Wow wow wow! This is the coffee shop to go to. It is not only the best cafe in Harlem but I would say in Manhattan. What a great atmosphere with amazing drinks, food, and staff. They roast their beans on site, not common in NYC. Will be coming back here very often. They have work space, outlets, WiFi, and are affordable. read more

Hi It was my first time in this beautiful coffee shop. I decided to take my husband and kids there for the experience. After a few minute I noticed a man in a red shirt screaming at one of the employees that was working (also very kind). I came for a good experience with my Family but ended up not liking the service after the incident. Food was great but this will be my last time. read more

Stumbled upon this amazing place when my previous go-to coffee shop closed the doors of it's East Harlem location recently (Dear Mama). So far, so good! I've only been once but couldn't have had a better experience. Delicious coffee! roasted right on the premise. I was there right as they were opening, so couldn't wait around to try any of the baked goods that were about to come out from the kitchen but I'll certain be back to do just that. I hung around for a few minutes though chatting about music with Jagger (or is it Jaggar?), the very friendly barista. I'm excited to visit here frequently for my morning coffee. Final note: The space is large with high ceilings and ample seating. It would be a great venue for movies, sports, and music events, so hopefully that's in the cards for Dell'Aria in the near future. An Italian roaster and cafe in East Harlem!? When I heard about this place, I made it point to check it out as I embark on my journey to discovering all the *good* and the *bad* and everything in between regarding coffee shops. Any who - to the review! Perfect space to work remote from. You've got your choice of a table with a chair, a coffee table with a couch (a staple I suppose in coffee shops for a cozy feel) and bench seating against the wall. Plenty of tables to choose from. Just note to arrive early because seating will fill fast. Don't worry, there are outlets available too to charge your devices. There is also free wifi, password is at the front. Customer service is excellent, enough said. Coffee and food is decently priced and they will serve it and bring it to you in a cup and a plate if you are dining in. Coffee is pretty good, I ordered a latte and it hit the spot. Note they do not have drip coffee, only cold brew so be prepared to be caffeinated! I also ordered the strawberry creme croissant and mushroom quiche both of which were good, not fantastic. I really like this place for the space. It has a very upscale feel it. Think of an upscale luxurious garage. I promise you it looks better than what you're picturing. The space is pretty huge though only a portion of it is open to the public for seating and the back is basically where they roast their beans and all that beautiful magical Stuff. I absolutely love this place, and routinely take the thirty minute walk from my apartment just to frequent it! The café itself is beautiful, ample seating space, a very comfortable couch, and lots of natural light. I haven't ever had a single bad thing here, from the delicious lattes and espresso, to their phenomenal baked goods, and even their Parmesan truffle fries. There are so many lovely little touches-- the last time we were here, they gave us a biscuit for our dog (so now he drags us here constantly too); they serve drinks in real glassware, etc etc. And everyone who works here is just lovely-- so friendly and welcoming, and one of the guys actually remembers exactly how I like my drink and makes it perfectly each time. I am so glad to have found this wonderful place and plan to be back every weekend! read more

Knocking off one star because after going here for a while I've noticed that there are crumbs all over the place, even early in the morning when the cafe had just opened. Went there because of the NY Times review. When you enter, it's this luscious dark blue interior that's inviting but.. . There is this one poor chap at the register. Someone ordered an espresso drink. He didn't even acknowledge me as I patiently waited. In his defense, he seemed a bit overwhelmed. Water started shooting out from the machine and onto the floor. I felt bad for the poor guy. As I waited I looked around and there are no prices on any of the pastries. No descriptions as to what they even are. A gentleman came from the back who had a Dell'Aria T-shirt on and came to the aid of the overwhelmed worker. He didn't acknowledge me either. It was bizarre. Finally, after the water was mopped up and the 2nd guy left, and the original customer got their drink, the poor guy was ready to ask me what I wanted. I ordered a danish and left. I didn't like that neither worker even said, "I'll be with you in one minute." or "Good morning". Not even a smile or a nod that says "I see you." Anyway, when I got home I started to eat my almond danish and it was hard like it had been sitting there for a couple of days. I ended up throwing it away. I want to support my neighborhood spot and really looked forward to hanging out somewhere close where I can work on my laptop but I don't like the energy of this place. Still I wish it much success. Now this is some seriously delicious coffee. I'm usually a tea drinker but the roast from Dell'Aria is so smooth and luxurious I always switch teams when I stop by. The coffee makes great gifts for friends and family. Having this spot in the neighborhood makes it perfect for a "work from home" afternoon or a quick catch-up with friends. The coffee is amazing I get the cold brew and ground coffee for home. The location is beautiful and right next door if I need a wfh get a way. I had espresso there and it is 10/10 -ex barista and coffee master rating. The vegan croissant I had wasn't great and I don't remember the gelato flavor not memorable. But I will likely try others since I live nearby and it is a beautiful place to hang out. Can't wait to see the garage door open up! read more

This place is absolutely brilliant. They've done a magnificent job of combining a modern, chic Brewery type feel with a very focused and comfortable niche for people to read and get it work done on or engage in quiet conversation. For such a large space, it really feels quite intimate and warm. Most importantly, the coffee is delicious. I live about 20 blocks away, but well worth the short little trip.
