The best Empanadas I have ever had. Including those in Argentina. This review isn't really fair as I ate there before they opened. We were there working on their floor and they fed us. I think I tried all they different types the have, I like the ones with meat best. If you have never had Empanadas, this is the place, I won't try to describe them, but Empanadas must be the national food of Argentina. I have spent time in Argentina and had many Empanadas, but DelSur does them better and bigger. I will deffently be bringing the family there to try their other items. read more

I initially went here for a Yelp Elite event last year and since then have been back multiple times. I live 30min away which is a pain of a drive BUT the empanadas are so worth it. My favorite is the spinach and the one with tomatoes and mozzarella. The interior is cute for a casual dinner/date night. Overall would highly recommend! read more

This is a fantastic addition to the Unmapped Brewery neighborhood. We tried thee for $10 which worked great as a snack with our beer. The decor is cute and it's a classy update over Gina Marie's. This amount works for me for lunch or dinner but hungry boys might want a larger order. There is lots of filling making this a high quality empanada. We got chorizo, spinach and beef and ranked them in that order although all were great and I'd try each again. I did notice reheating instructions on the card in our take away box and can see keeping these on hand in the freezer as a quick solution for appetizers or dinner. Try it! read more

The staff is welcoming and the food is great! For empanada fillings, we recommend the Tucamana, Sweet beef, ham & cheese and sweet corn. When we order, we usually get a dozen empanadas to go and another dozen frozen for quick meals at home during the week. We had the beef, chorizo and sweet corn empanadas with the chimichurri and seasoned sour cream dipping sauces. We loved all of them but I really loved the chorizo with the sour cream. We also had the steak lomito sandwich which was also very good. The quality of meat is what really stands out at this place. We got our food to go, were offered plates, napkins and silverware and went and had our lunch with some beer at Unmapped Brewery next door. I grew up in South Florida where you can find a solid empanada anywhere. Having recently lived in California I got to experienced non traditional empanadas. Moving to Minneapolis I figured my love of this Argentinian pastry was over. Well I decided to give this spot a try and I am gobsmacked. We ordered two beef, 1 ham and chesse, 2 chorizo and a caprese. Every single empanada was better then the rest. The chesse and ham one was gooey and had the perfect amount of chesse. The beef one was very well seasoned. They came with chimichurri sauce and a pink sauce that packed the perfect amount of kick. We also split the choripan sandwich that was straight forward but incredibly amazing. My only complaint is that their pastries are slightly expensive from what I'm used to. Regardless our weekend pastry parties are back on because of this place. Can't wait to go back. read more

The reviews and the rating are all spot on! Great food, nice atmosphere and very friendly people working there across the board. We went around 5pm and it was relatively empty (which worked out great for us! Lol) but by 5:30 there was a line out of the restaurant waiting to get in and have some of those Amazing empanadas! We ordered 12 (we were hungry) and had 4 each of the mushroom, beef and macedo (not sure of spelling but it's new apparently). We thought we'd need a takeaway box but boy were we wrong! Wiped the tray clean and although we can't breathe now, it was worth it! And to wrap things up we bought another 12 to take with us (we live out of town) :-) In short, you won't go wrong here. My friends who have traveled to Argentina complain that these empanadas are vastly different than the ones they sampled while traveling. Okay, I will give them that. These are machine produced and not hand-made. However, there is regular consistency in the production, and the unique flavors are amazing. What a great find!! We drove 40 minutes last night for "authentic" Argentinian empanadas and were not disappointed!! I have been blessed being able to work in Latin America the past 6 years and have traveled frequently to Buenos Aires and have fallen in love with the local empanadas, especially the sweet corn and caprese flavors. Being married to a family of Argentine's, the bar is set rather high for empanadas and chimichurri. I didn't expect anything from a strip mall in the suburbs of Minnesota, of all places. But man, this place delivers. The empanadas are all different and unique, and we got a dozen of all types to try each of them. The crunchy outer shells are delicious and the fillings were piping hot. We tried the salad with hearts of palm and tomatoes, which was delicious. We also tried the Lomito Steak sandwich. Really unique and tasty. And we had to top it off with desserts of all kinds. The Tres Leches cake was my favorite. Perfectly moist and flavorful. Ambiance is casual and the owner was very welcoming and cared about his customers. Delsur is a great little spot to grab some legit empanadas. We have done take out a few times and the food is solid - works great as everyone can get what they want for fillings and have as much range as they want. Kids love the basics (ham and cheese or caprese) - the star of the ones we have enjoyed Is the mushroom. Delicious savory goodness, especially with a little chimichurri or the creamy dipping sauce if you prefer. Either way, it is the one item that always makes our order. The arugula salad is the other item that makes us feel better eating empanadas. Even though it has delicious chorizo to offset any pretense of a better for you choice. The family behind Delaur should be thanked for bringing some actual food diversity to the west side.
