Great place to go for a romantic dinner or - in our case - a girl's night out. Not too noisy either. We shared the mixed platter, which comes with a sampler of each of the dips and warm soft pita bread, so if you can't decide what to get or like to try a little bit of everything, would recommend. All the dips were so flavorful and the falafel was warm, crispy, and fluffy. We also shared some shishito peppers which balanced well with the yogurt and sea salt. Could not stop eating. For the entree, I had the sultani which comes with their grilled, marinated ground beef and lamb to your preferred doneness (I requested medium rare) and a smoky eggplant and peppers sauce that still makes my mouth water just thinking back on it. For dessert, we shared the kunefe - a baked pastry filled with levantine cheese in syrup and topped with pistachios - and the chocolate sponge cake filled with hazelnut cream. I loved dunya! This was my first time here and I'd definitely recommend. The vibe inside was amazing - super clean, calm, and I really liked the dim lighting. The food was great! I honestly found the food here incredibly mid, so I didn't even bother capturing photos. I came with a group of several friends for some eats while bar hopping along Polk St. We ordered several small plates to share, but it only afforded a couple of bites each per dish. Since we came ahead of the dinner rush, there was no wait to get in even though we didn't have a resy. While it was a convenient spot to pop in, everything was too gourmet, and when the check came, the sum amounted to $20 per person for the equivalent of a micro-snack. For that price, I would've been better off (and actually gotten full) had I just grabbed a slice of pizza, salad, or sando on my own. Parking was alright on a Friday evening, but the neighborhood is a beautiful walk. Greeted at the door, we were offered a seat at the bar since we did not have reservations. The servers were sweet and attentive. We tried their Greek wine & got a second glass to compliment the first. For our appetizers we shared the octopus, small portions but a delicious start to our meal. We shared the Keftedes and the Beyti. The food was good and worth the try. Dunya is my new favorite restaurant in SF. I really enjoy Mediterranean food and the food from Dunya has increased my appreciation even more. The owner, Coskun, is absolutely delightful, warm and welcoming. The mixed meze platter he curated was absolutely divine and just enough to appease my appetite. The space is moody and romantic, perfect for a wine bar. I didn't have any wine because I wasn't drinking at the time but I will try some next time. This is my absolute favorite bottomless brunch spot in all of SF! My friends and I have probably been here at least 10 times and we always look forward to the next time we get to go back. I almost always get the burger, which is made with a delicious combination of ground beef and lamb. The patty is so thick and juicy, I usually deconstruct it and eat the burger piece by piece. The fries are thin, crispy, and well seasoned too. The servers are absolutely phenomenal, very attentive but not overwhelming. Came back to Dunya this weekend for a lunch visit and bottomless mimosas! Once again, was not disappointed by this place. The waitstaff are always really friendly to us and happy to keep the mimosas coming. We made a reservation for 12:30 and were the only customers when we arrived, but as time went on the restaurant filled up in the early afternoon around 1/1:30. The food here is also really good. I went with the dunya burger, which is a beef and lamb patty on a ciabatta bun. The price for the burger is a little on the high side ($22), but it comes with fries AND a side salad, so in the end it feels like a good deal for the amount of food. We came in for dinner on SB Sunday... The restaurant is located on Polk Street and parking can be difficult at any time of the day or night. We got in, and found that we were the only patrons in the place. We figured everyone else was still watching the game/post game etc... The interior is really nice and our server was great. What turned us off though was that the staff was talking and joking the entire time we were there. Not about us, but just that regular chatter and kidding around. But, they were really loud and annoying. The menu is good and has a nice variety of items to select from. We began with the mixed Meze platter - this was an excellent choice, and the star of the night with so many items to try. The muhammara was our favorite though. For the mains, we both enjoyed the Musakka, and shared the brussel sprouts dish. Brussel sprouts were excellently prepared. The Musakka was very good, but admittedly we have had better elsewhere. Had an amazing dinner at Dunya recently. We had the mixed Mazarin platter as an appetizer. Loved all the dips that came with it as well as the fresh warm pita. For the main course we enjoyed the mixed grill and salmon. The mixed grill had chicken, lamb, and steak. They were all delicious but my favorite was the steak. It was perfectly seasoned, tender, and cooked to an exact medium rare. The service was also top notch wit my our waitress checking in on us through the meal and refilling our drinks whenever we needed it. We also loved to cozy Mediterranean vibe from the interior and looking at the huge selection of wine near the bar. 10/10 would recommend Dunya if you're looking for a place for a nice date night or for a casual dinner with friends or colleagues. read more

This is the perfect spot for a cozy and romantic date night before a show at the Masonic. We shared the mixed grill plate and it was more than enough meat for two people -- would highly recommend this plate, as you can try four different types of meat, including the keftedes, adana, lamb, and chicken. It only comes with a single serving of rice though, so if splitting between two you may want to order an additional side. My personal favorite meat was the lamb brochette, though everything was seasoned well and tasted great. The real star of the meal, however, was the warm grape leaves appetizer, with rice and tzatziki sauce that packed a ton of flavor. Don't forget to squeeze the lemon on top! We ordered the melitzano puree as well (it comes with pita bread), but it was a bit bland and not as puréed as we expected (it wasn't the consistency of a dip). We'll skip this one next time and replace it with an order of that delicious tzatziki sauce! Excellent selection of wine, but be prepared that there's no beer or cocktails. The staff was extremely attentive and very kind -- they went out of their way to check in and brought us the food in time for our comedy show. A quick 10 minute walk after dinner (be prepared, it's uphill) and we were at the steps of the Masonic. This is definitely a restaurant to try if you're looking for something hearty yet romantic. Inside was clean and great place for friends to get together or a date. The service was great. The food was so good. The platter had a bit of all the appetizers. The pita that comes with it are like Doritos size chips. If you finish, they bring you more. I thought that was great because sometimes the pita bread is gone when you still have hummus and other dips leftover. I got the moussaka and it was probably one of the best I ever had! I'm not sure what type of cheese was on top but it was at least an inch thick. It was toasted/baked on top just right. The eggplant and sliced potato was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The tomato sauce was tasty as well. I will definitely get it again! My friend got the lamb skewers. Generally, I don't eat a lot of meat; nonetheless, lamb, but it was actually pretty good.
