The staff (and even maybe owner who is there frequently) are pretty unwelcoming and unfriendly. Each time I go I feel like they couldn't care less about their customers. It is a very small place in a small strip mall. They don't really smile or say hello when you go up to their counter. I'm not sure but they may just be heating up pre-made pieces when ordered. I once ordered ahead for pickup and selected a time for the pickup. When I arrived for my food at the correct time I was told matter-of-factly it would be at least 20 minute as if it was no big deal. That was the final straw. I won't be going back. Other than that, the empanadas are tasty, but small and not very filling. Need at least 2 for even a small eater. I had such great vegetarian choices, so impressive. the crust was so good, flaky, crispy and the fillings were so flavorful. Delsur Empanadas delivers the best empanadas I have ever had in my life. Me and my wife had the pleasure of coming here for an Yelp Elite Event and we were blown away by the location and the food. To start, the story of Delsur Empanadas is a great story about the American Dream. The owners are wonderful people that started out selling their food from a food truck and made it into a brick and mortar store. The owners are from Argentina and I'm so glad they brought their food all the way to Minnesota. To continue, we really liked the store layout. It has a nice long kitchen/bar area right down one side of the restaurant and seating on the other side. It kind of has a modern New York style to it and it was very welcoming. We sat in the back near a cute wall with lights and comfy chairs. The restaurant is great looking and the food tastes even better! These are the beat Empanadas I have ever had and they offer so many different types. There's an empanada for everyone and my two favorites were the Caprese and the Chorizo. We honestly didn't have one that we didn't like though. They also offer salads and sandwiches. We tried the steak sandwich and the steak was cooked very well and the sauce on the sandwich really brought out the flavor. After all the great empanadas and sandwiches make sure you save room for dessert! They offer a couple different kinds of sweet treats and they are all delectable. WOW! WOW! WOW! Killer empenadas! We tried the beef, sweet beef, BBQ chicken, mushrooms, & chorizo. All fantastic. The 2 sauces... spicy sour creme and chimichurri that come with them are very tasty. I was so excited to see another food truck turn into a cute brick and mortar. The women working was so kind and helpful when ordering. We tried six different empanada flavors. The reason I gave a lower score is because we didn't enjoy a couple flavors but some were very delicious. The Caprese empanada had wonderful flavor and was very cheesy. I was searching for EMPANADAS and I was very impressed. The food was delicious and they had such neat and different varieties, of EMPANADAS. And absolutely wonderful side order of potatoes. It was so delicious! And of course the EMPANADAS, I give it a 10 all the way very very good !!!! And the employees were so kind and so helpful as I've never been there before and they really took the time out to explain to me about ingredients and other food questions I had. And they even had an area where you could shop for goodies from other country, which, of course I took advantage of that! And I will definitely be back. This food truck is parked outside Unmapped Brewery in the Glen Lake area of Minnetonka. We came here today specifically for empanadas, with the added bonus of great beer. My party ordered a total of 13 empanadas for $42.03. Everyone loved theirs and would order again. We all loved the spicy sauce and the layer of baby carrots under. I got the spinach, beef and ham & cheese. While $4 for a single empanada seems a lot because they look small, I think three for $10 with the carrots is reasonable. The pastries are also puffed out, so the size is deceiving. Taste is very good. I will order again. Overall, the convenience of having a food truck with unique food come to our local neighborhood is cool. A 5. Taste and variety a 5. Come back value high. Moving from the Minneapolis to Minnetonka, I was happy to find this little gem in my neighborhood. They make it easy to order takeaway, especially if you want to pop over to the brewery next door. They also offer a nice ambiance for dine-in and the staff is friendly. I usually order several of the empanadas (favorites are sweet corn, mushroom and ham/cheese), DelSur salad and dessert - don't skip on the sauces! The food is authentic and delicious. Oh boy, this is my new favorite place. I had originally tried their empanadas at a local brewery - outstanding - as good as my grandmother used to make. I haven't tried all 10 varieties bc I love my favorites too much to wander - Beef, Ham & Cheese, and Caprese!!! However, as much as I love the empanadas, the steak lomito sandwich (thin sliced filet mignon) is truly out of this world. You have to try this place - you won't be disappointed. We tried a bunch of empanadas, a beer (they have on tap beer from the brewery nearby), and desserts!! Table favorites were the Caprese Empanada, Sweet Beef Empanada and Sweet Corn Empanadas. Wonderful little spot in the Glen Lake shopping area of Minnetonka, just down from the Unmapped Brewery. They specialize in --wait for it--empanadas. Stopped in last night and made a fine supper out of the chorizo, the barbecue chicken, the sweet corn and beef empanadas. Went back for seconds. Be sure and try the hard cider along with. All were flavorful, the chorizo especially, and well seasoned. Small but well chosen selection of drinkables. Atmosphere is casual and sociable and the crew is friendly and helpful. The collection of sandwiches and salads looked good (no entrees) but we made a fine supper out of empanadas alone. Perfect for lunch. Add a star for the lomita. I've never been to Argentina so I can't vouch for its ethnic authenticity, but I know good. And the lomita is good. Really, really good. The beef is tender and I love the cheese and the sauce. Exactly right for a light supper. Don't forget the fried egg and get potatoes for a side. They're lightly fried and not the least bit heavy like a lot of fried potatoes. We've had Delsur Empanadas before but never knew it was a small spot in a strip mall. We happened to stop by the brewery down the street and decided we wanted to grab some food within walking distance. We ordered online seven empanadas for pickup and had to wait about ten minutes after our pick up time. All were ready except one kind we ordered. Unfortunately, the rest of the empanadas were already boxed and then were cold by the time we got our food. Overall good, but definitely a but pricey/adds up fast. read more
