Visited the DC area and stayed in Alexandria VA. Walked around a bit and had noticed Delia's on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Glad we did!! It's generally Mediterranean food as they have some eggplant spreads on the appetizer menu...we tried one and it came with fresh baked pita bread...WOW!! The wine list had some interesting choices and reasonable prices so we gambled on one we knew nothing about and it was quite good!! I had a great bone-in pork chop nicely charred with perfect mashed potatoes and veggies. My wife had steak kebab's with tasty veggies and peppers on the skewers. Accompanied by a delicious lemony rice pilaf. Our waiter was attentive and the food was delivered promptly so all good! Food is worthy of a 4 star rating, but the service is terrible. A popular spot for locals to gather after work. A full bar sports a Happy Hour from 4pm-7pm. The menu has roots in Italian and Mediterranean fare. Brick oven pizza starts with great dough, quality cheese and pepperoni. The best pizza on this trip. The deconstructed gyro platter is fantastic. Lots of flavorful gyro meat served along with fresh lettuce, cucumber, Tzatziki sauce, cooked potato and marinated tomato wedges. The roasted red pepper hummus is a great starter and the side of fries are well seasoned. The downside was the service. I had to get up a few times to get water, then again to get refills on drinks and additional napkins. I got up more times in that meal than I have at a fast food place. went here to use a restaurants.com certificate that they don't even accept. The service was alright and food was good but the least management could have done was to give us a discount or waive the cost of the gift certificate. Overall very disappointed in how the situation was handled. After the manager came over to us he said the certificate was a "scam and they do not have an account with restaurants.com." I went online to get my money back for the certificate we purchased but they could not reimburse it due to the money already being paid to the restaurant on behalf of restaurants.com. Don't fall for it they are pocketing the money and not even honoring the certificates. read more

Sat at the bar, and here are some observations: the bartender was cool and kept you hydrated; the rest of the people in the bar area seemed like they were regulars and were all having a good time; the sangria was great; the beer was cold. We always have a fantastic experience each time we dine at Deilia's. The staff is super friendly, and never fails to remember and greet us when we arrive. The vibe is lively and upbeat. We usually start with a mixed greens salad. Our go-to dish is the lamb chops, which are delicious! Served with broccolini and greek style potatoes, it's a satisfying meal. I had high hopes for the pizza but I think the pizza did not hold up as well as the ricotta cheese seem to have separated from the rest of the pizza. The Gamberetti Alla Montese was my least favorite. The pasta dish was pretty pricey and lacked in flavor and seasoning. I could not get the taste of the sauce. There was pretty big chunks of crab and shrimp. The herbed grilled chicken wings were pretty tasty. Could have been better. While the setting is nice, other elements of the evening were unimpressive. Service was slow, taking ~10 minutes to even get a server. We actually had to ask for someone to take our order. When the food came, it wasn't prepared in the best manner. We haven't eaten there before and it was good, but this time didn't cut it. While my wife's pizza (Smokey pepp) was good, my son's pollo brunello had overcooked chicken (very dry). And I found the pollo francese had competing flavors. I'll accept some of the blame for choosing it, but don't think a lemon sauce for the chicken goes well with a tomato-based sauce for the pasta. I think this needs to be re-thought. The grilled octopus was tender with a nice char though slightly overcooked, and the truffle fries were crispy with just the right amount of Parmesan. Atmosphere was okay, I'd suggest sitting in the bar area, the rest is very average in ambiance. Happy hour deals were great! Delia's is conveniently located across from the IMAX theater, so my friend and I got a small bite to eat. We decided to grab a spot at the bar and luckily they had a happy hour menu. The bar area is cozy (= small) but is friendly and has TVs playing sports. The bartender serves the bar and the few high top tables, so he had a lot on his hands but was prompt and had great suggestions for us. We went with two items on their happy hour menu, so I don't think they are on the regular menu. Spicy chorizo flatbread pizza and the mini gyros. Both were tasty but the winner was the pizza. I would imagine that their full sized pizzas are amazing. The mini gyros were flavorful, but the crispiness of the pitas made it difficult to eat by hand. Wish they were soft pitas. I really liked Delia's and since they are so convenient to the theater, plan on making it my regular pre-movie spot. read more

We came here for a weekday dinner and the service was friendly and efficient. We explained our group's food allergies and dietary restrictions and our server checked our order with the kitchen and came back to let know what we needed to change. We got the Mediterranean trio with hummus, whipped feta, and harissa, and the pita was hot, fresh, and fluffy, and the hummus, which I usually find boring, was especially flavorful. We also got the herb grilled wings and they were great with the dipping sauce. I ordered the short rib gnocchi and it was perfect, with extremely tender, light gnocchi. I really like the food here I have had their pizza gyro platter and a variety of salads However, I was a bit disappointed yesterday with the staff and how it negatively impacted my visit- I basically shouldn't be impacted by your failing business practices and internal politics- not my problem as a paying customer! And I control the TIPS which means ' to insure proper service' We arrived at 3 pm and a very nice and responsive wait staff was also acting as the bartender-all was good. Just before happy hour (4pm) Andrew, the actual bartender came on duty and the atmosphere became so thick you could cut it with a knife. Andrew basically ignored our group and pushed our request off to the other wait staff. To finish and cut the air - I opted to close my tab assuming this was some type of a behind the scenes tip battle - not my problem as a paying customer but attempting to preserve my good time with family and friends. Ownership needs to address customer experience with the bartender and wait staff - don't "F" up my experience because your shift change processes and staffing squabbles. I have some recommendations how this could be handled so much better - reach out I will give you the leadership advice at a very affordable price - regardless I am not a 'regular' - Andrew's attitude needs a major adjustment! Even though I am not a regular I have been to Delia's at least a dozen times over the past year and half - and as a paying customer deserve a better experience. Scoped this place out from Yelp reviews. The Happy Hour options are what brought me in. Really easy to find (just look for the CVS). Fairly small but intimate and comfy bar. Same can be said for the outside seating and inside dining options. Wouldn't recommend for big parties but perfect for 2-4 people. Apparently I was not the only one there for the Happy Hour. Happy Hour is from 5-7, and they offer all their draft beers for $5 plus specialty cocktails for around $7. There is also a Happy Hour menu. I did the blood orange Hefeweizen (amazing, get it!) and a Kolsch (which was also good). The Maxwell flatbread and truffle fries were spot on and just enough to fill me up. I realized I was an idiot for paying $12 for microwaved flatbread pizza at my hotel. I liked the atmosphere here, as well. I would certainly come back if my stay wasn't so short. I ordered the Smokey Pep pizza, no red onions, a few days ago. First time visit and I ordered the pizza to go. The order was ready when I arrived, but it wasn't overly warm, it wasn't cold, just not hot, which wasn't a big deal. I am on the fence with the pizza. The night that I ate it, I found the sauce to be sweet. I added some crush red pepper which definitely helped offset the sweet taste. I found the toppings to be well dispersed with the sausage crumbles, cheese and the pepperoni. I ate some pizza the next morning and found the crust and the sauce to be even sweeter than the night before which was disappointing. Since I can't find a really good pizza in Alexandria, I might find myself going back here, but I really am on the fence about it. I had the $32 short rib risotto and pizza knuckles. The pizza knuckles were great. I buy them at least once a month. However, the short rib risotto was not good. The risotto was under cook. The beef short rib was over cooked making the meat hard to digest. I have had Delia's short rib before in another named dish. That time, the meat was cooked well and the meat was chewable and not dry. I think it is a hit or miss with Delia's short beef rib. I informed Delia's. They didn't care and did not back their cuisine failure. I recommend you do not take a chance with this expensive meal. Buy the steak instead. I really wish I had. read more

All the plates that I saw near me looked so good! Cons: My friend has the Braised Rib and she said it was too much sauce and it took away from the entree. My server told us that they were unable to make any "mocktails", which I find strange because majority of drinks can be made a Mocktail. Went for happy hour and I was not disappointed! The happy hour menu had lots of variety in food and drink- I went with the calamari and beef slider - it was the perfect combo! We were just there for our holiday dinner. The reason I'm writing this review right away is that I specifically asked for no bacon due to religious reasons for my Delia's burger. I reminded server twice that no bacon. Yet it was in it and I ate half of it, had some weird taste. Half I brought home and when I opened the burger there was this piece really stuck to the meat and its bacon. It's such a shame that restaurant take such requests so lightly and serve food with ingredients that can traumatize customer and make them feel horrible. For this reason I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Also entrees literally took 45 minutes where restaurant wasn't that busy to justify 45 minutes wait. read more

I have had the liberty of eating at Delia's twice, it sits conveniently in a shopping center right in front of an AMC, so of the two times my family has been here its was after a movie. The actual restaurant is clean and the staff is pretty nice. As far as the food its just isn't enough for me to make it an effort to come back, or to want to bring an out-of-town guest to show what NOVA has to offer. Out of all the dishes I have tried the Pizza was the best, but again it wasn't great it was just they best that they offer. The Tzatziki with the pita bread is really good I'll give them that but that isn't something they should hang their hat on. When I had the Chicken Souvlaki Entree the chicken was dry and the only thing that saved it was that sauce that came with the meal. The worst thing he bar far is the Calamari, very rubbery/chewy and fried way too hard. You can tell it was frozen calamari instead of fresh breaded calamari which was a huge let down. Stay away from that dish. In all if you are really looking for a bite to eat and coming from a long movie, stopping here for a pizza and some tzatziki should be as far as you go. I personally don't know if I will purposely come back and explore more menu items. I've tried six and nothing has really made me come back. read more

We have dined here several times and the food is always very fresh. Today I tried the Cacio e Pepe ravioli. It was amazing!
