First time experience which was awesome! The food, service & ambience of this restaurant was fantastic! We were seated in the SSI Room and Kyle was our server. Who was informative, attentive & knowledgeable about the menu and expressed his favorites. My wife & I had reservations for Valentine's Day dinner & as I mentioned earlier, Kyle was our server who did an excellent job! He recommended the Flank Steak empanada & Spinach empanada as well as the Caprese' salad to start the meal. All were awesome! We also had some adult beverages. My wife had a glass of Riesling & I had a vodka tonic with twist of lime. The vodka provided was Kettle One. For the entrees, I had the Flank Steak (medium) with roasted veggies. Steak was done perfectly and veggies were cooked with a little firmness, The chimichurri sauce & herb salt with the Flank Steak was a great addition to the dish. My wife had the Pear & Gorgonzola Sacchetti which was a bit savory & sweet. The presentation was very nice and would say the pasta is like a tortellini. Excellent! To close out the meal, I had another Vodka tonic w-lime & my wife has the Del Sur Ole' Fashion w/Bulleit Bourbon. Both cocktails were spot on! This will be a spot I will frequent more often than other establishments I have frequented since moving to SSI 2 1/2 years ago. If you have never been, you need to put it on your dining wish list! First time here and honestly not bad! Smaller place but very homey like layout. I love the more open concept to see in to the kitchen and decor was fitting for this style. Serve was fantastic on top of everything and very informative of the daily specials and the menu in general. The food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I went with the ribeye stake as I wanted something a little more fatty. It was paired with a salt infused with red wine that gave it a slight sweetness to it. We also shared a spinach empanadas. To be honest this was the best empanada I've had in a long time. Most of the time they are too hard or lack flavor. These were perfect flakey and full of flavor. Highly recommend! For a drink I got a manhattan. Made well with Makers Mark as they were out of Bullet. I don't know when or if I'll be back in the area for work or not but I do recommend this place. read more

We decided to do something a little different for dinner one night here when we happened upon this spot. It definitely had us at empenadas AND pasta. We had a feeling it was gonna be great and we were right. Reservations are recommended because this place gets busy at night. We lucked up and got seats at the bar. Emily, the bartender, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. What a perfect little place for dinner. We have been here with my family several times when we are in town visiting our son. The staff is always inviting and provides the perfect amount of attention. The menu does not have a huge selection of options but they have perfected everything they offer. Consistency and value are what set Del Sur apart from other restaurants. Waiter was so accommodating. Restaurant stopped serving at 9pm, but some friends were nearby and wanted dinner. We were already starting on our entrees, but our waiter told us to tell them to come, pulled a table over so we could be a four top, and happily took their order. Salmon and rib eye were good. Coarse salad with prosciutto was the perfect starter - light and flavorful. Didn't like the risotto as much -- a little gummy, but the roasted vegetables were excellent. My fiance and I always eat here when we come to St. Simons. The food is always great, whether you get the empanadas, a salad, or the main courses. Everything we have tried was very flavorful. They also have a lot of alcohol to choose from and a great bar. The only downside to the place is the service is hit or miss. They don't mess your orders up, but sometimes you're left with no drink for some time or they will leave you hanging waiting on the check. On a recent trip to St.Simon's Island for my husband's birthday we went to Del Sur Artisan Eats and was given a 7:45 reservation. I received my reservation confirmation through Open Table. My husband and I were waiting on a bench outside of the restaurant until the correct time and the young man who had made the reservation ran over to another couple who had just sat down beside us and told them that a table was ready, at 7:45 I went up to the podium and told a young lady there that we were here and had a 7:45 reservation, she asked what my name was and when I told her she turned and looked at the table with the couple the young man had run out and gotten in confusion, she then told us to what a moment and let her see what she could do. She came back with the young man and he tried to tell me that the patrons weren't clearing out as quickly as he had thought and we would need to wait a little longer. That wasn't the case at all. He had given our table away! Maybe he doesn't realize but Open Table tells you that you are now dining (2outdoors). No apology . Just trying to cover his butt. Will never be back. read more

Wow! Absolutely everything we ordered here was superb! This time around we were in Georgia to visit my brother and my sister in law. Boy oh boy! I recommend going to eat here! Better to make a reservation though. Highly recommend it. If not you get be there when it opens. Since we didn't make a reservation that's exactly what we did, we were there when they opened and got to sit outside. Fortunately the weather was gorgeous out! While waiting we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day with a cool gentle breeze. We ordered after a few minutes. Was able to make reservations the same day on a Friday. My husband and I came for an impromptu date night. It was our first of many times going to this restaurant. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to help us narrow down some selections to try. We also met one of the owners. He was very friendly and made sure we enjoyed the meal. Me and my wife were here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We had beef empanadas which were delicious. A Cesar salad and salmon with grilled vegetables that were awesome. And a kahlua cake . I highly recommend this place when you are in the st Simon's island area and Kyle was a great and personable person. Del Sur is a restaurant that we visited over 6 years ago on our last family trip to St. Simons. This time it was just the parents and it was just as good if not better! We were so happy to see they were still open and cranking out amazing steaks, empanadas, and great service!! Our server was so accommodating in going over the menu with us and answering our questions. He made it difficult not to order everything on the menu. Of course, we had to try their awesome cocktails to get things started, the butternut squash empanada was so tasty. The small arugula salad was a perfect light dish before moving on to the special dish - Pork Chops! I was lucky to snag the last one they had and WOW!!! There was So much meat and the Chimmichuri sauce added that extra Argetnian vibes I was yearning for! My wife tried the Pear and Gorgonzola Sacchetti, and that was such a unique dish, totally worth the try (very creamy though). The server went over the dessert menu and we landed on the Chocolate Kahlua Cake, which is handmade by the Chef's wife. She knocked it out of the park, super spongey and light, with the ice cream being the perfect pairing. The portions are enough for big appetites. Many places promote their steak and the fat in their steak. This place serves Argentinian beef and the marbling speaks for itself. Great taste and tender. Del Sur is one of our favorite restaurants on SSI, so we ordered a number of the wonderful dishes that we typically order à la carte when dining in at the restaurant. I was a little bit nervous about whether the food would be as good when it was prepared for 17 people. Well, it was!!! We had skirt steak, shrimp risotto, shrimp skewers, salmon, three different types of empanadas, and a huge salad. everything was warm and delicious. I highly recommend them if you need to "order out" for a large group!!! We were particularly grateful to them because we had originally planned to use a private chef for this event, but he had to cancel at the very last minute. We were prepared for it to be a little bit chewy because that's just the nature of a skirt steak, but it was so incredibly tender and outrageously delicious! My husband chose the vegetable medley, which was also unbelievably delicious and the chimichurri was also tasty. I ordered the pear Gorgonzola sachets (listed on the menu as ravioli, but that supplier is no longer available). I will say that while the dough tasted and felt fresh, the sauce was very creamy, and you can definitely taste the pear, I really didn't taste Gorgonzola at all. I mentioned that to the server, and she recommended to the chef that maybe it could use some sprinkled over the top of them. We were down in St Simons island for our anniversary looking for something that was not " southern food" ( not a fan sorry southerners ) we wanted something delicious for dinner we came across this Gem. We called a head and made a reservation. Online and requested standard seating so we were sat inside. When arriving at our time we were seated right away. Parking is on the street at the pier so it can be full on busy nights. They do have a nice outdoor seating area for nice nights. We used to frequent their Miami restaurant and missed it dearly. When planning our road trip, I remembered that they are in St Simons. So I planned a few days on the island since we've never been there before. The restaurant is cute, clean and in the perfect corner location. They have a few parking spots reserved for the restaurant, but plan on street parking or at the pier lot. We went in mid-week after easily reserving on OpenTable. We were so excited to enjoy our favorite dishes and were not disappointed! New to us was the Burrata Sampler which we ordered in lieu of our favorite Polenta. They only offer the polenta seasonally, and it was not currently available. The sampler was nice and we inhaled it all with a bit of olive oil and balsamic. You can never go wrong with Burrata. We also shared a Beef Empanada, yum. Next up, our entrees. We ordered the Short Rib over Risotto and the Pear & Gorgonzola Sachetti. Both as delicious as we remembered! Though a bit more fig with the sachetti would have been great. We shared both dishes and cleaned both plates. We rarely finish all our food but we did this time. For dessert, we had the Tres Leche Cheesecake. Different than before, but still delicious. We returned the next day to try different items on the menu. Though, I would have been happy with my originals again. We started with the Provoleta. Nice, cheesy deliciousness. Entrees were Chicken Marsala and the Filet Mignon. The Marsala was really good, served with linguini. The filet was different than I'm used to, not as tender but the flavor was good. This was our second visit to Del Sur, and it did not disappoint! The skirt-steak is a must order!! Cooked to perfection and so flavorful. I also really enjoyed the side of arugula salad. I know this isn't a fine dining restaurant by any means, but if you are going to charge $42 for a NY Strip, then I at least expect it to taste like a $42 steak. The steak wasn't bad by any means, it is just more aligned with a $25 steak maybe? It's good, but not great. If you're looking for an exceptional, steak-house like steak - skip this one and look elsewhere. On the plus side, the bread service was yummy, and the warm chocolate cake and ice was good too. The service was fine as well with everyone being really nice considering it was towards the end of their shift. However, given how the place is priced, you'd expect it to be a tad more "upscale"-ish in atmosphere. Maybe I just caught them on the wrong day at the wrong time. Clams, mussels, potatoes and peas in a tomato-like stew and topped with three ample, grilled shrimp (head to tail). Just incredible. The bread slice was large enough to soak up the wonderful base. It reminds us of a fisherman's stew but a level or three up. Dessert: the hardiest piece of key lime pie in the south. Cool, rich and a consistency you'd expect from a deep dish pizza. One beer, water and a pretip total of $76. Service: excellent starting with a shy but helpful water guy. A funny waitress. Plenty of contact with the serving chef and maybe an owner? They asked whether the "V" dish should be on the menu. Hell yes and please before we return. Ambiance: a tour guide says it is based inside a former gas station. What a hidden little gem! It was a cold January night when I stumbled across Del Sur Artisan Eats. The area it's located is so charming and beautiful. As I walked up to the front door, I was immediately acknowledged and greeted by an employee. I was seated immediately. The ambiance was very cozy, small, family oriented. Charming is the word I would keep using. My server was on it. Got me some sparkling water and took my order immediately. Then menu had so many good options. I learned the homemade soup was fresh butternut squash and knew I had to have a bowl. But I struggled because I also wanted the Caprese Salad with prosciutto. The server recommended I get the half salad. One thing I was not happy about, they still charged me for the full salad. The soup was amazing and the Caprese salad delicious. Then my main meal was the Penne Pasta dish with sausage and olives. It was sooooooo good. I ended my meal with a Coffee Crème Brûlée. Perfect finish to an amazing dinner experience.
