    Del Sur Food truck

These were delicious, and probably my favorite from the Hopkins food truck festival. We sampled these empanadas: mushroom, sweet beef, spinach, and chorizo. The mushroom and sweet beef were my favorites. I see that their store sells these frozen, and I plan to stop in and get some for eating at home. The crust was flaky, and the fillings were ample and memorable. I loved the chimichimi sauce!

The empanadas are always delicious! As a vegetarian, my favorite is the Sweet Corn and Mushroom -- it's full of flavor. I also love getting the grilled cheese with a fried egg; it's simple but really tasty. The tap beer is always cold and refreshing, which is a nice touch. I tried the desserts for the first time -- the Tres Leches and Flan -- and honestly, both were a bit lacking in flavor. They weren't bad, just nothing memorable. The alfajores cookies, on the other hand, were delicious, though $3.50 feels a little steep for the size. Overall a solid spot.

Take out order of Caprese and a Mushroom empanada. Each empanada has the Del Sur name and a flavor code in the pastry dough.

Steak Lomito + egg is a sandwich G.O.A.T. And that's no slight on the empanadas which we love. Thank you Nicolas and Diego.

Love this place! Such a perfect pick-me-up with good people and great flavor. Don't miss the sweet beef or sweet corn. I always love trying the special flavor.

This last week, I took a co-worker to DelSur, we both got Chorizo sandwich with potatoes, my co-worker said these potatoes are on point and this sandwich is great. It was the third time I got that Sammy, very simple, but great. We also got the Tres leches cake, my friend said it possibly the best cake he has had! That evening my wife was jealous, so I had to ordered a dozen empanadas, the grilled chicken sandwich, and Tres leches cake!

This place rocks, great empanadas and a very good selection. I like that you can buy them in bulk and take them home and freeze them. Great service and the owners are very nice and friendly. They also own Tonka Pizza (right next door) which is equally as good! Check them out! Cheers!

The service was fantastic! I was helped immediately and when I asked for a recommendation they had one for me. They recommend the Sweet Beef and the Sweet corn. Both were very tasty although a little cold. The outside of the empanadas look amazing although they were a little small for the price. This place is rated $ but it's at least a $$ location. I picked up so I don't haveich to say about the ambiance but it looked clean and we'll maintained. PS: Make sure you turn down the right street (Williston Rd), the drive in front of the restaurant is one way.

Dozen empanadas: ham and cheese, sweet corn, caprese, bbq chicken, sweet beef, beef, chorizo, spinach and cheese, pork belly, and mushroom.

I can't believe it took us this long to try this place. The service is amazing. The person that takes your order is as patient and welcoming as it gets. She will explain everything to you, give you recommendations, and make you feel welcomed. We couldn't decide on flavors so ended up ordering a dozen empanadas to try them all. Plenty of options for every taste. Don't sleep on some or the meat-free options... their caprese and spinach and cheese were our favorites, but they were all delicious. The ham and cheese packs SO much flavor (even though it looks so simple). The combination of cheeses really makes you want more of it! The place is ample and welcoming (we were told they expanded recently), and there's plenty of seating for everyone. Definitely an inviting place. We will be back soon to try their sandwiches! PS: they offer Tango lessons too, if you're feeling adventurous.

As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted by a smiling face who was eager to ensure we knew how to order. We tried all of the available empanadas and appreciated every single one. We've tried many Argentinian empanadas and I'm generally disappointed by Ham & Cheese. Let me tell you - this was one of my absolute favorites of the day. They include flavorful cheeses, giving an empanada worth savoring. Another I generally shy away from is Caprese because I'm not a chunky tomato gal. This Caprese was incredibly flavorful, melted in my mouth, and really shined. Things to note: the menu rotates, you can purchase frozen empanadas to cook at home, and they offer tango lessons. You know the place is great when those working care, as much as an owner would, about how you enjoy your food.

Although I have had empanadas before, I didn't care for them; what led me to try Del Sur will forever be a mystery but holy smokes I'm glad I did! I ordered a Spinach and a Corn empanada and both were bursting with flavor and gooey cheese. No salsa required! The crusts were flaky and thin, perfectly cooked and beautiful, unlike the thick empanadas I had elsewhere with a teaspoon of filling. Next I had the Del Sur Salad, chock full of goodness with spring greens, hearts of palm, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, and a lick-the plate-good chimichurri vinaigrette. Absolutely delicious. Writing this review has my mouth watering, so time to place another order. :-D ***Update! I ordered more empanadas and a grilled cheese with roasted baby potatoes! I had five empanadas and there was a chart showing what each one was by the letters embossed on the corner of each.

Super tasty empanadas. I usually do the 3 for $10 and choose a Sweet Corn, a BBQ Chicken, and a Chorizo.

We ordered the Porteño (meat pizza) and the Peras (vegetarian) since our son is vegetarian, and both were excellent. Even the leftovers held up wonderfully--reheated in an air fryer, they tasted fantastic. We also tried the churro donuts. On their own they were okay, but with the sauce, they were really good. The margherita pizza itself was very tasty, and the cheese-covered crust definitely makes for a striking presentation. That said, the shredded cheese on the crust was a bit overwhelming and took away from actually enjoying the crust itself. Our biggest issue was honestly the customer service and overall flow of the restaurant. As first-time visitors, it was very unclear whether we were supposed to seat ourselves or order at the counter, and we didn't receive much direction when we asked. Everything is very self-serve, including grabbing your own plates and water, which is totally fine once you know the process, but better communication would really improve the experience. Overall, we enjoyed the pizza and appreciated the creative style, though vegetarian options were somewhat limited. We'd likely return and just know what to expect next time.

On both occasions the food was outstanding. We were treated by a combination of fresh ingredients, a chefs eye towards delicious flavor profiles, great execution, and fair prices. Certainly keen to come back. I'd recommend the ceviche for an appetizer and if you're feeling spicy ask for the house hot sauce. It's a roasted habanero and it's awesome. For lunch I had the shrimp tacos and they were great also. I feel like I'm gushing here, but the rack of lamb and scallops were both also amazing dinner entrees as well. Owned and operated by three brothers, this family-owned restaurant serves incredible Ecuadorian and Mexican-inspired dishes. If you visit, you'll most likely be greeted and served by one of the owners, who treat you like family--wholesome and genuinely high-quality hospitality without doing too much. The service provided and the love poured into the food are comparable to none. I've frequented this restaurant several times, throughout several years, and I've never had a bad experience or a bad meal. Some of my favorite dishes here include: - Empanadas de Carne or Vegetariana: Beef or vegetable empanadas. These empanadas are pan-fried corn dough, stuffed with your choice of tender, juicy, perfectly cooked braised beef or fresh vegetables. The empanadas are served on a bed of roasted tomato salsa and crema casera. The crispiness and warmth of the empanadas, combined with the tanginess of the sauces, make this dish my absolute favorite. If you're undecided in the appetizer section, this would be the one thing I would absolutely make sure you order. - The guacamole is made with fresh avocado, tomato, onion, cilantro, roasted tomato, salsa, and served with crispy corn chips. It is one of their top-selling items as it is made fresh to order, and absolutely delicious as such. - The shrimp ceviche is another favorite! Made with a blend of tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and citrus juice, this ceviche is both juicy and packed with tons of flavor. It's the perfect light and refreshing appetizer. - The Tostones and fried yucca, each crispy and crunchy, are also excellent options for sharing or nibbling solo before your main dish. - The Carne Asada is one of my go-to lunches when I visit. Overnight, marinated steak is grilled to perfection and served with achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice, black bean purée, French fries, and a small house salad. It's good comfort food cooked with love and an incredible amount of - The Lomo saltado dish is sautéed beef tips that are very tender, rich, and flavorful. The combination with the red onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes is sensational. Paired with an achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice that waters your mouth, as well as a side house salad served with a tangy lime vinaigrette that will blow you away. - The Mexican Tres leches is my absolute favorite version! I've tried several, not all, across the Twin Cities, and this is always easily my favorite. A homemade cake soaked with a blend of three milks, whipped cream, caramel chocolate, and topped with crispy coconut flakes. This dessert is decadent as it is delicious. In addition to these dishes, Cahill Bistro offers happy hour Sunday-Thursday from 3:00-5:30pm with specials on appetizers and drinks. They also have daily soup specials and brunch on Saturdays. Cahill Bistro has consistently won multiple awards for best Latin American food in the Twin Cities, and for me, there is no debate about that. Cahill Bistro is my #1!
