutella kit kat all in one day, I was in heaven!! If you're calorie-conscious or want to consume large quantities of froyo guilt-free, would recommend getting their wow-cow or carbo-lite flavors. They taste amazing and you don't feel like you're skimping out at all just because they're lower calorie. This location has smaller parking lot, maybe 10 spots or less but the line goes quick so cars should turnover relatively fast. They have a covered seating area outside with some fans, which is great when it's hot and sunny. They used to be cash only a long time ago but take credit card now. Would recommend eating there over taking it to-go because when you do takeout, they have to smash down the froyo with a lid and it (a) doesn't look as aesthetic and (b) I feel like you get less froyo in order to make it fit.
I've been craving fro-yo for the longest time and I'm sad that over the years, most places have moved away or closed down. It's getting more difficult to find a place locally that still offers frozen yogurt that tastes great and not as artificial as other places. When I found out about Yumi Yogurt, I was floored and wanted to go IMMEDIATELY. My husband and I went sometime last month on a weekend because I had the BIGGEST craving for fro-yo, and I'm SO glad I came here. Yumi Yogurt does have a small parking lot and some tables/chairs set up so you can eat your treat there. This is down the street from Hillsdale Mall; it's not connected to it. I had to do a U-Turn into the parking lot, which was great. Even during an early afternoon, this place had a line out the door filled with families all craving the same thing. Yumi Yogurt not only offers frozen yogurt, but there is a huge selection of ice cream and toppings to choose from. My husband and I wanted to try the fro-yo and noticed that there are 6+ flavors to choose from and you can add a topping if you'd like. It's not self serve - you are greeted by one of the workers and you can tell them what you want. The workers here are efficient, and super nice so you can ask them if they recommend anything. My husband and I got the following: -1 small taro coconut cake with coconut topping -1 small raspberry cheesecake with cheesecake topping Our total came out to be around $17+ dollars I believe, but I wasn't mad because the servings here are super generous and more than enough for one person. I have to say that the frozen yogurt is DELICIOUS. It's so smooth, sweet, and really hits the spot. The taro coconut cake flavor was the perfect amount of ube flavoring and the coconut paired with it made it extra sweet, but complimented the flavor well. The raspberry cheesecake was delicious! Super creamy and the additional cheesecake pieces tied the whole thing together. Yumi Yogurt definitely satisfied my craving for frozen yogurt and I'll definitely be back again!!
Pretty decent, same as the location in Santa Clara and offers both ice cream and frozen yogurt! They offer flavors that are fat free and sugar free, which are noted on their menu! I ordered the mint frozen yogurt with the custard vanilla together, with a sprinkling of Oreo toppings. So refreshing and perfect for a summer day. The textures are so creamy and decadent, with a melt in your mouth feeling. It's quick to order and quick to get your order here.
This place definitely hit the spot. Super generous portions and great texture / flavor in the yogurt. In terms of the toppings, they do a great job of spreading them around. They put some cookie dough in the very bottom before pouring the frozen yogurt, then added more later on. Overall this is a great spot. Our medium yogurt came out to $10 after everything, but at least you don't have to worry about them weighing it all like some other places.
Opens late and service is always fast & friendly. The staff is always helpful too. All the flavors are good. My usual is vanilla frozen yogurt with mochi bites and sometimes butterfinger bits.
Used to go to the one in Red Wood City, that was a good one. It had reliable service with a smile. The food was fresh and they didn't skimp. This place is as they say 'Ratchet. Insane turn over with crude attitude. Bad location, with mean people congregating. Order coconut shavings every time as a topping. This time the coconut was wet and FULL of FLIES (10 to be exact) I find it hard to imagine this was an accident. Find a different yogurt shop that's less Salty. Was there Friday the 11th of July if that helps.
I love this spotttt. Even though they are known as yumi yogurt, I really enjoy their icecream. The lines can get long, but they go by pretty fast. They have seasonal flavors too, so try those out when you go! There are a good amount of parking spots available and seatings outdoors too! read more

The Best Yogurt place! We ordered the large yogurt for $10, and we were so impressed by the generous portion of toppings. It was the best bang for our buck, and my wife, toddler, and I were all completely satisfied. Their staff was nice and accommodating, and the store was clean, well-maintained, and offered great outdoor seating. The picture doesn't do justice. We will definitely be back! read more

Plenty of seating outdoor to enjoy your yogurt with your furry friend! Only one person working when I came so the service was a bit slow. We got the small Orange Valencia Guava: flavor was good, but quite sweet. Other than that, serving size is definitely a bang for your buck! Would come and try again! :) read more

Service was excellent! I wish I ask her name. She was very polite, helpful and she wasn't rushing despite the long line and working by herself. I got the chunky monkey and french vanilla and it was Yummy yogurt.My daughter got the mango sorbet and cotton candy icecream and she said it was too sweet. Place is a little outdate. They have big outdoor seating. read more

The portion is quite large, even though I got a small size! I thought the yogurt consistency was quite liquidy almost like soft serve ice cream. I do prefer thicker consistency for froyo, but the huge amount of toppings (like 5 scoops!) they add can add lots of good texture. I do think it is a little too sweet for me overall but still a good treat. - they have a small parking lot - close to movement climbing - good amount of outdoor seating read more

Went for Dessert Food - 4/5. The frozen yogurt was creamy, smooth, and had a good amount of sweetness. Despite being sold as a low sugar product, it tasted natural without any of the strong artificial sweetener flavor. Flavors were strong with the cookies and cream tasting like oreo and the snickers twix being exactly as described. While good at first, the peanut butter flavor of the snickers twix was way more dominant. After a few bites, it was the only flavor that stood out. Cheesecake bites were decadently sweet and added texture. Service - 4/5. Friendly and energetic service. They really loaded up on the cheesecake bites, making for great ratio. Value - 3/5. A small frozen yogurt went for $7 and the cheesecake bites were an additional $1.70. While the frozen yogurt itself was good and the portions were big, the almost $9 price tag is a bit much. Came here Friday night and I was greeted by the friendly staff who gave a great spiel of the menu. My boyfriend and I sampled a few of the yogurts and ice cream. We decided to share a medium vanilla yogurt with two toppings. They place the toppings at the bottom and build it up. The cup was massive. They have plenty of options to choose from we paid $10 for the medium yogurt and it was worth every penny. So happy to have a froyo place close by, we will definitely be back! read more

We used to go to Yumi Yogurt when they were in Redwood City, but now I have to come to Belmont/San Mateo . Yumi is an understatement... it's out of this world YUMI! What makes it so good??? Fresh and varied flavors of yogurt daily (at least 7) and Lapperts ice cream (about 20 flavors) from Hawaii! Friendly service and generous portions ! Love the flavors they have now for the summer season. Parking here is not the best, especially on their busy days because of the limited spaces. There are tables outside but no tables inside. There are so many choices to choose from, I always do a swirl of chocolate and vanilla or the belgian chocolate in a cone. For a limited time I know they had some filipino-inspired ice cream flavors during filipino history month, and the ube was really amazing. There's usually a line and I've only alway seen two people in the counter, so sometimes service is a little slow. But I would always recommend this place for some sweet cravings! Classic place to go in San Mateo for soft frozen yogurt and ice cream. We've been coming here for many years. They have a wide selection of flavors for their yogurts and ice creams. Very generous portions here! We always get the small size frozen yogurt which you can select any two flavors. They also offer carbo-lite flavors for those of you who want to watch your carbohydrate intake. There is a pleasant covered outdoor dining area with a bird bath fountain with running water and plants/flowering plants. And they have their own parking lot too. A cute little frozen yogurt place with some panache! Go with old school vibes, kicking it outdoors in style under the warm California weather, Yumi Yogurt focuses on frozen yogurt in the form of ice cream, soft serve, and smoothies. With a diverse soft serve selection and interesting flavor boosters to amp up their vanilla soft serve, your selection almost seems endless. There is no indoor seating, only outdoor seating with some shade cover and a water fountain. But with some light fixtures and a warm cool evening in California, it's a pretty nice experience. Okay, onto the froyo. My wife got their peppermint while I got their peanut butter and dark chocolate heath. I liked mine, but my wife's peppermint tasted quite artificial. There was something about that peppermint flavor that seemed off. My peanut butter was ok, but the dark chocolate was good. That was a solid selection. The service was quite slow and very understaffed. Only 2 employees serving people that poured the line out the door was a bit disappointing. Also, these workers didn't seem happy to be working at an ice cream shop. With all that being said, I would visit again because of the endless flavors. I would, however, avoid Yumi on a weekend or any time that may get busy. read more
