We came here for lunch this past Wednesday; we were refered to this place by The Olive Press. Wow, was it excellent. The service is friendly & attentive & I love eating out in the piatsa they have with the Italian music going. The bread is fresh & some of the best I have had; perfect with a little bolsomic vinigre. The ravioli Lucesi is the best with a wonderful ground, beef, chicken, & veal filling in aldentae pasta with mushrooms in a cream & wine sauce. For dessert, the torta de chocolata is sublime with amareto, almonds, & a wonderful Italian cookie. My mother & sister in law loved their polenta & purshuto & melon. Round it off with a Montebrea or some wine or tea & you will not be disappointed. If you are looking for delicious Italian food, look no further than Della Santina! They are located just a block off the downtown square in Sonoma. While their menu isn't expansive, they have options for everyone as well as a menu with daily specials.  I ordered the Linguine Al Pesto and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. They grated fresh parmesan cheese and cracked pepper over the pasta at the table. The pasta and sauce tasted very fresh. They also provide bread for the table as well as olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  At the end of our visit, they brought out a complimentary taste of sparkling, which was so nice!  They also have a beautiful patio seating, which is tented during the wintertime. This restaurant is Oh so cute!! The outdoor patio is so romantic and beautiful! We came for a bachelorette party and We loved the ambience! We ordered an amazing bottle of wine to start with called Conundrum! They brought amazing bread with oil and vinegar! It was soo good we finished it all. Excellent food and ambiance! Even though 95° 5pm on Sunday, dining in the courtyard was great! The misters were perfection! Then antipasto plate with fruit and prosciutto was so refreshing. The main course I had the pesto, gnocchi, homemade, and he had the Bolognese lasagna, also homemade and Fantastico! We told the waiter it was our 25th anniversary and although he was excited for us, that was the end of the conversation! Lol Usually when you tell a Restaurant is your significant anniversary they treat you to a slice of dessert or something. That would've made the place one of our favorites! Didn't even get the chance to eat there. We walked in and requested a table for 5 people around 4pm, didn't seem too busy. The employee came up and said "we squeezed you in, you better be grateful" i definitely taught him a lesson after. My wife and I were in town for a little getaway and we saw this cute little Trattoria so we had to stop in. We had the Tortellini and vanillin florentine. We also ordered the Barrata. All of which left us wishing this Trattoria was located much closer to where we live. The waiter was very attentive and made us feel like we were special guests. Reservations highly recommended! They have outdoor dining both in front of the restaurant and in the back patio. We were seated in the back patio which was covered with a clear tent. It was no doubt busy and the tables were closer together than expected given COVID. Okay, no meat Fridays is hard to do when eating out at a restaurant, but their mussel pasta was a Godsend! We each got our own dish and finished the plate clean! The appetizer was also refreshing and not too heavy. Perfect for a starter. The lemon tart wasn't too tart and subtly sweet. It was the ultimate way to end my meal. Highly recommend this restaurant whenever you're in the area. The staff are super friendly and personable. Very cute atmosphere, there's a wine bar connected to and an outdoor patio area with heaters and lighting above. We made reservations to the restaurant part which I would recommend because it seems like a popular place. The inside is very aesthetically pleasing with the flowers surrounding the courtyard area. Service was a bit slow and our waiter forgot to bring some of our drinks we ordered but the food itself was to die for. The bread was yummy and you have olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip it in. We came here to celebrate a birthday. The ambiance is super cute and nice. Love their outdoor seating. We ordered the food and we're given bread to munch on. We ordered an array of things. I had the turkey with herbs that came with potatoes and vegetables. It was very under seasoned and a bit bland. We also tried the papardelle with wild boar and the rotisserie chicken. The chicken was flavorful (a little dry) and the wild board too lacked strong flavor. Although the service was great, I was disappointed with the flavor of the dishes. It could do with more seasoning and flavor. I wanted to love it more but felt it could have been marinated longer. Overall we had a nice time! read more

Lovely Italian restaurant just off the square. Had dinner on the back patio which was covered and heated so not too cold in winter. Had the pappardelle wild boar ragu which was delicious and hearty. This place was so good! I went up to sonoma for a wedding and came a day early to explore the area and have wine and food. My friend loves gnocchi so we had dinner here. Everything was so good! The gnocchi melted in your mouth and the flavor for everything was on point. I thought this place was indoor but it was outdoors. We went on a super hot day and man it was super bad outside. In short: Delicious Italian food on a beautiful brightly lit, foresty patio! This was a cute restaurant in a cute neighborhood with many incredible cafes and boutiques. Also, very friendly servers! Food: They started by giving us freshly baked bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar - the bread was so soft, warm, and easy to chew. They didn't have a lot of originally vegetarian items (as is the case with most Italian restaurants) but they were happy to make anything vegetarian. We had the vegetarian Linguine al Pesto (House-made spinach pasta finished with fresh basil, garlic, and olive oil) which was delicious! We asked for it to be made vegan (without butter/cream) and the poor server asked us many times if we are sure about it also note that portion sizes are pretty big, both for food and wine! They also have a great selection of wines and allow tasting of the wine before you commit to a glass. Their tiramisu was wonderful - the only hiccup for me was the little jammy cherry they added to the tiramisu which I wasn't a fan of but the cherry soon disappeared - so I'm sure someone on the table was a fan! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! This place was truly one of the best dinners I've ever had. EVER. If you're in Sonoma, you MUST go here! We went right around 5 when it opened for dinner and were seated right away. The atmosphere is great and it is run very well. I ordered the Gnocchi and it was everything I thought and more! The sauce was amazing and it just melted in your mouth. My mom tried the Tortellini alla Panna and that dish blew me away. I thought the gnocchi was great but this tortellini dish was something special. Sauce, meat inside, everything was perfect. Portions were actually quite impressive and price was reasonable, around $20 for a pasta meal. To top it off, we ordered Gelato and the Rum cake for dessert (both great), and the manager was so kind he even threw in the dessert special of the day (strawberry shortcake) for free! Overall, a very fun and good experience in Sonoma--this is a solid 3.5 star that I'm rounding down because my special dish just wasn't great. Came here this weekend with my boyfriend, his brother and his girlfriend. We ordered some wine, caesar salads and a host of dishes. Everyone really loved their dishes except me, unfortunately the duck ragu special was not great at all. It was very very dry and lacking in flavor. However, the caesar salad was still really good, and my boyfriends rigatoni/penne was delish as well. Our server, Bennie, was also so much fun! Pappardelle Cinghiale with wild boar ragu was nutty and had ground meat. Penne Contadina had a tomato sauce and lots of flavorful meatballs. This was after visiting 3 wineries, but we found everything delicious, especially the bread. Oh the bread, was SO GOOD. With the thick, sweet balsamic vinegar, fragrant extra virgin olive oil, and a dash of finely ground white pepper + salt it was too good. We bought 3 bottles of balsamic vinegar to bring home ($20 each). We sat outside in tiny tables which was a bit tight but we were glad we had a seat. Service was great. Long overdue review! We stopped by in October without a reservation and sat at the bar. I forgot who served us, but he chose the best wine. I ordered the parpadelle all'anatra and I forgot what my fiancé ordered, but I recall it being very tasty (and we just came back from Italy months prior!). What really stuck out to me was the olive oil and vinegar that I had to go out and buy it the next morning! It was delicious and I wish I lived closer or bought more because my family loved it. The person who answered the phone could not accommodate us at our preferred time, and when I asked a question about it, he hung up on me. Wow! This has to be the best pasta I have ever had. Ever. My sister, who has traveled to Italy, said it was on the same level, if not better, then what she ate there. The pasta and bread (of which we clipped off two baskets in minutes) is made by hand and is delicious! It tasted so good, way above and beyond any pasta you'll find in the rest of Sonoma, Napa, etc. The staff were even better. The owner and staff were extremely polite, quick, and just above and beyond wonderful. We had some great conversation with the owner and even greater food. We ate outside, in the back. The area was beautiful and shaded. A cute little fountain and grape vines really set a nice atmosphere to start with, followed by the food blowing us away. If you decide not to eat here, you're missing out on something great. This place is a gem. Come with a large appetite, and make sure you leave room for dessert! Seriously. Unfortunately, the food and service was poor. We ordered gnocchi (recommended by the waiter) and a duck confit pasta. Both tasted equally bad, with the gnocchi extremely overcooked and pasty, the worse one between the two. Regarding the service, the waiter was rude. When I asked him politely to check if the cheeses are pasteurized as I'm pregnant, he responded, he's busy but will ask. When I gave him a feedback about the gnocchi being overcooked and not tasting like gnocchi at all, the waiter responded 'i didn't cook it' I was surprised by the responses both the times, especially when we were being extremely polite. Ended up paying for a meal that we didn't eat, and left feeling upset. I hope this is not how they treat all guests. read more
