I've gone here on two different occasions and my honest review is overall nothing but positive. The food, depending on what you get, will be very rich in flavor. For example, the chicken and waffles I got on my first visit was very yummy and savory but the waffle i got on my second visit, although it was very soft and fluffy, the taste was mostly carried out by the add ons. But still, two very tasty dishes. The service was pretty good on both occasions, my only suggestion would be to try and have one step ahead of a full house. The ambience of this place is absolutely incredible. I have not been in many places located within Modesto that have made me feel so chic haha. I especially love the live music they have, it adds so much to the fancy Parisian look this place seems to be going for. Wow, wow, wow. We are way late in discovering this downtown Modesto gem! It's such an apt name. Came for breakfast this morning and we are soon to be regulars. Delicioso was such a serendipitous find! My friend and I were looking for a quick late breakfast/brunch, I guess basically brunch, on a very rainy day. We both had trouble finding parking right by the restaurant, but, fortunately, there was plenty of street parking. We were greeted very warmly by the host and sat down. We received waters and our coffees pretty quickly after ordering. I ordered the California eggs Benedict with house style potatoes and asked for pico de gallo cause I love pico de gallo, and my friend ordered the chila quiles. My friend loved her chilaquiles (I didn't try it because I don't eat meat). My eggs Benedict were phenomenal: there was a very interesting flavor profile with an unexpected freshness added by the slice of tomato and my addition of pico de Gallo. The eggs Benedict came with avocado, a slice of tomato, and home made hollandaise (I'm quarter Dutch so I have some self assigned authority on this, and boy, was that hollandaise sauce yum!). The house style potatoes were bomb. We ended our, ok fine, brunch with a single waffle with strawberries, bananas, and whipped cream and Dulce de leche on the side. Phenomenal: waffle was nice and crispy and the Dulce de leche was flavorful without being cloying (granted I only had a small amount of it with every bite). Over priced is an understatement and to top it off I literally killed a cockroach next to my table on the floor and the waitress said this time of year they get them a lot in the morning. If you look next to the door at this very moment there is a huge dead fly in another big cockroach laying inside the door to the restaurant. I have seen their restaurant pop up on Door Dash but wanted to try them for a while. I was looking for somewhere open fairly early this morning to get breakfast with my mom and we decided to stop in. The restaurant is small but clean with a lot of options on the menu. Parking is easy which is great since this can be a hassle downtown sometimes. I started with a caramel latte which was very good - not too sweet with perfect foam and caramel flavor. My mom had the mocha which was good as well. For breakfast we were torn between a few options and decided to share. I ordered the Latin Eggs Benedict which had chorizo and perfectly poached eggs. My mom ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was cooked well - it was very juicy and tasted good. The waffles were fluffy and well-cooked too. We both had country potatoes on the side which were also delicious. We enjoy going to new places in Modesto. We found Delicioso on yelp and stopped by. For a landmark it was right next to the old Dons moblie glass. We went in and it was super clean and great vibe. We sat inside but they have outdoor seating also. Nice simple menu and it all sounded great. We ordered eggs Benedict and a strawberry crepe. Two cups of good coffee. From 1 to 10, 9+ overall. I've been here twice for breakfast. A friend took me there and I enjoyed it so much I brought my husband back. We were greeted by Maria, who was great. I had a skillet that came sizzling and popping. It developed a yummy crust on the bottom. My husband had a belgian waffle that was really good. The food was definitely worth the price. It may be my new go-to. We want to try dinner. Perfectly poached eggs topped with a light hollandaise... recently tried the Pancake Benedict (new to the menu) and it was so good with bacon, avocado and fresh spinach on little pancakes. The little pancakes add a nice texture; but don't overwhelm so the other ingredients really get to shine. The Don Chilaquiles are delicious and huge. Great local restaurant. The service was impeccable, and the food was clearly made in house. We happened upon this place and are glad we did. They really made an effort to accommodate our requests for items on the side, making sure our dining experience was optimal. We tried the chicken and waffles and wow - light, fluffy waffles and chicken that was juicy but not too heavy. We asked for the sriracha honey on the side, which they did, but still ended up loving it - not too hot. The bacon omelette was tasty, and the orange butter just added to the flavor profile. That's something I'll have to add to my home menu. The steak and eggs is not your typical diner dish, but more like a steakhouse dish. What an amazing discovery. (Warning: Long Review) Over the past year, we have seen the expansion of restaurants in the Modesto area slow to a crawl because of COVID. It is exciting to see that beginning to change. The few that are newly opened are have for the most part put forward a respectable offering. Although they opened this location a little bit before COVID, they have managed to keep things together through the one of the most trying times for restaurateurs in modern history. Of the new offerings over the past year and a half, not very many have matched the passion for food we have found here at "Delicioso". We weren't sure what to think as we decided to try this place for the first time this Saturday evening for dinner. The reviews on "Modesto to Go" on Facebook were very positive, as well as the Yelp and Google ratings I had read. We arrived right at opening (5PM) and discovered that the owner/chef had a catering event this evening and would not be in the restaurant. This is a great test, as this is when many places will fall short (while the boss is away). We were seated in the quaint dining room, and immediately attended. We asked for suggestions and placed and orders for our appetizers. I ordered the Siracha Wings and the wife ordered Caprice Salad. The wings were cooked to perfection, and the glaze was amazing. The Caprice salad was a home run. This was made using fresh and delicious heirloom tomatoes. Most other restaurants in Modesto will not got the extra mile to source heirloom tomatoes for their caprice. This says a great deal about how seriously they take their food here. For Entree's, we My wife ordered the Chicken and Bacon Pasta and I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger. I simply love it when I am asked "how would you like your burger cooked?" This means they are using fresh beef, and actually making the patties on site. My burger was cooked to perfection (nice and pink in the middle) and very well-seasoned. The lettuce (which is often an afterthought) was a perfect fresh green Romaine topped with another fresh heirloom tomato slice. My wife's pasta would rival any restaurant in Modesto (and we have eaten in just about all of them). It's the little things... The chicken in the pasta had been browned before putting the dish together. So few restaurants go through this extra trouble, but it enhances the end product tenfold. The cream sauce was nice and thick made with real cream (instead of half & half like many restaurants). The pasta itself was perfect al dente. Literally nothing on the plate could have been made any better. The dish was delicious, and a perfect score. We topped it all off by sharing the Banana and strawberry crepe. This was also 100% made from scratch. The desert was a perfect finish to a perfect meal, and even the ice-cream was top-shelf. Very well done all the way around. The most impressive part... Remember earlier, this hit every mark for excellence, and the owner wasn't even here this day. This shows that the passion and commitment to great food doesn't end with the Chef. It extends to the entire staff. I'm not your typical "foodie" who drives around to try different restaurants just so I can fulfill a lifelong passion of being a self-proclaimed food critic. My passion runs much deeper than that. You see, I am a "foodie" who also cooks. When I cook, I like it to put together Restaurant quality meals which equal what I have experienced in my travels throughout the United States and abroad. I have had this passion for many years, and it has driven me to grow a garden each year to produce the absolute best of the best when it comes to produce or hard to source gourmet items, that we can't get in our local grocery. We typically grow 9-12 tomato varieties each year, with the primary goal of making the absolute best Caprice Salad. We order Balsamic from Italy that has been aged over 12-years, and cost $50 a bottle. I've even gone so far as making my own Mozzarella for the same purpose. We grow from Charantais melons from France, and Rosa Bianca Eggplants from Italy. We even grow 10-12 Pepper varieties to make our own Turkish Paprika, Smoked Paprika, Cayenne Pepper, Fermented Pepper sauce, and Pepperoncini's. I make my own Ham, Tasso Ham, Sausage (over 20 varieties), Corned Beef, and Pastrami (a 9-day process). Next year I will begin making cured meats (Copa, Soprasata, Salami, Prosciutto). I'm even working towards raising Brest (a region in France) Chickens and Mangalitsa hogs to insure some of the best proteins to work with. I do all this to because I have a deep passion for food made well, and the craftsmanship it takes to excel beyond your peers and create truly amazing food. These guys are the real deal. Found this place on yelp. Decided to give it a try. Great customer service and very friendly staff. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg. let me tell you! It was delicious! Usually I can't finish a burger but this time I left nothing on the plate. My girlfriend also loved it. We got a Nutella crepe for dessert. Just as delicious as it sounded. Okay, so I'm going to start off by saying we grub hub or order for lunch. But We work down town not even 2 min away from this restaurant. Thinking the food would be fresh. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my bread was soggy, my lettuce was cooked and brown, the avocado..... nooo it was brown.. the chicken tasted funky as-well. Fries where soggy !!! My co worker ordered fish and chips and it was all soggy fish and fries ... she was not content! My boss went all out and ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with steak and shrimp ... she said the shrimp had a weird taste, the steak was nasty .... the noodles where okay ..... I'm not sure who's to blame, the restaurant or the grub hub? Both..... I recommend new to go boxes to keep food fresh so it won't steam and cook the vegetables, I recommend to contact grub hub and make sure they are delivering YOUR food on time. I've seen great reviews on this place and I'm sadden I didn't have the same experience.
