My friends and I came here for the $60 dinner special. Unfortunately, the online menu was not accurate and the waiter said that menu ended the day before. I do not eat meat and the new dinner special menu did not have any alternative entree to steak. He pointed me to the seafood options on the main menu. I also asked for vegan alternatives for the dinner special and he pointed me to other parts of the menu even though there was a "Vegan and vegetarian options available upon request" disclaimer at the bottom of the dinner special box. The service wasn't great. Waiter was really nice, but we received our drinks 30 minutes after the appetizers. Overall, the food was good, but they aren't very accommodating and my $100 bill was not worth the experience. I enjoy the Ruth's Chris Miami location and the DC location's level of customer service doesn't not match it by far. read more

Went for the $60 3 course menu with some friends. The place was on the lighter side with guests with a nice ambience. The service was prompt and attentive, and the food was delicious. You can see what we all ordered in the photos, and being the ladies that we are, we did choose to upgrade some of our selection options. Took off one star because I placed a to go order at the top of the meal to make sure it made it to the kitchen in time, and I'm not sure if it wasn't put in or if the ticket was missed, but by the time we closed out and asked for the to go order, the kitchen was closed. They offered for me to come back and receive the meal at no charge but still an inconvenience. Overall a good experience with good food and a nice vibe. read more

GIRL DINNERRRRRRR! So guys this place has like $60 dinners. So it includes an app, an entree a side and a dessert! Like what an amazing deal! I got the French onion soup, some steak and some lava soup! One thing I love about this deal is that the substitutions are like $5! And we love to see it! Our sever was named Milan and she was super knowledgeable! (Make sure if you order food to go they make sure they make it before the kitchen closes- we ordered food to go and by the time end when we was ready for it kitchen was closed even though we had ordered it over an hour before that but the server told us come back and she will make up for that so I hope yall see this bc we didn't cause a fuss!) It was my homegirl bday so I love how they decorated the table, brought a candle in dessert! All that! Enough parking in the area as well and the bathroom was super well lit! I visited on a Monday evening after work for a "pick me up." I sat at the bar and enjoyed a pomegranate martini. I ended up ordering a meal, the stuffed chicken and mashed potatoes. This was my first time at the DC location. It wasn't that many people in there, given it was the Monday after Thanksgiving holiday, but it was something about the stillness that I enjoyed. I came here with my family for my sister's graduation lunch. This location was light and airy and aesthetically pleasing. The modern design was picturesque. The service was good and the waitress was attentive to our needs for the most part. I did feel like the service was a bit slow at times for an empty restaurant. Tried this restaurant for the first time on New Year's Eve at about 9:45pm. The decor and the vibe was solid for the overall price point. The appetizers were alright. The Caesar Salad is as expected. The Calamari was interesting since it was wet (but not soggy) rather than the traditional crunchy - still enjoyable. The Artichoke Dip was probably the best appetizer - hearty, filling, and flavorful. I ordered the Ruth's Classic, which came with the French Onion Soup to start. This was much more greasy and oily than expected, with a pungent flavor. The Filet was beyond lovely though. A thorough buttery texture with each bite satisfying. The topped shrimp were pretty ordinary and non-interesting. The sides paired well and were just as great. The unfortunate negative review is due to service. I realize it was a busy time, but people cleared out of the restaurant 30 minutes after arrival - as mentioned by the server. However the lack of attention and competence was still felt through the end of the meal. It took 10 minutes to be given water, an additional 10 minutes to be given my Old Fashioned. (The servers actually ran around with it in the dining hall to find who ordered it.) By the time I received it, the smoke flourish had long dissipated. A Sprite was also ordered and we were served Club Soda three times after informing the server and sending the drink back. They eventually stopped trying and were served Coke. When we were asked for a refill on the Coke, we said yes, but it didn't come. We checked in on getting the refill, but didn't get one for the next 30 minutes we were seated. We wanted to pay part of the bill with a gift card and the rest with Apple Pay. I went up to the POS with them and found that they couldn't apply it without manager approval, and the manager-on-duty couldn't be found for another 5-10 minutes. For this price point, I'd expect the service to be a bit more buttoned-up. The meat was some of the best I've had, but the service did sour the overall feeling of the night. read more

I've been to many Ruth's Chris locations across the country and have always had great experiences -- but unfortunately, this was probably the worst one I've been to. We visited the Washington, D.C. location for a special celebratory dinner, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The service was extremely slow -- it took about 10-15 minutes before anyone came to greet us, and the restaurant didn't even seem busy. After that, it was another five minutes just to get water. We took a little time deciding on our food, but once we were ready, it was nearly another 10 minutes before our server returned. When we asked for more bread, it didn't come out until our entrées arrived, which was frustrating because we would've liked it with our salads. When the food finally came, the steaks were overcooked, the lamb chops had a lot of fat, and the mashed potatoes were cold. To make things worse, even though it was a special occasion, nothing was done to acknowledge or make it feel special -- no small gesture, no acknowledgment at all. For a brand like Ruth's Chris, which I've always loved and trusted for great food and hospitality, this was a big disappointment. A Sizzling Steakhouse Experience with Room for Improvement... We recently dined at Ruth's Chris and enjoyed some incredible steakhouse classics. Both the New York strip and filet mignon arrived sizzling on plates of butter--a mouthwatering sight and even better taste! The garlic mashed potatoes were pure creamy perfection, the ideal accompaniment to the rich, flavorful steaks. The service, however, left something to be desired. While our server was attentive and pleasant, I was surprised not to be greeted by the General Manager. At other Ruth's Chris locations, this personal touch has been consistent and appreciated, especially on a Saturday night when they weren't even particularly busy. The food alone would bring me back, but I hope the level of hospitality rises to match the high standards Ruth's Chris is known for. Lunch menu is offered for the holiday season. For $40. you get an appetizer (choice of 2 salads or soup of the day-today was French onion), entree and a side. It was all perfectly portioned. Unfortunately, my medium filet was prepared well-done and the lobster Mac and cheese was SUPER WATERY! The star of the meal was the calamari!! GET IT! The staff here is completely disinterested in giving any assemblance of customer service. I'm speaking only of the bar service area. They are unfriendly and extremely rude. I went there two consecutive nights this week. The first night, I asked for no parsley on my steak. When the steak came out, it had parsley on it. Not a problem, things happen and I understand. But the bartender did not ask whether or not I wanted a new one or how he can make it better. He acted like it was my fault. On the second night again, the Barr crew seemed very disinterested in providing customer service. For dessert, I decided to order the molted lava cake. The description on the menu describes it as coming with a scoop of ice cream on the top. When clarifying my dessert choice with the bartender, I asked "is that the one that has ice cube on the top" he replied "no the malted lava cake does not come with ice cream". When I pointed to the menu description, he swung his arms around, raise his voice and screamed "if you want ice cream you can have ice cream." You can sit for 15 minutes in an almost empty bar without anyone taking a drink order or even speaking to you. I usually love a Ruth's Chris steakhouse but this location is off my list permanently. Stopped by for a New Year's Eve dinner with family, and the experience was...underwhelming. (I didn't come in with high hopes, but I was surprised that the restaurant missed on a few basics.) We did an 8 oz. petite filet with the blue cheese crust...it wasn't as red as our medium-rare temperature order would lead a person to believe, so the temperature was a little warm for our tastes. The sides were the shocking part: the asparagus was a total miss, and the brussel sprouts weren't a winner, either. (The potatoes au gratin were nice, though.) The prosecco we had was a little warm, which gave me the sense that Ruth's Chris wasn't ready for the sheer number of people who might order bubbly on the last night of the calendar year. The other cocktails were only OK. I thought my side Caesar was OK, but my wife complained that the small salad was overdressed...so, we agreed to disagree on that one, but she did want to make sure that was called out in this review. The crab cakes didn't have quite as much flavor as we had hoped, but it's been a while since I've had a good, filler-free crab cake anywhere, really. Service was so-so; our server tried her best to give us updates from time to time, but it took about an hour to get our entrees after the salads/apps had been served. (I found a way to survive thanks to the warm bread that was served to start the meal.) For $145/person (after tax and tip), I was hoping for a better evening, but it was not to be. Went on my birthday, on a Sunday. Restaurant was not terribly busy, but we had a reservation just in case. Seated quickly upon arrival. Server was a nice young guy but not the caliber of server I've had at any other RC locations. After placing our orders, we sat for at least 45 mins waiting for our 2 apps, wondering what was happening. When we found the server, he acted a bit suspect as if he realized in that moment he screwed up. After he went to find out what happened, OUR ENTREES arrived. DOH! When we told that person we hadn't even gotten our apps yet, he took the food back to the kitchen. Then the manager showed up with ONE of our two apps and again we said "WHAT IS GOING ON?" The manager then said "oh...we're OUT OF THE 2ND APP YOU ORDERED!" W...T...F?! This is Ruth's Chris, not Cracker Barrel! So, we eat the app, and they proceed to bring our entrees back to the table SCORCHING hot presumably from the oven, or the surface of the sun. Apologies flow and promises of comps are made. The food...once my tongue came back to life...was quite amazing. Scallops, jumbo lobster tail with crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, some drinks. We enjoyed it. The tom foolery from the staff was a HUGE turn off. The restaurant itself is also pretty dated and lackluster, and has chandeliers that randomly surge and flicker. Tacky. In the end we did get the app, two (of three) drinks, and two desserts comped, so that was appreciated, but I think next time we'll look for a more classy Ruth's Chris...or go to Capital Grille. 3 Stars is fair. read more

It is hard to write this review because the rest of the staff that I have encountered there has been largely kind and normal. But I was there recently sitting at the bar when Lenora refused to serve another patron that had just sat at the bar for NO REASON, and then the manager had to step in to reprimand Lenora for her terrible attitude and terrible service while another waitress / bartender served the customer. Lenora's rude attitude and treatment of an innocent customer ended up carrying throughout the night across her service with others. This was my first time visiting a Ruth Chris Steak House. Knowing it was a rather expensive place to eat I figured it would be on the classier side, but the location in DC is anything but classy. There was probably only 10-15 tables in use when I went so it was pretty empty overall. Most folks were in regular clothing and some behaving as if they were eating at Denny's. A large group of young teens came in to sit at a round table behind me. They were loud and rambunctious and I found it odd they came in, took a bunch of photos sitting at the table then left without ordering anything. Our server (who was also training someone else) was not good. He was very awkward and never checked on us when the meal came out. Service was slow and by the end of the meal the server randomly asked if we felt neglected by him at all. I ordered a martini and it came out in a small 8oz round glass half full (total waste of $20). The server said they were out of martini glasses (the place was mostly empty so I couldn't understand how they were out of glasses). I ordered the lobster tail with steak, both were good but I've had much better steak elsewhere. I also had the lobster bisque which was fine, but didn't contain much lobster. My meal came with a dessert but the only option was cheesecake, which was awful. I took one bite and was done. I expected better given the crazy prices they charge. Went out of my comfort zone and drove to DC for a Friend's birthday celebration. I have lived in the DMV all my life but usually catch the subway or a ride with someone else in the afternoon or evening when going to DC. To me, parking is crazy if you can find it(you better read the signs carefully if you don't want your car towed), the drivers are crazy and the roads are crazy. But there are so many AMAZING spots in DC that I am going to push through and enjoy the city more this year(Woosah) All the garages in the area, and there are many, were closed on a Sunday. But the street parking was great and I found a spot right next to the restaurant. YEAH ME! Ruth's Chris is a HUGE, beautifully decorated restaurants. We met for Happy Hour on a Sunday. My Friend chose seating in the bar area. Surprisingly, it was not busy and the bar area was able to accommodate a group of 20+ People that trickled in at different times. The lights were dimmed and even thought though the restaurant was quite large, the seating area felt very intimate. I had eaten a late lunch so I ordered the spicy shrimp and a Pomegranate martini (to calm my nerves ). The Happy Hour menu was very reasonably priced. The service was a little bit slow but I will allow that maybe it was the size of the party and the People trickling in at different times. The waiters were very attentive and the atmosphere was very fun and lively with my Friends. The Spicy Shrimp and the Pomegranate Martini were so delicious that they were worth the wait. Et tu, Ruth'sChris? The first visit I ever made to this steakhouse was almost 20 years ago, back when I was living in San Francisco, and, ever since, I've always praised the establishment on the impressively high consistency with the quality of fare and professionalism of the staff. Since then, I've probably dined at Ruth's Chris over 40 times and on 3 different continents. Last night my fiancée and I visited Ruth Chris for, probably, the last time. Let me tell you why... We arrived and were seated in a nice booth. We ordered a bottle of wine and selected our courses which began with the Cesar Salad for me and the lobster bisque for my fiancée. We finished the first course, still no wine had arrived. The manager came over to our table and informed us that the wine we selected 20 minutes ago is no longer on the menu. No problem, we selected another bottle. Another 20 minutes passed, our steaks arrived, and still no wine. A different manager informs us that the 2nd bottle we ordered also does not exist and they need to update their wine list. No problem, we circumvent the entire wine list and order two glasses of the house red - we don't care what it is at this point as our steaks are now at the table and we only have water. We both requested our filets be prepared medium rare - mine was perfect, my fiancée's was somewhere between medium and well done - cooked completely through. We're frustrated and tried to get the manager to return. We're left alone for another 20 minutes. Finally, after an hour at our table, we simultaneously get 2 glasses of red wine and the first bottle we ordered - or a facsimile of the first bottle. Since my fiancée did not want to eat a $57 well-done steak, I also had refrained from eating and my steak cooled. The manager offered to replace our steaks, which was the correct thing to do, however, at this point we had already been at the restaurant an hour and had solely dined on soup and salad while drinking water. The prospect of giving the the staff a 5th opportunity to disappoint while we waited another 20 minutes was a dismal option. We allowed them to replace just my fiancée's steak but during that 20 minute span, we soured on the evening and told the manager we want to leave. Naturally, we were presented with the bill by the manager. They took off several items making the cost a mere $80-something dollars, before tip of course. It's incredibly painful to be put in a situation such as this, having come to expect such quality and service at Ruth's Chris. We stated the we didn't believe paying for our abysmal experience made any sense. The manager left briefly then returned, with a dismissive demeanor, stating to us, "You're free to go" as if we had wronged them and they were giving us "a pass". I am giving 2-stars for this review because I did enjoy my Cesar Salad and, very much like the dishes namesake, I was betrayed by a confidant, not Brutus in my case, but Ruth's Chris. Sheesh! This is our first time at this location and service was horrendous!! We came here on 31 Dec 22 (New Year's Eve) We were seated in the private area, which was nice! The view was also nice (see pics) minus the view of the rats running from tree bush to tree bush On to what made this 2 stars.. Our waiter Joy was horrible! (Not in any particular order, listing everything that went wrong) 1) Wife ordered a blue berry martini when we first arrived- NEVER GOT! After 20 min and barely seeing our waiter we asked Joy where the drink was? It was like she forgot.. We told her not to worry about it 2) Wife asked for horseradish with her steak when she ordered her steak.. NEVER GOT! When we finally saw the waiter, we asked about the horseradish and we had to wait an additional 10-15 min after the steak came out to get it. By then her steak was luke warm. 3) Ordered the mushrooms as a side.. NEVER GOT utensils to serve the mushrooms.. Had to use the utensils that came with the sweet potatoes, due to the track record of our waiter (didn't feel like waiting) Used a paper napkin to wipe off sweet potato residue. 4) I ordered the chicken dish, with sides. My chicken was the only thing that came out, with no sides.. Which was odd! Then about 5-10 mins later, another chicken and everything that we ordered came out (like normal) to include my wife's food.. So they returned the other chicken.. 5) NEVER GOT a refill on my tea, only the initial tea when I first got there, and we were there for almost 1.5- 2 hrs. 6) Wife NEVER GOT her cheesecake, that came with the meal. Had to ask numerous times, and finally we just said we will take it to go. 7) Asked for napkins and NEVER GOT.. We had to ask the other waiter who's name was Xavier for napkins 8) We asked to have our food boxed up and check.. NEVER GOT that service! Again, we had to ask Xavier after waiting 20 min. I was so fed up with the service, when I saw Joy at the end of dinner (finally) I asked her to please get the manager. She proceeds to say, "Ask me anything" I look at her, puzzled... and said, no I want the young lady who was walking around to the different tables earlier (Manager) Joy then says, oh you would like the Manager? (Unfortunately I forgot her name) So then I ask Joy, when I asked for the Manager earlier, why did you tell me to "Ask you anything?" She tried to say that she didn't hear me. As you can see, this is what we had to deal with at dinner. Joy seemed to be spaced out "Allegedly" After talking to the Manager, and informing her of all the mishaps, it was discovered that Joy didn't have that many tables, just the little room, we were in.. So I'm not sure what her issue was.. Manager ended up taking off the sides off of the bill.. took it from 16x.xx to 111.xx (lol) Honestly, I'm still not happy!! I spent 111.xx for crappy service!! This is why I didn't take more pics of the food. Whole night was thrown off due to Joy! Hopefully this isn't a sign of what's in store for me in 2023 I don't think I will be back to the location! read more

My initial plan was to go to another establishment around the corner that just opened. There was a private party so I was forced to find another option. I looked down the street and saw Ruth Chris. I been in this beautiful new location when it first opened a couple of years ago. I had a great experience then, this one was even better! We were dressed a little casual so we sat in their bar area which was fine. Daryle and Ben took great care of us! Everything we ordered was so yummy! You know I love me a good cocktail. I started off with the blackberry sidecar. For an appetizer, for the table we got the goat cheese artichoke dip. Not a super big fan of goat cheese but this pairing felt like heaven. We ate it al! For dinner, I ordered their garlic crusted sea bass with shareable sizes of the au gratin potatoes, brussels, and sweet potato casserole. Everything was superb! I really enjoyed this combo. Everything was seasoned well, fresh, and had a lot of elements that made every dish special. To end this perfect evening, we had the bread pudding. That jack daniels whiskey sauce took this bread pudding to the next level. I am a bread pudding connoisseur. I will add this in my top 3. If you havent been, check out Ruth Chris. We came on NYE for his birthday. We made a reservation in advance and our table was ready when we arrived. The food was great, per usual. I got the Ruth's classic and started with the Caesar salad which we shared, the filet & lobster tail, creamed spinach, sweet potato casserole and a dessert. He got the filet as well. We both got a drink: black berry sidecar for him and a lemon drop for me. Our server was also very attentive and friendly. The only downside is the fact that there was a group at the bar who was extremely loud and rude. The loudness wasn't the issue but once you add loudness and unnecessary profanity, it ruins the ambiance. I thought management would have stepped in and addressed the profanity as it made us uncomfortable and took away our ability to enjoy our food. This was my second time at a Ruth Chris steakhouse. I have fond memories of my family and my first visit. We went to the Arlington location and I remember the view was great and the food was even better. This time we decided to try the DC location. Most of our party arrived a bit early for our reservation but were seated promptly, the decor was nicely done and elegant. They were able to accommodate our party of 9 without an issue and even waited for our 3 late members. The server was attentive. I ordered the crab cakes, tomato and cucumber salad and the sweet potato soufflé. All were very good. I thought the 3 very small crab cakes were not going to fill me up but surprisingly they did. They were full of crab meat with very little fillers and were quite flavorful. The sides were big enough to share. My favorite thing was the sweet potato dish. So sweet and not over powered by the pecan bits. Nice recipe. You want to hear something strange? As much as I loved the food I was bored. Lol. My family was there but everything seemed kind of dull and we are a lively bunch. Maybe it was the soft barely there elevator music pumping through the restaurant. During Christmas time I expected more Christmas cheer at the restaurant but I suppose you have to be respectful of those who don't celebrate the holiday. My second time here for HH and it's always a classy experience. Jas was my waiter this visit and she did not disappoint. I started with the spinach dip, yum. Accompanied with the yummy pomegranate martini. I had the spicy shrimp as well as the Steak sammich! All on the HH menu that runs from 4-6pm. I come here for a quick dinner and drinks before dinner and drinks. Honorable mention to her barmate Rome. Go Cowboys! I had the pleasure of previewing this new location at 21st & L st. Atmosphere was on point. Service was on point. And most importantly, the food was on point. I started off the night with their ahi tuna, zucchini fries, and a blueberry mojito. Ahi tuna was perfectly seasoned on the sides; that peppery flavor really complimented the delicate tuna. Loved the sauce used to dip with the crispy zucchini fries. Blueberry mojito was the perfect accompaniment to my appetizers. My entree was the steak & shrimp. A+ for presentation since the shrimp was beautifully layered on top of my steak. I ordered my steak medium since I love a bit of char with that tender pink color. Tasted amazing! Finished off the night with the bread pudding. This item surprised me the most. The bread pudding came with a white chocolate sauce and the bread pudding tasted unique, almost like a buttery pancake. Don't sleep on the bread pudding guys!!! I don't expect anything less from Ruth's Chris. Truly a reliable establishment! read more

We've made it a family tradition to come Here for thanksgiving. Parking in 10 dollars outside for valet. It says cash only but we were told That's an old sign. You can scan the QR code and pay that way. Once inside we were seated as we made reservations ahead of time (highly suggested ). Went to the bathroom and this is where things fell apart for me. The bathroom was FILTHY I mean YUCK. Like we weren't dining at a high end restaurant but a gas station bathroom it was that dirty. You can tell no one monitors it because it was built up filth . So disappointing. This is why I can't give it full stars. The service was ok . Fabian was very sweet and attentive. It was a busy night so we understand the mishaps. The food was good as expected and large portions. Please clean the bathroom yall. If I wasn't starving like I was, I wouldn't have eaten my food due to loss of appetite read more
