Incredible sushi at a great value. The pieces are huge, and the service is charming and very friendly! It is a small venue with outdoor seating only, on the second floor of the town center. Very much worth a visit if youre a local or out of town traveler.

Absolutely delicious! Found this place searching for sushi nearby. The rolls are MASSIVE! I definitely was not expecting the rolls to be so big. Full of flavor and definitely satisfied my sushi craving. If you're a fan of baked rolls, get either the baked salmon or the dynamite. They're so good! Everything was yummy; even the California roll. Support this local business and you will not be disappointed!

DelSushi operates out of a second level suite in the Villa La Jolla Plaza that is in close proximity to the UCSD campus. The seating was all outdoors in a narrow corridor in front of the entrance. You can't sit inside, and orders were taken at the doorway like during the middle of the pandemic. A menu sheet with photos along with a multiple page menu booklet were available for viewing. The focus was not only for takeout and delivery but also towards the nearby students with a late night closing time of 11:30 pm. Over thirty types of maki rolls were offered with the most expensive ones priced at $17.99. Appetizers, wonton soup, dumplings, potstickers, and rice bowls were the other categories so it wasn't only sushi being sold here. All of the menu prices seemed reasonable, especially for those on a limited budget like college campus residents. I chose a Love Love Roll and the Pork, Shrimp & Chive Dumplings for my meal. It took at least 10 minutes for the kitchen to prepare the two items. The roll was riceless and consisted of six pieces of tuna, spicy tuna, and avocado served in a plastic takeout container. The spicy tuna had a light bit of heat to it. The dumplings came as a quantity of twelve. They were freshly boiled and served on a rectangular plate. Condiments like soy sauce, vinegar, and hot sauce were provided on the side. For $13.99, the quality was good for such a price. If you have a late night sushi craving and live close by, then DelSushi can satisfy that urge.

super thin pieces of fish :(

This place isn't awful per se but they cheap out on ingredients. I ordered 3 rolls and the fish/eel was so thinly sliced I felt cheated. These sushi rolls are big but mostly fake crab. The avocado is cut at an angle to make it seem like it's a decent sized piece. But when you turn the rolls over you can't see the avocado on the other side. Prices are on the cheaper side and you definitely get what you pay for :/ I recommend seeking out other sushi options if you want to actually eat sushi and not repeated mouthfuls of fake crab.

This is a great late night sushi spot to try! (and it accepts triton cash for ucsd students) There were several sauce options and each roll was pretty good. The spicy tuna crunch roll was definitely my favorite and really refreshing. The spot only has outside sitting from what I saw but there is a good amount of seating. If you want to eat there I'd recommend it on a night that isn't so chilly!

I found this place on-line, site unseen, and walked up to pick my order up from a small, kitchen-only sushi spot (there are a few seats outside, but not really a place you want to dine at). It seems family run, and when I said my name, the woman almost apologized for the fact the maguro I ordered was really otoro. Ok, wow! Yes please! I go to a sushi place in America for the fresh fish, not cooked, and this is the best sushi and nigiri I have had in a long time (if not attempting to go to a Michelin star type place). What a find! Also, I would have spent much less money if I knew the nigiri orders contained 8 pieces instead of the more usual 2 ... but no matter because my kids gobbled it up. Highly recommend this place and wish I lived here instead of the Bay Area because this would be a regular in my rotation.

    Super Delsushi Roll I think?

The food was absolutely amazing. We tried the baked salmon and that was delicious and I wish we had more than two! My favorite part of Delsushi is how generous they are with the fish, especially with the salmon roll, that's definitely a must have. I'm pretty sure the first picture is of the del sushi roll and it was so huge we had to cut it up so that felt a little wrong. Service was great and quick(but not too quick that it was premade if you know what I mean). Lovely little place and the patio was nice but definitely more of a take out place but the seating was nice.

Super cute place and owner! Sushi was good and she made sure we were taken care of. The rolls are huge so you definitely get your moneys worth.

Oh I was craving late night sushi, and I really really wanted to love this roll! I'm a huge fan of baked rolls and lobster... yes, please! Unfortunately, the execution of this wasn't that great. Way too much mayonnaise cloaked the flavor of even the lobster and the roll was so mushy. If I tried this place again I would avoid this roll and go for a raw one.

The sushi is always so good and fresh here and the owners are very nice. When we went to pick up our order, they gave us a sample of a new menu item and it was delish

The service at the to-go counter was very friendly and fast. Not friendly or helpful, very short, like she was annoyed helping us. They just opened so I assumed the freshest ingredients. Not so. My favorite Tomato Soup - meh. Nothing special. Like it came from a can. Steak was ok. Tough. Used to be better quality. Shrimp was just ok. Toasted bread was meh. Nothing special. It used to a crispy treat. Not crispy. Being the second people in, the tables were sticky, even when asked to have them wiped down. Men's restroom had no paper towels, sticky floors, greasy finger prints on the door. And they just opened. This lack of sanitation in the front of the house makes me question their kitchen sanitation. If they don't care here, where else are they not caring? Maybe it's just this location. I made a special drive here to introduce my husband to one of my favorite dining experiences. Embarrassed to disappoint my easy-to-please husband.

Great mix of western and traditional dishes done really well! Fast, no nonsense service. Definite regular for me. These kinds of shops are all over the San Gabriel valley/Diamond Bar/Rowland Heights areas but this is rare here in San Diego. Usually Chinese restaurants cater to Americanized tastes or traditional Chinese flavors but there's a middle ground in small cafes like this. Heavy wok char flavor, balance between intense spices, aromatics, and flavor balance that's a bit more Chinese (think less salty, less sweet than your local Americanized Chinese family restaurant) The service is simple and no nonsense. They are short on staff but do reasonably well. Ordering is possible online QR code so can be fast and carefree. Decor is super simple, but clean (if it feels like a boba shop it's because it was before changing hands) Service 5/10 Ambience: NA Everything is cooked very well. Veggies come out bright and crisp, traditional dishes don't lack the aromatics and spices that I want. For instance, the lamb had fruity pepper notes, and pronounced garlic, cumin, and coriander. On the other hand, Americanized dishes like sweet and sour pork are fried perfectly and have pungent tart and syrupy sweetness. However, again I'll say probably not as sweet or as tangy as other places; it's a subtlety that I really appreciate. Taste 9/10 Altogether you'll be paying ~$20 per dish after tip/tax but I have never left without leftovers. Feels like home :) giving a 4/5 only because of service but I'm hopeful they work that out. Consistency is often what separates a good restaurant from a great one, and Ramen Nagi has delivered a fantastic experience every time I've visited. On this visit, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with a seasoned egg and braised pork belly, along with a side of karaage. The broth was rich, creamy, and deeply flavorful, with the kind of pork-forward depth that tonkotsu lovers crave. Despite its richness, it remained balanced and drinkable from the first spoonful to the last. The noodles had an excellent texture, and the toppings were spot-on. The pork belly was tender and succulent, while the ajitama egg was beautifully marinated with a perfectly jammy yolk. The karaage was equally impressive - crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right. Served with shredded cabbage, a lemon wedge, and a creamy tartar-style sauce, it was the perfect accompaniment to the ramen. One of the small details that keeps me coming back is the jar of seasoned bean sprouts on every table. Tossed with sesame oil and black pepper, they provide a refreshing crunch and a subtle nutty flavor that pairs wonderfully with the rich broth. I find myself adding them throughout the meal, and they elevate an already excellent bowl. The only disappointment is that Ramen Nagi appears to have discontinued its pickled mustard greens. Longtime customers will likely understand why that's unfortunate. Their tangy, salty bite provided the perfect contrast to the richness of the tonkotsu broth and added another layer of complexity to the meal. The ramen is still outstanding, but I definitely miss having them as an option. What I appreciate most about Ramen Nagi is the balance of flavors and textures in every bowl. Fresh green onions, wood ear mushrooms, tender pork, springy noodles, and that signature creamy broth all come together beautifully. The ability to customize noodle firmness, broth richness, garlic, and spice level makes it easy to tailor the experience exactly to your liking. If you're looking for authentic Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen in San Diego, Ramen Nagi remains one of the best choices in town. Even after five visits, I'm still finding reasons to come back. The quality has been consistently excellent, the karaage is a must-order, and the ramen continues to justify the wait during busy hours. Bottom line: Five visits in, Ramen Nagi still delivers one of the most satisfying bowls of ramen in San Diego. I only wish they'd bring back the pickled mustard greens.
