It's the del taco so not much to expect. But the staff over at this deal taco in Twentynine palms California seems nice enough. I have not had any problems that come to mind with them. Strange is there is no sauce packets out on the tables on taco Tuesday's. The food on the other hand most of the time is what I can expect from a del taco. However sometimes this is not the case. I have had some things that did not taste as good as they did other times so need to watch out with that. One time I ordered there fish taco it was very good. Another time I had a coupon for buy one get one free and that time it was so horrible could not even eat it. Slow, oh so very slow! Painfully slow... Time and time again, I see this beacon of hope on my way home from Lake Havasu or Laughlin and it calls my name. It's a pandemic, all food places are up against it. I've had good food here before, when I was staying at Motel 6. But I got there at about 9:30 and ordered their tamales. Food was so dry and crusty and disgusting, but I would still eat it. Before I could eat the second tamale, I was sicker than a dog. Urping in my mouth, monumental heartburn, acid reflux, tasting corn for HOURS. Clearly the tamales were from the day before and were spoiled. BUT place gets one star because I ordered a crispy chicken taco. It was freshly made, full of veggies and cheese. The chix while not crispy was presentable. Dressing was there, tasted good. The lady working the drive through her name on the receipt Daniel was extremely rude. We pulled up to order and she greeted us with a "what can I get you" we ordered. When we got to the window she told us our total we handed her the money, she closed the window then she came back with our food, handed it to us and closed the window again. Decided we would be bad and have some take out. We love del taco especially their cherry coke but omg this del taco was the worst one weve ever been to. The taco meat was cold and so were my fries. Piss poor customer service at 7:45pm on June 17, 2022. Manager in charge has a rude demeanor when putting together delivery orders. After waiting at the intercom for five minutes after being told to "hold on" for whatever reason, the order was not even ready and cashier said driver would have to circle through again. Hungry and greasy from our trudge at Joshua Tree National Park, my (vegetarian) friends and I hopped into the car looking for something quick to eat, and Del Taco caught our eye. Even after walking in and observing the unkempt nature of the facility -- with napkins all over the floor and an utterly decrepit restroom -- our mouths salivated at the thought of warm beans and cheese, complemented by sour cream and guacamole. Came in for a late lunch, sat down and waited for about 10 minutes when we finally went and asked about our food. They had forgotten about us and were somehow already 3 orders ahead. They apologized and said they would give us a taco and up the size on an order. We waited about 5 more minutes and they brought out our order both the large in combo as well as added two tacos and two cookies. It was completely unexpected when they also brought us a full refund! A few days ago, I went thru the drive-thru here and ordered two SOFT Chicken Tacos. When I got home, I discovered they had given me 2 Salsa Chicken Tacos...and the salsa was strong enough to put hair on a billiard ball!! This place is across the street from the hotel I'm staying in. I've eaten from here three times now. The fish tacos are really fishy, but somehow still decent enough for me to keep ordering them. The strawberry lemonade and strawberry shake are DELICIOUS! Likely because they make them with actual strawberries (side-eye at Jack in the Box). The caramel cream cheese bites are fantastic as well. The nachos with beef are pretty okay for late night munchie food. Movie theater cheese sauce and slightly stale chips, but the refried beans and other toppings make up for that. Somehow the place always looks dirty, and I am not fond of Mexican food especially Mexican fast food. I go there for my wife. Today I made the mistake of getting a carne asada burrito. "Carne" is Spanish for "meat" not gristle but gristle is all I got. If there is any spice it must be in the little packets. The food is bad, but slightly better than disgusting. Decent alternative to Taco Hell (Bell)... This location, probably because of it's location in The Stumps, is pretty crappy. I've eaten at other locations throughout Cali, and even new ones in Texas, and it's not that bad for fast food.
