Del Frisco's... come on now. You all know I hate leaving less-than-stellar reviews, especially for restaurants at this price point. When I'm spending around $120 per person, my expectations are naturally much higher. Let's start with the positives. Parking is what it is because... it's DC lol. I'd definitely recommend using a rideshare if you can. If not, there are several garages nearby. The team that greeted us outside was fantastic. It was raining, and I had a freshly pressed head of hair that I was trying to preserve with my life . One of the gentlemen quickly opened the door and helped me inside. The hostesses were equally kind and seated me in a comfortable area while I waited for the rest of my party. Now you're probably wondering, "Okay... so what's the problem?" Unfortunately, everything changed once we were seated upstairs. Our reservation started around 7:30 p.m., and we didn't leave until almost 10:00 p.m. Not because we were having the time of our lives, but because we spent most of the evening waiting. We were seated quickly, but it took about 15 minutes before anyone introduced themselves, brought us water, or took our drink order. There were only four of us. We ordered an Old Fashioned, a mojito, a Coca-Cola, and one of the restaurant's nonalcoholic beverages. About 30 minutes later, three of the drinks arrived. My friend's bottled Coca-Cola didn't arrive until another 15 minutes later. A bottle of Coke. By the time all of our drinks had arrived and we were finally able to order dinner, roughly 45 minutes had already passed. Our food didn't arrive until around 9:00 p.m. From what we could see, the restaurant didn't appear particularly busy. Maybe they were short-staffed. I honestly don't know. I just know the pacing of the evening felt far too slow. As for the food, I ordered the fish with crab fried rice and asparagus. The asparagus and rice were both good, but the fish was a little dry and had a faint freezer taste. The rest of my party described their meals as simply "okay." For a restaurant at this price point, "okay" isn't really what you're hoping for. I also noticed that the restroom locks were a little wonky, and our server rarely checked in throughout the meal. I don't mind paying for a good dinner, but when the service is slow, the food is inconsistent, and the overall experience feels underwhelming, it's difficult to justify the cost and the desire to return. I genuinely hope this was just an off night because everyone we interacted with was kind, and there is clearly potential here.

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse is definitely a splurge, but if you're going in expecting a full-on steakhouse experience, it delivers. The ambiance is upscale and dim with that classic steakhouse feel clean white tablecloths, warm lighting, and a lively but still polished atmosphere. It's the kind of place you go for a celebration or a big night out. We started with drinks, and they were solid across the board. The espresso martinis were strong and well balanced, and the cocktails like the blood orange spritzer ($19) were refreshing and not overly sweet. For appetizers, the wagyu meatballs and octopus stood out. The octopus had a nice char and the waygu meatballs were flavored well. For mains, we tried a mix: double bone lamb chops ($77), braised short rib ($66), crab cake ($56), and sea bass ($52). The lamb chops were cooked well and had great flavor, definitely one of the stronger dishes. The short rib was tender and rich. The sea bass was buttery and well executed. The crab cake was okay - a little weird that they added chunks of red peppers to it. The lobster mac and cheese ($27) and asparagus ($17) were good sides, with the asparagus being thickk! We also had a couple bottles of Pinot Noir (Lingua Franca and Boen), both good choices that paired nicely with the meal. That said, service was noticeably slow throughout the night. Drinks took a while, courses were spaced out more than they should have been, and it just felt like we were waiting a lot. One thing that really shouldn't happen at a restaurant like this: one of my drinks came in a cracked glass. That's honestly unacceptable, especially given the price point and reputation. The manager did step in and comped a bottle of wine, which was appreciated, but still something that shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Oh my goodness! The butter cake is a must! It is full of flavor and makes you want more when it's all gone, so eat it slow and savor every piece! The crabcakes were good. The broccolini was fresh and had a garlic butter taste that was really good. The creamed corn was good also. Our sever was friendly and very attentive. Highly recommended if you're looking for fine dining in the city.

Del Frisco's was amazing from start to finish. For appetizers, I had the octopus and it was phenomenal cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My friend had the Rockefeller oysters, and those were just as good. For my entrée, I had the Chilean sea bass with the fried rice that had crab in it, and it was so good. The sea bass was perfectly flaky, and the fried rice had big chunks of lump crab that made it even better. The bread was also wonderful so light, fluffy, and full of buttery flavor. My friend got the surf and turf, and we were pleasantly surprised because we were not expecting three pieces of steak. It was amazing. Her boyfriend got the salmon with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was so good. rich, smoky, and full of flavor. For dessert, they brought out a butter cake for my friend's birthday, and that was truly the star of the show. It has been over a month and I still think about that cake. Our server was wonderful and helped make the experience even better. It was my friend's birthday, and they made sure to bring something special out for her. She was pregnant, so she could not take the champagne they offered, but the gesture was still appreciated. Thank you for the cake and for such an amazing time.

Had the burger sitting at the bar and the service was prompt. Came for a late lunch waiting on evening flight for a strong end to the week. Wanted lighter option so chose the side salad and it hit the spot. Have been to multiple locations and they are very consistent. Will stop by on my next time in DC for work! (Side note to the team for sharing the wifi code helping me check my email thanks!)

I came for the warm butter cake. You must start with the warm buttery pull apart bread. The best starter is on the warm starter list. Wagyu Meatballs with Tomato Fondue, Shaved Manchego Cheese, Red Fresno Chile, Fresh Basil. Then you have to end with the WARM BUTTER CAKE. It has Vanilla Ice Cream, Fresh Whipped Cream, and Warm Caramel Sauce! Enjoy!

Stopped in to grab a few bites from the bar menu. I tried the wedge salad, wagyu hot dog, and steak & lobster skewers. The bites were good as was the service and this is the perfect stop if you're shopping in city center .

We were out running errands without any dinner plans in sight. He then thought, it's been a while! So here is where we came for dinner. We sat at the upstairs bar, were able to get a seat rather quickly before it got completely full. One thing that grossed me out a bit was watching a waiter pick something out of a customer drink by hand and sniff the drink--like nose all up in the cup--before whisking it away to an unknowing patron. Like ma'am? Unsanitary--have you not learned a thing or two over the past couple years! I also saw the bartender removing glasses from the dishwasher before it finished its cycle... again, unsanitary!!! But but i only observed each offense once. Aside from that? Bar team was fantabulous--attentive, helpful. Now it took well over 30 min for our oysters and lobster bisque starters to come out. Bc of that we were given a free cheesecake that we crushed when we got home. My lobster bisque was creamy, budding with flavor. They did not skimp on the lobster bits either, well done! The portion is absolutely made for 2--if you eat this all by yourself you are greedy you hear me?! lol. He loved the oysters and the fresh minnionete--he said they were some of the best he's had this oyster season! My lamb chops were cooked perfectly well and so was his steak. Both were tinder and juicy, seasoned very well. We loved the potato au gratin, it was one of the stars of our meal. The mushrooms were a little bland , but otherwise delicious. Overall, very good meal and choice for dinner.

Finding a foodie partner in crime to do life with was probably the best thing that's happened to me. I love love love to try new places and my better half knows that, so he is constantly taking me places I've never been. Our couple rule, if we haven't been together we haven't been at all. So, on our Sunday Funday, he chose Del Frisco's. It was time to update this review as it's been ages! As always, great pick lover! I love Double Eagle! I am a Del Frisco fan! City Center is conveniently located where this fine dining establishment is. Before COVID this used to be our stop after the office, it's also a family Christmas stop for me too. I LOVE this place. Even though I've been many times, Sunday Funday was my chance to come back to Double Eagle with MY guy! Ambiance is finer causal dining experience, I wouldn't say you have to be dressed up, as I've come causal but I've also come dressed up. Totally can do both. Let's get into it! I'm a fan of the Sea Bass and Filet! You can never go wrong! Lobster Mac - YES please! Drinks are always good pours! Highly recommend! Not quite 5 stars for me as dishes haven't been consistent during visits. I've had to send back items to get redone, and I don't like complaining but I'm also paying top dollar and want to eat. Still worthy of 4 stars.

I have to tip my cap to the staff at Del Frisco's for providing such a tremendous service throughout the evening. And when my meal was served, I was pleasantly surprised at how good their double lump crab cakes were ( full of crab meat with every bite ) While the lobster mac & cheese hit a serene high note that sent my taste buds into quite the 2-step. This was a Friday night so the atmosphere was lively without being too loud.

We made reservations for an early dinner, although I'm not sure why we chose a steakhouse since we don't eat steak. The menu didn't appeal to me for that reason, as I typically prefer a wider selection of vegan options. Having already tried two other restaurants in the area, we added this one to complete our list. If nothing more, we decided to get some photo content. Unfortunately, the weather was not suitable for outdoor photos; it started to rain, and we had to go inside. Since we were already there, my daughter ordered lobster mac and cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and a shrimp appetizer. I decided not to order anything for myself but sampled her dishes. While we waited, a staff member brought some delicious bread to the table, which was a nice touch. The lobster mac and cheese was creamy and packed with lobster in every bite. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked, but they were a bit over-salted. The shrimp appetizer was undercooked yet flavorful. The ambiance inside the restaurant was great. After the outdoor seating did not work out, we chose a table by the window overlooking the City Center shops. The ambient lighting was perfect, and the decor was elegant. Our waiter was okay, but I sensed he was somewhat annoyed that we didn't order entrees. After we placed our order, his energy shifted, and he became less attentive to our table. The restaurant is worth visiting, especially for steak lovers, as the restaurant's name suggests. There were some fish entrees available, but none appealed to me. From observation, the restaurant's bar is a popular attraction, which could be another reason to visit. Overall, while the menu didn't cater to my preferences, the food I did sample was good. The service was fair but not great, and the ambiance and location were outstanding.

I recently returned to Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse, a place I've enjoyed many times, and I felt compelled to share my experience. This restaurant continues to impress with its classic American steakhouse ambiance, which has remained as inviting as ever. Ambiance: The atmosphere is warm and sophisticated, perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The views are simply stunning, enhancing the overall dining experience. Food: The menu offers a fantastic selection of high-quality steaks, seafood and sides. Everything I ordered was cooked to perfection, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to excellence in every dish. Service: The service was exceptional, with attentive staff who ensured that my client and I had everything we needed throughout our meal. Their professionalism truly elevated the experience. Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse remains a top choice for anyone looking for great food, fabulous service, and a memorable atmosphere.

I am a Landry's President Club member. Well, that didn't matter at this location. Whenever I go to a Landry's restaurant as a President Club member, the manager always comes over to greet me and my experience is always validated. Well, not here. They could've cared less...that is until it was time to use my points to pay. What a train-wreck. Presenting my president's card to pay has ALWAYS been seamless at every other restaurant in the Landry's portfolio EXCEPT here. I don't even think they credited me properly for the meal. I ordered the pork chop and au gratin potatoes. My husband ordered the sea bass. The food itself was fine, but at the end of my meal, I had to bag my own food. This is a high end steakhouse. I don't bag my leftovers at Landry's lower end steakhouses and this is the luxury end of their brand. There was also a table in front of us where the patron was very unhappy and the manager just walked away from the table while the gentleman was mid-sentence. The gentleman got up and followed the manager which created a scene. No apology or acknowledgement. The customer service was subpar. Nothing like what I'm used to. I should've followed the reviews on Yelp where they have a 3.4 out of 5. The ambiance was ok. We had seating next to a large window so I could see the lit bare trees and the lights from the Chanel and LV store. Parking looked rough so we took an uber from our hotel. Overall, overpriced for the experience. Too many other steak and seafood restaurants to choose from with much better customer service.

Ask the Community - Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse

Can I wear a baseball cap?

They don't allow baseball caps. However it's easy to simply take it off before you walk inside the establishment

    Is there a dress code?

    No, it's casual.

How good is the tomahawk steak?

I was not impressed. Had better elsewhere. I suggest just ordering a smaller steak or a regular ribeye .

    How's the tomahawk bone-in steak?

I didn't have the tomahawk, but if it is anything like the prime ribeye that I had then it will definitely be great. The steaks juicy and well seasoned that they literally make you forget about the side dishes you ordered.

Before getting to the food, I'll first rate the interior excellent. It's big and open, and has a modern yet rustic design, which makes it an excellent atmosphere. They had an impressive list of wines and cocktails, but the draft beer selection was limited. Could use a bit more variety on tap, but I enjoyed the Imperial IPA nonetheless. As for the food; all of it was on the pricey sized given the quality and quantity served, but the salmon collar was by far my favorite -- followed by the chicken, although the chicken was a bit less meaty than I expected. The gem salad, the carrots and the steak fries were all very "meh," and the bisques seemed like small ciabatta buns rather than actual biscuits. All that aside, the biggest disappointment was unfortunately the ax ribeye - it wasn't cooked properly (despite asking for med-rate, depending on the bite, it ranged from medium to very rare), and it was really stringy and fatty - a major disappointment for a steakhouse. Deserts were delicious, I really enjoyed the ice cream cake and thought the peanut butter pie was good. Service was great, prompt and friendly. So I definitely wouldn't recommend this place as a statehouse based on my experience, but would consider coming for the salmon.

I got the 6 oz filet, medium and it was perfect. The warm butter cake was delicious. The pomegranate martini with the dry ice added for dramatic effect was a popular cocktail at our table. Our server was great! Minus the warm temperature, everyone had a great time. I found street parking but valet is available. I would visit Mastro's again but maybe not downstairs.

At one point, he came to our table and explained that there were other people celebrating their birthdays and that he was busy attending to them. I understand that restaurants get busy, but telling a customer that other birthday celebrations are taking priority is not appropriate. He knew it was my birthday as well and even apologized for "ruining" it by mentioning this. It was an incredibly strange way to address his lack of attentiveness. When our food arrived, the server did not promptly come to plate our food. We eventually plated it ourselves, and only afterward did he come over and say that he had been planning to come plate it for us. At that point, the service had already been missed. There were also multiple staff members assisting with service, which made the lack of coordination even more noticeable. The kitchen was quite slow as well, and the garlic mashed potatoes were cold by the time we were eating our steaks. There were also clumps of mashed potatoes left on the table, which our server picked up with his bare hands. These may sound like small details individually, but together they made the service feel surprisingly ordinary for the setting. The food itself was the highlight. The filet was very well seasoned, the garlic mashed potatoes were excellent despite the temperature issue, and the signature warm butter cake with ice cream was phenomenal. My dining companion said his filet was the best filet he had ever had. I also found the dress-code enforcement somewhat inconsistent. I had made an effort to dress appropriately for the occasion, and my dining companion did as well, but I noticed another guest being admitted in denim shorts. My dining companion independently commented on how people were dressed, so this wasn't something I was looking for--it was simply noticeable. Ultimately, I would return for the food, but I hope the service is substantially better next time. This was my birthday dinner, and unfortunately the service did not make the occasion feel particularly special.

I did wish they gave a little more time between the bread/salad course and the main course, since I didn't have enough time to finish my salad. The sauce is delicious and the fries were nice and crispy. Wish dessert came with the meal for that price. The steak is definitely very low quality -- there were so many pieces that were too tough for me to even cut, let alone eat. Since they give you an extra serving, I had enough steak to eat, but it just felt like such a waste to have this giant pile of inedible steak on my plate. There was probably 3/4 of a serving of steak that wasn't so tough it was inedible, so might not have been enough of a serving for others.

It was really hard to flag them down for refills, etc. Medium Rare is a great brunch spot for the spring/summer time! Their outdoor patio is my favorite spot to be seated albeit they pack the tables like sardines. The steak frites with the peppercorn sauce is a must try. I'm not even a steak person, but as a saucy person, I love for this meal. The French toast is also crispy on the outside, yet soft and moist internally. It's the perfect balance of textures.

I started at the bar while awaiting the rest of my party. I enjoyed a glass of brut rose and complimentary popcorn. The popcorn is nothing short of amazing! The bar staff couldn't be friendlier and accommodating. When transitioning to dinner, I left to an intimate environment where our server was attentive and humorous. I ordered the Lobster Linguine, perfectly seasoned and flavorful. Goodness! I then indulged in an espresso martini which rounded out the perfect dinner. I cannot wait to return.

I had an opportunity to introduce some and reacquaint others with why OCEAN PRIME is one of the best restaurants for service, food, and cocktails. When we arrived, not only did we have an amazing greeting from staff who gave us every impression that we were the most important people in the restaurant. Our server was beyond top-notch. Tiana set the standard for how a server should engage thoughtfully and helpfully. We had the iconic berries and bubbles, black, orchid cocktails, glasses of wine, and, of course, the goat cheese ravioli. For main entrées, we had an amazing special of lobster and scallop risotto, and Ribeye steaks, both Oscar-style and plain. Our side items were the jalapeño, gratin, potatoes, lobster, mac & cheese, brussels sprouts, and broccoli. The pace of service was perfect. We had plenty of time to enjoy the cocktails, appetizers, and dinner. The food came out extremely well seasoned, hot, and to everyone's liking. The general manager, Tim, took time to come by the table to make sure everything was going well and really put the icing on the cake by ensuring our entire experience lived up to the Cameron Mitchell brand. Truly, a night to remember
