I can't figure out what is going on with Nazzaros. They have always had good food, but for the past year-ish they have really gone down. We were there last night with a group of 12. Had the best waitress we've ever had "MILLY" she was fantastic. She was the only waitress there last night. One of our group never got his meal and had to leave early. Milly was very apologetic and upset - but the manager never walked over to speak to our group about the mishap. There were only a total of 8 other customers - no one at the bar at this time. If you don't want to be in the restaurant business --- close. If you want to be in the restaurant business then treat your customers with the respect and courtesy that people want when they are dining out. read more

The place was quiet if you like that. My partner and I went around 6:15 on a Monday. Service was solid and quick which was partly due to us being one of 4 parties in the building. Appetizers Calimari Fried Mozzarella I wish we wouldn't have ordered the calimari. The fried mozz was enough of an appetizer for 4-5 people, especially when you consider that bread comes with it as well. Entree Bolognese Great dish with a portion for 2. I could not wait to get back to this restaurant. It is fabulous. I started with the Caprese salad and went to the Tuscan shrimp. Extremely tasty and so very delicate. I finished with a gelato, which was delicious. The service was excellent, although I was not informed of the specials. The ambiance was true to form for an upscale Italian eatery. And when I say upscale, I don't mean price. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a love for high quality food and not over priced. Quiet and gratifying.. Wanted a good Italian meal before heading out from St. Simon's tomorrow and Nazzaro's popped up on the radar. Made reservations and was looking forward to a good meal. Arrived on time and was pretty quickly seated but place is your usual strip mall environment. Probably was ten minutes before anyone stopped by our table. We ordered drinks which came rather quickly along with bread and oil, maybe the best thing I ate tonight, and placed our dinner order. We waited.... and waited.... and after 45 minutes of not even seeing our waitress or even getting our salads, we asked the hostess what was going on. She went and found our waitress who came to the table saying the kitchen said not to bring them out yet. Huh?!? Was another ten minutes before we got the salads, over an hour down just to reach this point. Didn't feel like finding another place to eat, but came close. Meals finally came and presentation was okay, not great, but after over an hour we expected it to look like Gordan Ramsay prepared it. Not so lucky, looked rushed and just plopped on the plates. Chicken Picata was okay, but my Shrimp Provencale was bland. Shrimp tasted like they were frozen shrimp, boiled and served with no seasoning at all. Noodles were also bland, didn't get much down. Size was good, but nothing to write home about and was there for well over 1-1/2 hours. Now as far as the environment, this is definitely a local's hangout. An older crowd but regardless of that, they all knew each other and seemed to not be there to eat but to socialize.... LOUDLY. A non-stop barrage of LOUD chatter made it less than comforting, and I literally mean non-stop. I think we knew the local news about people as much as anyone as there was no volume control on the customers. Couldn't wait to exit and we'll be back to St. Simon's but we won't be back to Nazzaro's. read more

Enjoyed a great Italian dinner here, appetizers ere delicious - stuffed mushrooms and lobster raviolis- the offered delicious sounding specials - snapper and salmon, although we opted for the lasagne and shrimp diablo and were very happy with our choices- Their sauces are top notch! Service was amazing! Hailey remembered us from a visit a month ago :) which was nice - and the desserts are to die for! Hahaha Love the atmosphere- linen table cloths, and a full bar. I had a wonderful time at dinner with my mom and grandmother! We went during Valentine's Day weekend but even with no reservation they let us sit at the bar. The bartender was so kind and there was a great wine selection. Every bit of food that I had was served hot and tasted fresh! This is our new favorite restaurant on St. Simon's Island! Carlos, our waiter, was exceptional. The Eggplant Parmigiana (my go-to Italian dish) was delicious and my husband said the lasagna was one of the best he's ever had. I had the house red which resulted in a second glass. The food is terrific but sit at the bar at your own risk. One bartender (Linda) is a true professional. Otherwise, mediocrity is a hurdle too high. Then there is the politics, which is loud, constant and threatening. If you are a fan of OAN or Newsmax, you are right at home. Fox News viewers are considered Communist. When brought to the attention of the hostess, the response is, "oh, I know ... you just have to tune it out". read more

An authentic Italian with incredible entrees and appetizers. I had the Georgia Shrimp Limone and steak Bruschetta . I also ordered the spinach risotto which was to die for! The tiramisu and key lime pie desserts are not to be missed, try both! My dinner companions loved their redfish. I would definitely return if I lived in the area. Don't let the bread bug you!!! My wife and I opted to eat here while on vacation. The hostess was put off when we walked in because we didn't have reservations even though the place was at least half empty and remained so the whole time we were there. Once seated, the server was more friendly but when we got "fresh" bread there was a BUG lying under it. We quietly sent it back. We received a quick apology from the server and nothing more. The food was ok. I didn't have the best appetite after being served buggy food. There were many ways the experience could have been handled better none of which the restaurant chose to take... My advice is to avoid Nazzaro's and their bug infested bread. read more

This place was pretty average. But beware, this place is heavy on the garlic- it took me days to get the flavor out of my mouth. I started with the caesar salad which was heavily dressed (I'd ask for the dressing on the side). My Alfredo was just okay, I hate to say it but Olive Garden may have better flavor. So disappointing. Salads had been refrigerated so long prior to serving that the lettuce was almost frozen. Salad dressing had absolutely no flavor and our entrees were tasteless. Fettuccine Alfredo was watery and had absolutely no flavor. I've had better from frozen food section at Kroger. Something is going on with this restaurant because it used to be delicious. Nazzaro's is a great little Italian restaurant on the Island that offers a nice romantic atmosphere when dining with you significant other, as well as a nice open family atmosphere when the kids are present. The food at Nazzaro's is great, authentic Italian prepared fresh daily. Last time we were there we shared the eggplant parm and the ramano crusted chicken; both were excellent dishes and we had plenty left to bring home for lunch the next day. Walked in at 6:15 to a completely empty restaurant and were told that we (two adults, one child) would not be able to be sat until nearly 8pm. The hostess looked us up and down and was snooty as heck, as if we weren't good enough to eat in their restaurant. We waited in the lot outside for twenty minutes looking for another restaurant to visit and that time LITERALLY ZERO other customers entered Nazzaros. we finally settled on Tramici and when we arrived they were ACTUALLY slammed and still sat us within 15 minutes. Our first time to try Nazzaro's on our trips to SSI. We ordered take out and were not disappointed. The portions were nice and the food well prepared, seasoned and hot. We got a mozzarella cheese starter (Encorozza) that was an interesting and very tasty take on "fried cheese", much more appealing than cheese sticks! Also we had a Chicken Parm, Antipasti (as a main course), Romano encrusted Chicken, Shrimp fra Diablo and really good Crème Brûlée. Our only disappointment was in not asking about the specials.... There was a triple tail dish and shrimp sauté that several of us would love to have tried. On pickup, the hostess was welcoming and accommodating. It appears their small bar does a pretty good business and enjoyed a steady flow of customers. So, take out was very good, service and food wise. Dining in looked to be a nice option with the proviso that Nazzaro's doesn't look like a "hopping" place but a nice quiet dining spot. read more

Used to go here often about 5 years ago and it was great. Went tonight and significantly disappointed. Both my wife and I thought the food was not good. The only good part of the meal was the salad dressing. I will never return to eat here again. It is a shame to see a once great establishment turn into a very poor one. read more

My favorite Italian on the island. Wonderful fish specials, often with risotto. They have gluten free pasta that they'll substitute in some of the dishes (but sadly, not the ravioli or lasagna). Never had a bad meal there. Ever. read more

My parents told me about their experience at Nazzaro's several months ago. They go at least once a month and rave about it until they return. My husband and I decided to try it out, and last night was our first visit. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was lovely. We ordered the flatbread appetizer and 2 cocktails and received them promptly. We ordered the special (Georgia Shrimp with penne) and Romano Encrusted Chicken. Both were absolute perfection. We left happy and full, and we are excited to return again. The ticket was a little pricey, but you honestly can't beat the food, service, and atmosphere. Totally worth it! read more

Wonderful food, atmosphere, and waitress! We got the garlic bread as an appetizer and it was great, I also got a veal soup (not on the menu but definitely ask for it!) and it had an amazing flavor. The service was clearly stressed. Our server said they were very short of staff and clearly something is going on in the kitchen as well. The food was fine, if not over-salted. Unoriginal Italian food options are presented with mediocre and overpriced wine. If you crave pasta, nazzaros has 17 dishes that feature linguini. If you crave seafood, Nazzaros has the bottom off the local seafood barrel. The reason this mediocre restaurant got 2 stars instead of 3 is the terrible bar service. The veteran bartender does not know how to make simple cocktails, and is rude to anyone who asks. As my grandmother used to say, it's one thing to be fat and stupid, its another to be fat, stupid and rude. Nazzaros should evaluate the failed talent they have in the bar and bring someone in who wasn't fired from other local restaurants. read more

Didn't ask me if I want to box my meal BUT did ask my friend if he wants to box his meal. Then we ask for Tiramisu. She bring one fork. When we are sharing the dessert. We spent $113.34.
