Absolutely loved this new Persian place on Valencia and highly recommend it. Can't wait to go there again. Delicious food, the staff are super friendly and atmosphere is very nice with a lovely music in the background.

I'm so happy this restaurant in my neighborhood. I'm originally from Orange County and I love love love Persian food and there's not too many Persian options in NorCal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and good for groups. The service was so kind and helpful. The food took a bit of time, but it was worth the wait and it was very fresh and juicy. We ordered the shallot yogurt dip with some extra pita that was perfect for a lighter option appetizer. I ordered the Vazeri entree which came with salad, rice, beef and chicken. My husband ordered the Koobideh which is salad, rice & only beef. My husband and I actually enjoyed the Vazeri entrée more because the chicken was just so great and had a nice char on it. There wasn't many people when we went in around 8:30pm on a Friday night which we were surprised because we think the food is so amazing but we did notice people coming in a little closer to closing time, which is 10 PM. Either way this is a spot you definitely want to come and try out and I can't wait to be back and take friends and family.

Delam was pretty good. The food was on the better side, but the chicken was a little bit dry. It was pretty well seasoned and the portion sizes were great! The restaurant itself was super cute and pleasant to be at. The only issues were that one of the cups and a few of our plates were a bit dirty when we sat at the table. And while service was fast when it came to ordering and receiving the food, we had to flag the waiter for anything else. But our waitress was super sweet anyways! Overall, we liked it, but we're not sure if we'd come back again. But if you do end up going, get the appetizer platter which I'm pretty sure was called the mezze platter. Lots of fun apps to try.

Really good new spot - will definitely be back. Big fan of the Vazeri and the Pistachio ice cream. Been wanting to find good Persian food in SF as someone who grew up in Vancouver!

Cozy new Persian joint in the Mission with a KILLER koobideh. Delam hits all the marks when it comes to classic Persian cuisine, but does it with a twist -- many of the dishes have unique touches that really make the food special to Delam. For example, the chicken joojeh kebab comes atop a bright and tangy mustard-yogurt sauce, while the kashke bademjoon has a smoky flavor that offers surprising depth for the traditional appetizer. These flavors absolutely add to the overall taste, and make them special to Delam -- I don't think I've ever had Persian food quite like the way they do it. And I loved it! The service was excellent, as it's clearly a family-run business; you can feel the genuine care and sense of community at this place. I'd go back again just to chat with our friendly server Jasmine, or her mother who made sure to stop by every table to make sure the experience was going well. It's really top notch here, and we'll be back again soon.

Loved it! Been waiting for a new Persian restaurant to grace our city. We really enjoyed their appetizers , koobideh, and above all, their yummy desserts. Service that makes to feel right at home and sentimental touches that truly highlight culture. Looking forward to coming back and trying every item on the menu!

Delam is Persian for "my heart" and it's often used like a term of endearment or to express deep emotion or longing. This all checks out because I have been LONGING for more Persian food in the city and I'm so excited to have a good new Persian restaurant in the mission. Stumbled upon this place by accident (I feel like I should have been notified) and was so pleasantly surprised. The Koobideh (ground beef skewers) is definitely their strength and it's some of the best I've had in SF. The Kashkouli Bademjan (smoked eggplant appetizer) hit the spot. Textures and flavors exactly where they're supposed to be. Terrific ambiance that feels comfortable and warm, like visiting family. Speaking of which, the family that owns the restaurant has long ties to the mission and works hard to make this place feel hospitable and welcoming. This place hasn't gotten much press or word of mouth yet because it just opened last week but it's inevitable (I hope). Definitely check it out.

Being Persian, I am a tough critic. I think Delam is by far the best Persian restaurant in the city. Starting with their tea infused with saffron and rose water, all the way to their homemade Persian ice cream and baklava. The service was great, the owner is so funny and kind, and the restaurant itself is cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend checking out this spot. I'll be bringing my mom here when she visits so she can experience Delam as well.

This is a great place for a group dinner! The tea was amazing and the waitress kept on refilling our cups! Everything we ordered was delicious and I would definitely come back!

Chicken kabob with 1 skewer of koobideh and baghali polo and a side of tahdik
    Soran M.

Newest Iranian food in the city. I was really impressed by the chicken skewer plate. I would rank it top tier. The tahdik is highly recommended, especially with one of the stews as topping, I wouldn't get it just by itself. The kashke bademjan was also very tasty.

We visited Delam for Father's Day dinner, and it was truly a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance was both elegant and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. We started with the Mezze Platter, Salad Shirazi, and crispy potato tahdig with pomegranate stew. Every dish was delicious, and my favorite appetizer was the olives. For our main courses, we ordered the Filet Mignon Kabob, Ground Beef Kabob, and Vazeri Kabob. The rice tasted like a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal, and the kabobs were the best we have had in the Bay Area in the past two decades. The restaurant also has a large TV, so we enjoyed watching the FIFA soccer matches during dinner. What made the evening even more special was the warm hospitality of the owners, who made us feel genuinely welcomed and connected. To finish the meal, we enjoyed Persian tea served with raisins and Persian candy, along with a beautifully presented Persian saffron ice cream. These thoughtful touches made for a memorable ending to an exceptional meal. I highly recommend Delam for its outstanding food, warm hospitality, and overall dining experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Great new Persian spot in Valencia. Flavorful kabobs, fragrant saffron rice, and really friendly service. Cozy vibe, good prices, and solid portions. Definitely worth stopping by if you're craving Persian food.

Koobideh, Soltani, Mast o Musir, Babaganoush, and Tahdig.

Delam is hands down the best Persian restaurant in San Francisco. After searching for authentic Persian food for a long time and trying every option in the city, nothing compares to this place. The quality is incredible, the flavors are authentic, and the customer service is excellent. We ordered takeout, and the kabobs were still amazing even after reheating -- something that rarely happens. The Barg was outstanding (and I'm not even someone who typically likes Barg). The rice, yogurt, and every side dish we tried were all perfectly prepared and tasted truly authentic. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. If the service was this good for a to-go order, I can only imagine how great the dine-in experience will be. Absolutely my new go-to Persian restaurant in San Francisco. Highly recommend!

You get perks as a thank-you for doing your part in making the City a cleaner place. We had just had a lovely time at another participating business (Beehive) and planned on Arcana being our final stop. Thankfully I was able to use the restroom without a fee, with my gear held up outside by the security team. While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. It's all rather unfortunate as other visits here went off without an issue. I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .

The energy is vibrant without feeling overwhelming, and the noise level is just right. It's quiet enough to have a conversation and get lost in your own thoughts, but not so quiet that you feel awkward sitting in silence. Plus, the people watching was pretty entertaining, which definitely added to the experience. The three of us only tried two different wines. My friend ordered a glass of Masha, while my other friend and I both ordered the Los Chuchaquis. The verdict: Masha was really good. Good enough that a second glass was ordered! As for the Los Chuchaquis, I personally didn't love it. I found it a little too tannic and bitter for my taste. If you have a low tolerance for bitterness, this might not be the wine for you. That said, my friend, who ordered the same wine, absolutely loved it and thought it was delicious. So maybe I just ordered the wrong wine for my palate? ‍ Either way, the wine is only part of the experience. The energy here is fantastic, the bartender was welcoming and friendly, and the crowd was cheerful without being obnoxious, which I really appreciate. I'm not usually much of a night person, but I genuinely had a great time. It was one of those evenings that reminded me how nice it is to get out, enjoy good company, and simply soak in the atmosphere. I'm really glad I took my friends up on their offer to go out. Definitely a 5 star experience for the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. This seems to be such an interesting neighborhood. I'd love to come back and wander around, explore more, and discover what else this part of the city has to offer.
