Little place just opened in Marrero in a little strip mall. I passed several times before walking down. Ordered a couple of steak tacos to go, but it's a clean, nice place with more on the menu and desserts and sweets stuff... lot of dessert stuff. If you've got a sweet tooth, check it out. THE FOOD: My tacos were very good. Flavorful and decent sized. The salsas were very good also. There is a spicy one and a sweet one. I preferred the pika.

From the minute we walked in we felt so welcome. Everyone was friendly and our server, Daniela, was awesome! She called us "baby" and I'm here for all of that! The restaurant is colorful and happy inside which was so nice and comfortable. Our coffee cups were never empty. Food was delicious! I had the fried catfish with eggs and grits and my fiancé had the fried crawfish breakfast. Biscuits were wonderful and the Aebelskivers (pancake fried dough) they have were incredible!! Highly recommended! Yes we ordered too much food and we were not mad about it! We left so happy we made it to Toast for breakfast and absolutely agree with my friend that said it's a must when you are in the area!

Awesome little homey restaurant with very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect brunch spot for the morning and early afternoon. I ordered black coffee and the ratatouille omelette with a side of bacon. It was delicious. Next time i am gonna try the steak and eggs on their entrees menu. Everything was reasonably priced. Dining room was well lit and clean. Unisex bathroom with changing table for the little ones was also clean! Cant wait to come back!

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!

Dough Nguyener's Bakery -- 4…read more Dough Nguyener's really introduced me and my son to the flavors of ube and pandan... and I still can't believe I went my whole life without them. Like where have I been?! We are forever grateful for that alone. As someone who already loves Vietnamese culture through food here in New Orleans, this place just hits. Vietnamese coffee is a staple for me--not even for energy, but for the flavor. If you know, you know... that bold, strong, chicory-meets-condensed-milk moment. It's rich, it's cultural, it's intentional. And when you start adding things like pandan cold foam? Simple, but it speaks volumes about the influence and beauty of the Vietnamese community here. I respect it, deeply. Now let's talk about that Croffle... a croissant-waffle situation. I went with the Chantilly and berries because... you already know, I'm gonna choose what feels like home every time. The cream was smooth, the fruit was fresh, everything worked. My only thing--personally--it was a little heavy on the almonds for me. Still good, just my preference. We also had The American--eggs, bacon, French ham, hand-cut fries, garlic aioli, and a baguette. I shared it with my son and made my own little sandwich moment with it. Used the aioli as a base, layered the eggs, bacon, and ham... and I feel like that's exactly what it was meant for. Solid, simple, and filling. I've tried a few other things too like the bánh mì and donuts. The bánh mì was good, donuts were okay... not my go-to for that. But that frozen cocktail? Listen... it was TOO good. Took it to a festival with me and between that drink and that sun, I slept the whole festival away lol. Overall, I'll definitely be back. I still want to try more from the kitchen--especially that chicken everybody keeps talking about. This is a great spot for early weekend brunch, late evening studying, or weekday coffee runs. Not too small, not too big. Beautiful lighting. A really good addition to Gretna.

This place has to be the most inconsistent breakfast place around. Some days you get great service…read moreand the food comes out faster than expected and its always pretty decent . NOT TODAY..... April 19 ( today ) was one of those days that leave you scrat hing your head in amazement. It was the wife and I and another couple a father and his kid. The place was empty. Everything started off fine I get my usual iced tea and coffee with a donut . After we got that is when everything went downhill faster than an Olympic skier. Our waitress was the short and wide woman with dark brown hair..She's been pretty decent in the past as she's waited on us before without any issues. Today wasn't one of those days. We had to get another waitress to take our order and she said she doesnt take orders she would have to " FIND " our waitress...We ordered and a few minutes later our food was placed on the expedite shelf where it stayed for exactly 7 minutes and 35 seconds. The cooks even shouted a second time for our waitress . We'll she thought playing around with the napkin dispensers was more important than taking care of her customers....When we finally got our food it was Stone Cold , I'm not one that will easily complain about the smallest detail but this was utterly ridiculous for only 2 couples in the place...I can see things might be skipped here and there in a Full House but Damn. We had to chase her down every time we needed something or use other waitresses to chase her down because they didn't want to serve us because we weren't their customers. After everything was said and done we got to-go boxes and I told the waitress how cold the food was for the extraordinary ammount of time it spent on the shelf and that I was just gonna take it home and heat it up... Did I get a Sorry? ..NOPE.....Did I get anything comped ( Which I wouldn't expect or accept )...NOPE..... I'm not one of those people that complain just for the sake of complaining... Our waitress was on another planet today , her body was in the restaurant but her brain was somewhere else... Needless to say we paid for our COLD meal and the Tip I gave her reflected our service this morning ..." Non- Existent " Maybe someone higher up on the ladder will see this and have a meeting with the front employees and refresh their memories that the people sitting at the tables are customers too. Make someone that just walked in for a dozen to go can wait a few mins.....The cooks were on point and hollered out our order was ready 2 times to no avail.... Hit & Miss.... Hit & Miss.
