My family loves Del's and it's by far our favorite pizza place in the area. There's live music most Fridays and the prices are really fair comparing to other local chains in the area. We used to LOVE Del's. My partner is from nyc and is very picky. But Del's could pass his pizza tastebuds. Unfortunately, the past few times the pizza was not like it used to be. Last night it was bad. Prompting me to leave this review. We got 2 medium pizzas. It took close to 50 minutes when they said 30. I know they were busy but that was ridiculous. Then I got home and my partner and I went to pick up a slice each and everything fell off the pizza. It was ridiculous. He didn't believe it came from Del's. He got a Hawaiian pizza and also said the ingredients tasted off. He is not one to complain or waste food. He disliked his pizza so much he threw it away and we ate the pizza I ordered (pepperoni, mushroom, artichoke, olive). Again all ingredients slid off each slice. It was a messy disaster if a pizza. Not a single employee wearing a mask, despite the county health order that food workers wear them. Incredibly irresponsible. As for the pizza, the crust was overdone and gritty because they burned the cornmeal on the pizza grill; sauce tasted handmade and with fresh tomatoes, but lacked seasoning; toppings slid off the dough because there wasn't much cheese; dough was crunchy, not chewy, and lacked flavor; toppings seemed fresh and not frozen, but didn't seem to have any kind of savory ingredients like garlic; and overall was kind of bland. Great place for old folks with mayo palates, but nothing special for anyone used to more variety. Stunned at the high ratings this place gets; seems massively overrated. Customer service was as bland as the pizza. Cashier seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else and made zero effort to greet customers as they came in the door. Long story short, you can't charge Mountain Mike prices if your service/pizza is barely beating out the food court at Sunrise Mall. read more

Sadly, this was the first and last time I'll choose Del's. I was bummed to write this as this place was raved about by my boyfriend and roommate. We ordered a large-half BBQ/half Hawaiian. The flavor was just okay and the crust was very difficult to chew through. It was last Friday and we picked it up around 9:30pm. I asked how long it was sitting for, it was only 5 minutes. Food and service here have gone way down since COVID. Recently ordered a pizza for pickup by phone. Cashier got my name wrong. Later, when I arrived, the cashier got upset that the name was not the same. Sloppy, long-haired worker (manager?) cutting pizzas went ballistic yelling and cursing at me (dropped multiple f-bombs). I didn't say a word. Just paid for my pizzas and left. Told me to never come back. I assure you I will not! Pizzas taste mediocre at best with hard stale -tasting crusts that are neither cracker-like or deep-dish (think typical frozen pizza crust). Red sauce just tastes like tomato. Del's - you inspired me to write a review tonight even though I am too full to type. With an average rating of 4.5 stars , I had to give this place a try to see how it compares to my all- time favorite pizzerias. Truth be told, I enjoyed this pizza more than any other place I have tried in the Sacramento area. We ordered a medium half cheese (for the wifey), and half pepperoni, sausage , and mushroom (for me). Here is what I love about this pizza: 1. The sauce used was not too heavy and was spread out evenly throughout. I hate it when pizza places get sloppy with their pizza sauce. 2. The toppings were fresh, flavorful , and stacked high. The sausage here is addicting , and the mushrooms were sliced thin -just the way I like them. 3. The pizza crust was perfect . I don't care for thin crust pizza because the pizza gets cold fast , and I don't care for thick crust pizza because the toppings to bread ratio is out of whack. The bottom of the pizza was a little crispy which held up nicely with all the cheese and toppings loaded on top. For pizza this good, the prices are reasonable. For a medium pizza , and a fountain drink -the total bill was a little over $ 15.00. I have paid more for pizza that I didn't care for ( Chicago Fire Pizza for example). My entire experience tonight was worth the drive from Folsom. The gentleman (Christian) who took my order over the phone was pleasant , and the girl at the counter was very friendly. On a side note, my son spilled the fountain drink in our car 3 minutes after we left the restaurant. I came back in to buy a new one , and the owner gave me a new drink for my son- at no charge. We have been goin going to Del's for about 5 years for a consistently good pizza. Not sure if they changed the crust or something, but we had our regular order of pepperoni pizza, was the best we have had had to date.. the crust was light, crispy and chewy. Pretty disappointing overall. Restaurant was pretty dirty and many tables were sticky and not wiped down. Gal at the register seemed to be stressed out and kept saying 'a few more minutes' when we ( along with others) kept inquiring about our order. Had a sharp object, maybe chicken bone or I said like olive pit, even though there were no olives and employee basically blow it off to the degree it was ridiculous. Young "person" gave me an account that he personally debones the chicken and there no way, must have been a piece of crust. I Send it back to kitchen, owner comes out and basically says don't come back as he stands there with a black eye. If I was rating just the taste and quality of the pizza I would give 5 stars. However, Customer Service is consistently lacking. Good luck with delivery. They often decide they just are not delivering that night (or even that month (Nov. & Dec.). Good luck with ordering and having a friend deliver for you. They will not accept payment over the phone. Good luck with delivery (if they happen to be delivering that night). They do not communicate delivery instructions to their drivers. They delivered my pizza to my non-Engish speaking neighbors and left (without payment) because they did not follow instructions to deliver upstairs. I had to obtain my pizza from a stranger's house :( Good luck with getting your pizza right. So often I've requested and paid for specific requests (re. extra mushrooms) and not received what I paid for (re. NO mushrooms). Bottom line is that Del's just doesn't measure up.
