We tried the Cove Clam and Mushroom pizzas, both with interesting and tasty flavor combinations. But the pizzas were much smaller than expected. They're more like a flatbread than the traditional pizza I'm used to. Portions are on the smaller side, so you may need to order a few dishes to feel full. Came in on a thursday around 12 as a group of 5 (2 adults 3 kids) and got seated no problem. The pizza was good, but pricey. For these two pizzas it came out to a bit over $55. However the service wasn't good. After being seated it became clear the difference in energy and service everyone around us was getting. I'm not sure if the assumption was that we weren't going to tip since we were on the younger side compared to the rest of the customers or what was going on. We weren't checked on, took awhile for us to get water refills, and to get the bill. While every table near us was checked on regularly, had conversations with their server, and even those who entered after us were greeted with more energy and warmth than we did. Was excited to try this place because of all the good reviews but unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. Their pizzas range from $23-29, but they are pretty small/single serve in my opinion. Usually pizzas that expensive taste more gourmet but there was nothing special about any of these pizzas. You'd probably satisfy this same craving with a slice of Costco pizza which is way cheaper. The pasta on their menu was also subpar and nothing much to rave about. Service was okay, but it took a while to flag down our servers and get them to take our orders, bring us water, and pay for the bill. Its location is perfect as it is within walking distance to these popular venues. But they also have serve up some of the tastiest pizzas in town and the service is always friendly. I mean, that probably sums it up for this great spot. We especially love their Penn Cove Clams, Yukon Gold Potato, Pepperoni Pizza, and ferndale farms mozzarella. After hearing the buzz about Serious Pie for years, I finally had to try it out. Honestly, I had forgotten I visited here on my first trip to Seattle back in 2017! Clearly, I have grown over the years by the change in my review! So recently I've tried both take-out and dine-in, and my conclusion: take-out was a bust. The pizza just lost its magic on the ride home. The crust wasn't as crisp, and the flavors didn't pop in the same way. The experience dining in at the downtown restaurant was night and day. The smell of the fire, coupled with the busy, fast-moving environment, created a fantastic atmosphere. The real star of the show is the Penn Cove Clam Pizza. The combination of salty clams, savory pancetta, and a hint of lemon thyme on that perfectly charred crust is a truly spectacular flavor combination. This is a pizza that demands to be eaten fresh, right out of the oven, with the crust still blistered and the toppings steaming. I'm giving Serious Pie 4 out of 5 stars because it is a bit pricey, but for the dine-in experience, it's absolutely worth every penny. Just do yourself a favor and plan to dine in. read more

After a long day of exploring downtown Seattle and visiting a museum, my friend and I stopped into Serious Pie on a Friday afternoon. We had dinner reservations and were seeking a snack to hold us over. We noticed that Serious Pie offered $8 half pies for happy hour so we agreed to try it out. Once inside, we were seated immediately and able to place our order. What arrived was about the size of a personal pan pizza fresh from the oven. For the price, it did the trick. My only complaint, and the reason I docked a star, is because the mozzarella on the pizza, once lifted, fell off in a solid chunk either falling on the plate and taking the rest of the ingredients with it or forcing you to handle a mouthful of hot mozzarella at once. Twas difficult to eat despite the good flavor. Wouldn't hesitate to visit and try other menu items in the future though. read more

The focaccia which came with our soups is ridiculously good. I could have eaten twenty pieces of it. I don't know if they sell the focaccia by itself but if they do, get a ton of it, eat it all, and start your diet tomorrow. There are not that many selections of pizza. Whatever you do, make sure you try the one with sausage. The one with pear, pancetta, goat cheese, and hot honey was very nice but man, that was a lot of different flavors competing with each other. The tomato soup was obviously homemade but could have used a pinch of salt. The soup comes with a smallish piece of that insane focaccia. Service--once we met our server--was excellent. Unfortunately, after being seated, we literally sat at our table for ten minutes without anyone coming by for any reason. I mean, come on now. Was it something I said? My clothes? My smell? The restaurant is very attractively designed. It is modern looking but comfortable, too. The bar is absolutely gorgeous. The Negroni cocktail was terrific.
