Was craving some sushi and haven't been here in a while so decided to stop by. I ordered an advance, the Normandy roll and a spicy tuna roll. I completely forgot how large the pieces were for each roll. I should've only ordered one, if you look at the pictures, it's hard to tell, but those are giant bites of sushi. Everything tasted great, I did prefer the Normandy Roll over the Spicy Tuna Roll. Both were supposed to be spicy, but were very mild. I asked for some extra spice on it. They gave me a little container of Sriracha. Minor warning, even if you order in advance through their website, I don't think they start making the role until you arrive. On the app, I waited until it said my order was ready for pick up before I walked over to the counter and when I arrived, they verified what my order was and then it took another 10 or 15 minutes for them to complete the rolls. Another minor issue, their wasabi and their ginger comes in little tiny packets --- I tossed them in the trash. This place is amazing! I never knew it was here. Wanted to do some pick up in this neighborhood and checked the Yelp app. I know the sushi restaurant in La Jolla Village Square, but they were not answering their phone. And I've never heard of this place but it was only a block away. It was a little hard to figure out where it was, because it's on the second floor of the second building at Holiday Court, not where Calvin's Korean fried chicken and the pho place are. But once I saw it and climbed the stairs, they had my food ready right away. And wow! First, the miso soup is delicious. Little tofu puffs and just the right amount of salt. And I got the double salmon roll, which was very reasonable and extremely delicious. They do use packaged wasabi paste instead of fresh wasabi. But the quality of the fish is amazing and it is so cheap! I'm glad that I know this is here again. Not bad. Seems designed for ucsd students who need a reasonably priced sushi fix. The portions are on the larger side (lots of rice). You go into a strip mall, look up and you'll see a delsushi sign. Go up the stairs and see a long narrow walkway. There are a few 2-top tables. It's more of a takeout spot-and they take triton dollars. I'd call I the order bc it takes a minute. Took about 20m for my 3 roll order. I'm guessing folks get a lot of baked rolls but I opted for Cali and Alaskan rolls. Service was fine. read more

The focus was not only for takeout and delivery but also towards the nearby students with a late night closing time of 11:30 pm. Over thirty types of maki rolls were offered with the most expensive ones priced at $17.99. Appetizers, wonton soup, dumplings, potstickers, and rice bowls were the other categories so it wasn't only sushi being sold here. All of the menu prices seemed reasonable, especially for those on a limited budget like college campus residents. I chose a Love Love Roll and the Pork, Shrimp & Chive Dumplings for my meal. It took at least 10 minutes for the kitchen to prepare the two items. The roll was riceless and consisted of six pieces of tuna, spicy tuna, and avocado served in a plastic takeout container. The spicy tuna had a light bit of heat to it. The dumplings came as a quantity of twelve. They were freshly boiled and served on a rectangular plate. Condiments like soy sauce, vinegar, and hot sauce were provided on the side. For $13.99, the quality was good for such a price. This place isn't awful per se but they cheap out on ingredients. I ordered 3 rolls and the fish/eel was so thinly sliced I felt cheated. These sushi rolls are big but mostly fake crab. The avocado is cut at an angle to make it seem like it's a decent sized piece. But when you turn the rolls over you can't see the avocado on the other side. Prices are on the cheaper side and you definitely get what you pay for :/ I recommend seeking out other sushi options if you want to actually eat sushi and not repeated mouthfuls of fake crab. read more

The food was absolutely amazing. We tried the baked salmon and that was delicious and I wish we had more than two! My favorite part of Delsushi is how generous they are with the fish, especially with the salmon roll, that's definitely a must have. Gets the job done when I'm craving sushi at night and when I don't want to venture out. I've stopped in this plaza many times, but decided to order sushi for dinner while staying at the Sheraton La Jolla. I placed an order in person and left my phone number to text me when it was ready. I ordered a cup of the miso soup and the Jessica Roll. Just a small dinner for one. It only took about 10-12 minutes before the food was ready and I was on my way. It was quite expensive, like $20 a pop. But the roll did use a lot of fish, so sort of understandable. But it did really bother me when the rice was too soft and gooey. The rice had way too much water, and they been molded too much. If I am paying $20 for a sushi, that rice needs to be able to roll around on my tongue. read more

We stopped by this place on a Sunday afternoon after craving some sushi. We were surprised that you gotta walk up some outdoor stairs to lead up towards the entrance. There aren't indoor seatings but there is a small table on the outside. We got a Double Salmon and a California roll. Both were delicious. The price is very affordable for sushi rolls. The box might look small at first but they were packed with fish/protein! I absolutely love the Salmon- fatty and buttery yumm! My bf got no complaints about his roll either! Visit Dates: 1/13/21 & 1/17/21 Mealtime: Dinner I worked late one night recently, was hungry and craving sushi, but where I live most of the restaurants close by 9:00 p.m.. I Googled to find a place that would serve sushi after 9:00 p.m. and discovered that Delsushi is open till 11:00 p.m.! It's a little bit farther for me to drive, but ended up being totally worth it, so I went back a few days later and it is now my go-to sushi spot! On the first visit I ordered the Pink Lady ($11.99 - salmon, crab, avocado and no rice) and a Philadelphia roll ($9.99). I usually pay about 7 to $8 for a Philly roll, so I thought that was a little on the high side, but read the reviews that said the rolls were on the larger size. And that they were! On the second visit I ordered the Double Salmon roll ($13.99 - salmon and avocado inside and out) and the California Crunch roll. Actually, I would prefer to have 10 smaller pieces rather than eight large pieces, just because it makes them easier to eat. Besides the delicious sushi, they offered great customer service and even the packaging had a nice touch. Each item was separately packaged in a heavy duty plastic container that had a label to describe the container's contents so if you would order for a large group, it would be easy to tell the orders apart. They put everything in a nice paper bag with handles (rather than plastic) and include packages of low sodium soy sauce, ginger and wasabi. I only wish they would use compostable containers, but since they aren't and these are a higher end plastic, I'm washing them and storing them away for the day I can socialize after the pandemic and use them as to-go containers for food I cook/bake. read more
