Finally found time to get a haircut after running around town doing errands. My hair was getting pretty bushy so I was WAY overdue. Walked in and was seated immediately. Weekday mornings or early afternoons are the way to go. Perks of being retired. Seems like I always get a different barber but they always do a nice job no matter who it is. Price went up to $28 but that's very fair compared to some of the guys in town who think they're Vidal Sassoon even though 90% of their work is using electric shears. Stylists??? Yeah, sure. The ladies here even give you a quick neck massage which is a nice touch. I was done in a jiffy and out the door happy. Plenty of parking and a Starbucks about 30 yards away if you're in need of a beverage. Thanks Del Wee. I'll be back. read more

Was recommended to go there for a haircut by a bartender friend in Torrance. First time was over a year ago. I'm kinda fussy about who cuts my hair and how they do it..that said, you KNOW you're getting a good haircut when the woman cutting it has been doing it for 45 years! Reasonable price, nice friendly people, good hours. And when I had my latest haircut yesterday, they even helped a woman who had (foolishly) tried (unsuccessfully!) to cut her own hair They fixed it up for her, and she was happy. read more

*** FIRST YELP REVIEW FOR 2025! *** Strapped for time, I simply didn't have time to drive to Los Angeles and see my regular hairdresser. But I'm not complicated: my hair is short, just needed a bit of cleanup. Hubbers mentioned he was gonna get a haircut and mentioned this place is his go-to. He suggested I give them a try. (Yes, it's a barbershop but they can provide the services I needed.) We walked in and we were 6th and 7th in line. 2 of the 3 seats were occupied. It wasn't long when the third was taken. Hubbers let me go first and I ended up with Mingzi. (I believe that's her name.) All I really wanted was clean up on the shave under the mane, no cuts. I didn't even get the chance to tell her: she knew exactly what I wanted. (Although she asked about the cut part which I declined.) Then she got to work. And she was quick. Her hands were light and got the job done in no time. I was impressed! And it's so convenient since it is relatively close to home. I might have just found my new backup for a quick hair job! I've taken my older son here a few times now. A different barber each time but the haircut was good. He has seen Mingzi and Kanha. The shop is old school but the quality is great. My toddler got his hair cut this last time and I'm happy with the results as well. She took good care of him and he was not scared or too antsy. She even gave him a lollipop at the end. This place has been my neighborhood barber shop since before I was born and I went in for the first time today. Lila ("Lee-lah"), the owner and one who cut my hair, has been running the place since 1980 and it shows. She's super kind and sweet, while also really knowing what she's doing - have never had a barber that took their time and gave such a perfect cut. My husband fancies himself a barber... I kindly asked/demanded him to find a place nearby to take our son to get his hair fixed recently. They were able to walk right in and get him seated. Since Luis left there is no reason for me and my son to go back. The ladies there may be good for some people but they aren't anywhere as good as Luis. That's one reason I give one star but the other reason, they look down on you if you ask them anything about Luis and treat you like nothing. I have no plans on going back. read more

I last went to Del Wee Barbershop and received a hair cut from both lady barbers. They are both nice and friendly. That being said each and every time someone waiting for a haircut always asks the ladies when Luis is coming back. The lady barbers always answer that they don't know when he is coming back. They joke and say maybe he won the lotto.... Here is what I know. Luis first cut my hair in 1986 when I was in middle school at the location in front of El Camino College. A truly one man operation. His shop was always packed like sardines with customers. I am now 50 and Luis has cut my hair many times though I moved away from Torrance when I had the time I would drive the distance and bear the long wait line to get a cut. I have read that the ladies said that he is afraid of covid etc etc. I don't believe that. If he did really retire, he would have told the ladies before he left. And there is no way the lady barbers do not know how to contact him and find out if he is coming back. The older lady barber Layla is the owner of the delwee shop since 1980. she definitely for sure would know how to contact him via a phone number. My guess is that Luis somehow did not like working there and left. If anyone who has been a loyal customer of Luis knows of where Luis is or if he really retired please be kind to SPEAK UP. Haven't been going there too long. Went to another barber in Gardena for several years but he is going to close his shop. I was looking around at the shops close and was in the UPS store, not for a haircut, but I looked at the haircut of one of the guys there. I asked him who his barber was and told him not to tell me a shop in Orange county. He said DelWee and the owner was his barber. Went in for a haircut becuase my barber was closed. Showed Luis a picture of the fade done to me by my previous barber. He said he can do it. Mid into it he suggest 1.5 not 1 on top anymore like planned. Then he gives me a really really low fade and when i told him i wanted higher like my picture. He said hes looks better and the way i had it before was too high. Basically not willing to fix it. I don't know if it was pride or what, he had customers there as well which made me feel uncomfortable. Even my brother was laughing wondering where i got my fade from. Or bowl cut as we call it Hes more of an old school barber who doesn't know how to fade. I knew i was in for a surprise when he finished cutting my hair in only 10minutes. Treated me straight like a nunber. If you are into nice clean fades that doesn't look like your drunk buddy did it with some conair clippers this is your place.
