I don't even know where to begin. This place was super cool and open inside with the brew kettles visible as the centerpiece of the restaurant. The more you look around the more interesting the space is. We got the Cheese Curds to start and really enjoyed them! They were fresh, full of cheese and had a light breading. Could've been crisper but overall very good. The southwest ranch was a great dipping sauce. Got the Onion Ale Soup before the meal and it was just alright, nothing special. Seemed like they just broiled it quick because the cheese was melted good but the soup was lukewarm. For the entree I got the Smoked Salmon Salad without tomatoes and added bacon. The salmon was delicious and everything was fresh, but the lemon dill vinaigrette that came with was a little too lemony for my liking. I feel I should go straight to the good but I don't want the company to miss the bad so I'm going to put that first. The hostess is the face of your business. This place has a sign saying wait to be seated. So we stood and waited while people in the company black shirts went all around us. Another group came in and joined us in the waiting. Then a third group. Finally a waitress who was not wanting to be bothered at all informed us she was just a waitress and we had to wait for a hostess. She pointed at two people who were talking away. Then they finally decided to come and seat us. That's our first impression and thankfully our waitress was great and the food was delicious. Okay, Okay. It wouldn't have been a true trip to Wisconsin without sampling true Midwestern brews and indulging on cheese curds. Although we didn't end up ordering them on this visit, I got my fill of them. Don't worry! On our last day in town, we were treated to a lunch at the famed Delafield Brewhaus after hearing our uncle rave about the joint. We trekked through the rain and sure glad we did - as our lunch was fantastic. SPACE: Upon entering, the exposed brewing equipment is first to greet you. Minus the Italian looking Big Boy on the entry way! To the right lies the bar, and the left features a spacious dining area. We were promptly greeted by a sweet woman up front who led us to a table for five near the stone fired pizza oven. Although large in size, the dining space is cozy and familiar, featuring historic tin signs throughout, checkered drapery and dim lighting. SIPS: Although the brew menu is extensive, we each opted to sample a pint with our meal. Being a lover of IPA's, I chose their signature IPA, which was full bodied with cascade hops, crisp and featured a long finish - delicious! The hubs went with the Amber, which he seemed pleased with, while the others sipped on the season Stout, aged in Bourbon barrels! It was the biggest hit at the table, and oh so smooth! SERVICE: Oh, my goodness! Our server was beyond helpful, friendly and kind in assisting us during our long lunch. She gave great menu item suggestions, and dropped a pitcher of water on our table, to ensure our hydration. Throughout our visit, she stopped by many times, ensuring our meals were up to par, and boxed up our leftovers with a smile. We stayed longer than expected, but never once was made to feel that we had to turn the table over - despite how busy it was! Although I'll admit, it was pretty slow for a Monday at 1pm, but who cares. It was nice to sit back, relax and have a great meal without the rush. SUSTENANCE: The large menu has everything all good pubs should have - delicious, greasy food, with some healthy items too! Featuring 1/2 lb burgers, grilled sandwiches, wraps, salads and their famous pizza, I found the menu hard to narrow down! Thankfully, the hubs was craving pizza (like me!) so we opted to split "The Brewmaster", which was loaded with tomatoes, onions, olives, pepperoni and we substituted the green peppers for pineapple - for no extra charge!The pizza came out perfectly cooked, on thin crust and was absolutely delicious! My husband had other choice words for the dish, but found it to hit the spot. The others ordered a smattering of sandwiches and seemed to enjoy their meal as well. While I'm not in this area too often, I'd make a point to return here for a bite and a brew! read more

This is about my 5th time here and every time is a crap shoot- total gamble in the type of experience you'll have. I've had meals from B- to C-. This evening we had the fish fry and it was pretty weak. Fish tasted and looked like the kind you get out the box at the store - Mrs. Paul's, but not oiler. Also it took a long time to get our order. French Onion soup was very nice... they must use a beer base. Very crusty cheese is awesome. I always look to the coleslaw and tarter as the first glance tell about how the fish will be. Coleslaw was warm and limp... no snap, little flavor- one bite and done. Tarter was aired out with crusted yellow topping- under the heat lamp, or out to long? Not appealing. The place itself has huge potential as the atmosphere and brewery room is very cool and welcoming- the food is and has always been completely inconsistent ... major bummer. read more

I was highly disappointed and felt sick after eating at Delafield Brewhaus. I ordered the Thai flatbread pizza and could barely eat 1 piece. It was incredibly salty and overall horrible. My daughter got a grilled cheese sandwich that fell apart (even though the cheese should have done the trick). My husband's chicken sandwich also was disappointing. read more

First time here - this place was ADORABLE! We were seated right away, which was odd cause the place looked packed! (No complaints here though!!) Our waitress came over and we think she might have been new (we asked about sour beers and she started talking about hoppiness) however, this was no biggy. The artichoke dip was hot and creamy and had chunks of artichokes in it which is one of my favorite things. It did lack garlic (in my opinion). I also LOVED the ciabatta bread it came with. The ONLY downfall of this was that we were so full once our dinner came! For dinner, we both ordered the fish fry. The fish was AMAZING. Cooked perfectly, not too much breeding, tasted so good. The coleslaw it came with was just your typical coleslaw, nothing really to rave about. The garlic mashed potatoes that I chose instead of a baked potato sounded so delicious but they didn't live up to their expectations sadly. They didn't have a ton of flavor which I was really surprised about. All and all, I will definitely be back as there was about a million things I wanted to try. I got to restaurant at the time told 30 mins later- when I arrived and parked in the curbside pick up spot and called. They told me on the phone they no longer do curbside. I couldn't wait to return to Delafield Brewhaus for an in-person meal. Not only was the atmosphere fun and family friendly, they also boast a HUGE gluten-free menu for those of us who long for a decent meal that won't result in regret later on. My husband and I were out posing as grown ups running errands, so we stopped for a quick bite. We didn't do our usual three course date night extravaganza, but the single course was more than worth delaying our trip to Costco. We both got the Beer Barron burger without BBQ sauce and I had mine prepared gluten-free. Seriously, this burger was ridiculously good. It was thick, juicy, and cooked to specification! It was piled high with fried onions and served with lettuce and tomatoes on the side. Now, I know burgers CAN be eaten without bread, but that is not my jam. As the self-professed carb-queen, I'm glad they offer Udis GF buns. They are among the very few brands that don't taste like there are two pieces of cardboard hugging my meat. I enjoyed a side of fruit and Kyle had fries, which looked as good as they smelled. Our waitress (Jolene) was also fantastic. She was so knowledgeable about the menu and able to point me towards dishes that were safe. Eating out can be super anxiety provoking with food allergies, so her confidence in the kitchen staff and familiarity with menu items was so reassuring. This was yet another solid trip to Delafield Brewhaus. Fabulous food, competent staff, and a friendly environment are hard to find, but they've nailed it all. read more

After wrapping up business for the day on a trip to Wisconsin, we had to decide where to eat for dinner. Being originally from Wisconsin, I needed a bratwurst, in a bun with kraut, nothing fancy. I figured they must be available on just about every street corner. But, apparently, in today's Wisconsin, brats have gone underground and I was not finding any nearby; one place had "brat" in its name but when I called them they said that was five years ago and they are now a roast beef place; Yellow Pages Book probably was more up to date than the internet this time. I guess they must have brats at the hardware stores now (not kidding, as I found out months later, and for only $3). After unsuccessfully searching on line trying to find a nearby place to get a bratwurst, I finally found Delafield Brewhaus, a brew pub sort of restaurant. They said they had it as part of a plate dinner combo and not as a sandwich...but at least it was a brat! So we drove over there and that is where we had dinner. We were so hungry that we ordered the fried appetizer to share...whatever you can imagine, it was fried and put on the appetizer plate. Everything was delicious, hey-it was fried, and we finished it, and then...we were full, and then...our order arrived-my brats and my wife's pizza. Kudos to Delafield Brewhaus, they even found a bun for my bratwurst plate dinner! Everything was, again, tasty and delicious. Of course, it would have been more tasty and delicious if we hadn't just polished off a fried appetizer plate (platter was more like it). I have since learned places I can go to if I just want to have a decent bratwurst sandwich, including the hardware stores. But for a variety of dishes as well as beer made in house, this would be the right choice. read more

Beer wise (and this is a brewhaus), it's a three. The beer is just ok. Pretty average, and honestly there are corporate beers I would rather drink. Just put in a bunch of Lienies or Sam Adams on tap. It's a wood fire pizza place, Big wood fire oven, the pizza is better than the beer, but still not a five. I don't think they fire it hot enough and the dough is just good, not great. The pizza comes out cooked well, but I like my wood fired pizza with a little char in places on the crust, not just some brown spots. It's a sit down casual place - it does this pretty well. Good staff, lots of seating, decent atmosphere for what it is. Food is good, at least a four, and varied. They really will serve you a rare burger (five points) if you order it, but sometimes it seems like they forget to use enough salt. It's a sports bar (sort of) Lots of tv's with sports on, but the tv's run small. The bar staff can be very fun, and very sarcastic. If you like your bar staff to be quick and sarcastic, all the while paying attention and keeping your glass full, this place does that well. Five for the staff, Four for the sports bar portion. Plenty of seating - got a big party of 20? They can make that work. Just two of you - thats ok also. In the end, a four because of the sum of the parts. As a Brewhaus - just a three. read more

We stopped into Delafield Brewhaus for a few beers last Friday, and I enjoyed it far more than I expected to! We were a bit put off by the nearly empty parking lot when we arrived (however, that was just late afternoon). We walked in and took a couple seats right at the bar. We started with the sampler so we could taste as many of their beers as possible - and most were pretty good! One of the bartenders came over and asked us if the pomegranite lager was on the sampler. We reported that it wasn't, which we were kind of disappointed about since neither of us had ever tried anything like that (we're more for IPAs - not lagers, and not flavored beers). Well, the pomegranite lager ended up being absolutely incredible! We even got a growler to go (which is already gone). By the time we left here, the place was hopping. Still, the whole time we sat at the bar, service was friendly - and, of course, the beer and food is good! I'd definitely go back. read more

Had a wedding rehearsal here. Trish was very helpful and made it easy thru email in setting up. Pizza and wings were the menu we chose. I love that they have an upstairs party area that is open and overlooks the restaurant. I arrived 15 minutes early to greet my guests. I found the start to be a little slow and awkward in getting started with the pitchers of beer. There were no glasses set up until people started to arrive so as they came there was a fairly long wait to get a glass and they were delivered only as each person arrived but they knew of our head count. Same for water and soda. About 20 minutes into it though the service started to flow much better. We only had one server for our table of 20. I'm not sure our server was dedicated to our party and may have had other tables below to tend to. Our table seemed very cramped. Long and narrow. There was not much space for us to eat let alone the food platters being placed in front of us. The wings were sent to the table in chafing pans. I would have thought there would have been a nicer presentation since that was the reason we picked Delafield Brew Haus as the venue. We wanted a more upscale pizza party! There was also an issue with keeping up with chicken bone removal. Perhaps one of those chafing pans would be handy for dumping them. Now for the good stuff! Everyone loved the food. The pizzas were great and had a nice variety to choose from and this time the tomatoes on the brewchatta pizza tasted of balsamic! The wings were delicious and I expected 25 per platter but I think it was more like at least 50 per platter. All in all we had nice experience and I'm sure some of our guests, they loved it, will be new repeat customers. There were no surprises at bill time and having checked around the area, the party price to have it here was only slightly higher than other pizza places. read more

Have been here exactly once per year for a committee meeting fir the last few years. They always do a nice job handling a large group, and breaking up the checks/tabs. This time around, i had the pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries. The sandwich comes with coleslaw on it, but I chose to have it on the side. The pork was absolutley delicious. The sweet potato fries didn't quite hit my taste buds high, but i just might be choosy. We ate dinner here around 8:30 on a Friday before Christmas. We ordered their famous Asiago spinach appetizer that was my favorite part of the meal. My boyfriend ordered a beer and I water which were promptly delivered. For dinner, he got a fish fry and I got chicken tenders. I was underwhelmed by the chicken tenders. My side of ranch was very runny and I didn't even want to use it after the first try. The fries that came with the fish fry were very plain, not seasoned at all. His second beer also took quite a bit to pour and was brought to us by the brewmaster. We had thought we were forgotten until the waitress came and clarified after the beer was brought over. I would suggest letting us know beforehand when we placed the order that the beer has to be poured a specific way... I don't remember the name, but it was very smokey and good. Overall, I would visit again and probably just have beer and appetizers. The ambiance is beautiful and the beers are good. This is a hard place to review. So I'm going to use math to be as objective as possible. The beer: The Sommerzeit Hefe Weizen, Pewaukee Porter, and Naga-Wicked Pale Ale are all great. 4 stars. The food: It's hit and miss. Some menu items always seem to be good, like the German Roll, the sausage platter, the chicken and spinach cavatappi. The tri-mustard items seem to be our favorites. The pizzas are decent. The fish and burgers can miss. I've seen cold oil mistakes (greasy) on through to old oil flavor on the fish. The burgers can be hockey pucks or on the rare side of rare. So you need to smell it for burnt odor and cut into it immediately with the server present. 2 stars. The atmosphere: It's nice. Nice view of the stone fire cooking area, brewing kettles, lots of woodwork. Bands on Most Saturdays are fun. Seasonal outdoor seating is nice. It does get really loud fast inside if there is a wedding, or band. 4 stars. The service: Service seems to be the third rail of restaurants these days. It's hard to find good help. The servers are hit and miss. We now go straight to the bar to get a drink before we sit. We order drinks before we need them. 2 stars. So if I've done my math correctly this is a three star establishment. I want to give it four stars, but it's not consistent enough to earn that rating. read more

This place is so good!! Yummy cocktails. The food we all ordered was great and we were all happy. The server/kitchen/bartender made a couple of slip-ups with our orders between food and drink, but they seemed to all work together great as a team and they were able to rectify everything quickly and not really compromise our experience. Of course the man we were celebrating had to wait for his entree because it was missing, which was a bummer, but - it happens, and he literally waited about 10 minutes for his correct entree. Our server was super friendly and sweet. The cheese curds were great (we were cheese curd virgins, but broke the seal here, after buying a property in WI!) We'll definitely be back.
