I'm so happy this restaurant in my neighborhood. I'm originally from Orange County and I love love love Persian food and there's not too many Persian options in NorCal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and good for groups. The service was so kind and helpful. The food took a bit of time, but it was worth the wait and it was very fresh and juicy. We ordered the shallot yogurt dip with some extra pita that was perfect for a lighter option appetizer. I ordered the Vazeri entree which came with salad, rice, beef and chicken. My husband ordered the Koobideh which is salad, rice & only beef. My husband and I actually enjoyed the Vazeri entrée more because the chicken was just so great and had a nice char on it. There wasn't many people when we went in around 8:30pm on a Friday night which we were surprised because we think the food is so amazing but we did notice people coming in a little closer to closing time, which is 10 PM. Either way this is a spot you definitely want to come and try out and I can't wait to be back and take friends and family. read more

Delam was pretty good. The food was on the better side, but the chicken was a little bit dry. It was pretty well seasoned and the portion sizes were great! The restaurant itself was super cute and pleasant to be at. The only issues were that one of the cups and a few of our plates were a bit dirty when we sat at the table. And while service was fast when it came to ordering and receiving the food, we had to flag the waiter for anything else. But our waitress was super sweet anyways! Overall, we liked it, but we're not sure if we'd come back again. But if you do end up going, get the appetizer platter which I'm pretty sure was called the mezze platter. For example, the chicken joojeh kebab comes atop a bright and tangy mustard-yogurt sauce, while the kashke bademjoon has a smoky flavor that offers surprising depth for the traditional appetizer. These flavors absolutely add to the overall taste, and make them special to Delam -- I don't think I've ever had Persian food quite like the way they do it. And I loved it! The service was excellent, as it's clearly a family-run business; you can feel the genuine care and sense of community at this place. I'd go back again just to chat with our friendly server Jasmine, or her mother who made sure to stop by every table to make sure the experience was going well. The food here is delicious. I've been dreaming about it since my last visit. The mezzo plate could be a meal. The contents are unlike any other mezza plate- so wonderful. We also had the fessenjoon and the beef kabob- both perfect. The owners were present and so freindly. Recipes are from their families. Delam is Persian for "my heart" and it's often used like a term of endearment or to express deep emotion or longing. This all checks out because I have been LONGING for more Persian food in the city and I'm so excited to have a good new Persian restaurant in the mission. Stumbled upon this place by accident (I feel like I should have been notified) and was so pleasantly surprised. The Koobideh (ground beef skewers) is definitely their strength and it's some of the best I've had in SF. The Kashkouli Bademjan (smoked eggplant appetizer) hit the spot. Textures and flavors exactly where they're supposed to be. Terrific ambiance that feels comfortable and warm, like visiting family. Speaking of which, the family that owns the restaurant has long ties to the mission and works hard to make this place feel hospitable and welcoming. This place hasn't gotten much press or word of mouth yet because it just opened last week but it's inevitable (I hope). Definitely check it out. read more

Being Persian, I am a tough critic. I think Delam is by far the best Persian restaurant in the city. Starting with their tea infused with saffron and rose water, all the way to their homemade Persian ice cream and baklava. The service was great, the owner is so funny and kind, and the restaurant itself is cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend checking out this spot. Several people in our group became ill within hours of eating at Delam, and the symptoms were serious enough that we sought medical care. A doctor confirmed that it was food poisoning. Importantly, those who became sick were not all from the same household. For example, my mother-in-law, who lives separately and had not eaten with us earlier that day, experienced the same symptoms within the same timeframe after the meal. We had not shared any other food together prior to dining at your restaurant, so the meal at Delam was the only common exposure. While I understand the desire to defend your business, medical conclusions should be left to medical professionals. In this case, the timing, the number of people affected, and the doctor's confirmation all strongly point to that meal. As a new restaurant, I hope you take feedback like this seriously and review your food safety processes so others do not have a similar experience. Original review I came here with my family and was really excited to try Delam. we love Persian food and were happy to see a new spot open in the Mission. The ambiance was lovely and the space felt warm and inviting. Service was friendly though they are still hiring so was a little understaffed , and overall the experience initially felt promising. The food itself tasted fine during the meal (except for maybe the eggplant dish), and we were excited about having another Persian restaurant in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, all of us who ate together became sick the next day and experienced what seemed like food poisoning. I understand this is a new restaurant and there can be growing pains while operations are getting settled, but this was a pretty difficult experience for our family. We visited Delam for Father's Day dinner, and it was truly a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance was both elegant and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. We started with the Mezze Platter, Salad Shirazi, and crispy potato tahdig with pomegranate stew. Every dish was delicious, and my favorite appetizer was the olives. For our main courses, we ordered the Filet Mignon Kabob, Ground Beef Kabob, and Vazeri Kabob. The rice tasted like a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal, and the kabobs were the best we have had in the Bay Area in the past two decades. The restaurant also has a large TV, so we enjoyed watching the FIFA soccer matches during dinner. What made the evening even more special was the warm hospitality of the owners, who made us feel genuinely welcomed and connected. To finish the meal, we enjoyed Persian tea served with raisins and Persian candy, along with a beautifully presented Persian saffron ice cream. Must a khiar watered down and no flavor. Very small amount of bread for dipping and they give you parsley for fresh herbs!! Parsley is for garnish or cooking, they need to provide fresh basil, mint and cilantro and white onions, Any Persian will agree!! And now entree, wow! $45 for Soltani. The barg was so tough and dry, it is supposed to be filet mignon cut. This was a thin cheap cut. Koobideh was very dry too and no flavor of saffron and onions. Restaurant is very nicely decorated and clean. But food needs to improve. Persian food is all love and you can't cut corners. Not too many Persian restaurants in the bay so you must represent and educate yourself so you can serve proper Persian cuisine. read more

Every time l'm in the area, I make sure to come here because the food is consistently amazing and they have unbelievable selection of wines! I've tried the most of their menu -- all absolutely delicious. Their appetizers are incredible as well, Everything is so flavorful and fresh. I've also been here for dinner, and the portions are very generous - honestly, one order can easily be shared by two people. We made a 9 PM reservation on a Saturday expecting it to be busy, but were surprised to find we were the only guests dining at that time. The host/waiter was warm and welcoming. We ordered the multi-mazeh appetizer and, based on his recommendation, tried their top three kabob dishes. The Barg was definitely the standout--tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The dishes were nicely decorated overall, though the appetizers were just okay.However loved their mast-o-musir and they brought us complimentary Kashk bademjoon which was delicious. We didn't order any alcoholic drinks, but overall we had a pleasant experience. The average cost came to about $65 per person, which felt a bit on the higher side. Still, we genuinely enjoyed the friendly service and the chance to meet the owner and his son. The flavor of the stew was a tad sweet and very savory. I honestly couldn't get enough. The entree came with a side of rice and salad which rounded out for a proper dinner. Now normally I don't order dessert. I don't have a sweet tooth. But I will if the meal was excellent and ours was. They only have 2 desserts. Baklava and saffron ice cream. The Baklava was delightful. 2 small round pieces drizzled with honey. The saffron ice cream was....AMAZING!!! Not too sweet, creamy, and chef's kiss on the unique flavor. We all loved it! Just 2 small scoops with a few nuts on top. We ordered the cardamom tea. Perfect ending to a lovely dinner. Let's not forget the lovely owner. I didnt catch her name. It just launched in December 2025 and is a brand-new, family-owned spot in a great location right on Valencia Street (very safe).
