    Double Tuna Roll
    Jamee S.

Great place to go if you're hungry as the rolls are huge. Not a lot of options for fish though (salmon, tuna, unagi and shrimp). Most of the sushi is basically a California Roll with a kind fish on top. You order and pay at a window. Basically whether you say for here or to go, you're getting your food in to-go containers. They have a 4 small tables that are perfect for 2 people that are lined up along a skinny hall. Sushi took a while to prepare. We did have 7 rolls but it was a wait. We ordered: Philadelphia Roll (2) Alaska Roll Dragon Roll Double Tuna Roll Double Salmon Roll Hawaiian Roll Edamame - plain. Not salted. Miso soup - okay Seaweed Salad - very gooey Overall the sushi all kind of tasted the same.

Was craving some sushi and haven't been here in a while so decided to stop by. I ordered an advance, the Normandy roll and a spicy tuna roll. I completely forgot how large the pieces were for each roll. I should've only ordered one, if you look at the pictures, it's hard to tell, but those are giant bites of sushi. Everything tasted great, I did prefer the Normandy Roll over the Spicy Tuna Roll. Both were supposed to be spicy, but were very mild. I asked for some extra spice on it. They gave me a little container of Sriracha. Minor warning, even if you order in advance through their website, I don't think they start making the role until you arrive. On the app, I waited until it said my order was ready for pick up before I walked over to the counter and when I arrived, they verified what my order was and then it took another 10 or 15 minutes for them to complete the rolls. Another minor issue, their wasabi and their ginger comes in little tiny packets --- I tossed them in the trash. This is definitely a to go place, but they did have a little bit of seating outside overlooking the parking lot. it actually wasn't that bad at night with the lights from the street.

Not bad. Seems designed for ucsd students who need a reasonably priced sushi fix. The portions are on the larger side (lots of rice). You go into a strip mall, look up and you'll see a delsushi sign. Go up the stairs and see a long narrow walkway. There are a few 2-top tables. It's more of a takeout spot-and they take triton dollars. I'd call I the order bc it takes a minute. Took about 20m for my 3 roll order. I'm guessing folks get a lot of baked rolls but I opted for Cali and Alaskan rolls. Service was fine.

This is a great late night sushi spot to try! (and it accepts triton cash for ucsd students) There were several sauce options and each roll was pretty good. The spicy tuna crunch roll was definitely my favorite and really refreshing. The spot only has outside sitting from what I saw but there is a good amount of seating. If you want to eat there I'd recommend it on a night that isn't so chilly!

DelSushi operates out of a second level suite in the Villa La Jolla Plaza that is in close proximity to the UCSD campus. The seating was all outdoors in a narrow corridor in front of the entrance. You can't sit inside, and orders were taken at the doorway like during the middle of the pandemic. A menu sheet with photos along with a multiple page menu booklet were available for viewing. The focus was not only for takeout and delivery but also towards the nearby students with a late night closing time of 11:30 pm. Over thirty types of maki rolls were offered with the most expensive ones priced at $17.99. Appetizers, wonton soup, dumplings, potstickers, and rice bowls were the other categories so it wasn't only sushi being sold here. All of the menu prices seemed reasonable, especially for those on a limited budget like college campus residents. I chose a Love Love Roll and the Pork, Shrimp & Chive Dumplings for my meal. It took at least 10 minutes for the kitchen to prepare the two items. The roll was riceless and consisted of six pieces of tuna, spicy tuna, and avocado served in a plastic takeout container. The spicy tuna had a light bit of heat to it. The dumplings came as a quantity of twelve. They were freshly boiled and served on a rectangular plate. Condiments like soy sauce, vinegar, and hot sauce were provided on the side. For $13.99, the quality was good for such a price. If you have a late night sushi craving and live close by, then DelSushi can satisfy that urge.

Incredible sushi at a great value. The pieces are huge, and the service is charming and very friendly! It is a small venue with outdoor seating only, on the second floor of the town center. Very much worth a visit if youre a local or out of town traveler.

super thin pieces of fish :(

This place isn't awful per se but they cheap out on ingredients. I ordered 3 rolls and the fish/eel was so thinly sliced I felt cheated. These sushi rolls are big but mostly fake crab. The avocado is cut at an angle to make it seem like it's a decent sized piece. But when you turn the rolls over you can't see the avocado on the other side. Prices are on the cheaper side and you definitely get what you pay for :/ I recommend seeking out other sushi options if you want to actually eat sushi and not repeated mouthfuls of fake crab.

Absolutely delicious! Found this place searching for sushi nearby. The rolls are MASSIVE! I definitely was not expecting the rolls to be so big. Full of flavor and definitely satisfied my sushi craving. If you're a fan of baked rolls, get either the baked salmon or the dynamite. They're so good! Everything was yummy; even the California roll. Support this local business and you will not be disappointed!

I found this place on-line, site unseen, and walked up to pick my order up from a small, kitchen-only sushi spot (there are a few seats outside, but not really a place you want to dine at). It seems family run, and when I said my name, the woman almost apologized for the fact the maguro I ordered was really otoro. Ok, wow! Yes please! I go to a sushi place in America for the fresh fish, not cooked, and this is the best sushi and nigiri I have had in a long time (if not attempting to go to a Michelin star type place). What a find! Also, I would have spent much less money if I knew the nigiri orders contained 8 pieces instead of the more usual 2 ... but no matter because my kids gobbled it up. Highly recommend this place and wish I lived here instead of the Bay Area because this would be a regular in my rotation.

    Super Delsushi Roll I think?
    Lindsey M.

The food was absolutely amazing. We tried the baked salmon and that was delicious and I wish we had more than two! My favorite part of Delsushi is how generous they are with the fish, especially with the salmon roll, that's definitely a must have. I'm pretty sure the first picture is of the del sushi roll and it was so huge we had to cut it up so that felt a little wrong. Service was great and quick(but not too quick that it was premade if you know what I mean). Lovely little place and the patio was nice but definitely more of a take out place but the seating was nice.

Baked Salmon Roll, rainbow roll, Salmon Roll.

Super cute place and owner! Sushi was good and she made sure we were taken care of. The rolls are huge so you definitely get your moneys worth.

Oh I was craving late night sushi, and I really really wanted to love this roll! I'm a huge fan of baked rolls and lobster... yes, please! Unfortunately, the execution of this wasn't that great. Way too much mayonnaise cloaked the flavor of even the lobster and the roll was so mushy. If I tried this place again I would avoid this roll and go for a raw one.

I think I was sitting in the store for at least 30 minutes while a family member waited in our car and watched several people park, get their orders and leave. Two people who ordered after us received their food before we did. I finally stood up and only then did an associate crabbily pack up our order and give it to us. When we first arrived, no one even showed up at the counter for at least five minutes. There was another customer waiting behind us as well. My sandwich (Happy Hippie) was not very good...insubstantial and put together in a blah manner. A family member who had the "not so fried chicken sandwich" said it was too salty. I paid $62 for this order (with a tip, which I had added before the long wait...) It obviously wasn't a good value, This is a beautiful and clean store but a general lack of enthusiasm from the associates, inconsistent customer service, high prices, and mediocre quality food will dissuade me from making any future visits to this location.

We tried pretty much all of the proteins, from the steak, chicken, pork rib, ribs, and they were all excellent very fresh ingredients. The meats were so perfectly cooked and tender they basically fell apart easier than Thanos's army at the end of Endgame lol. We especially love the side dishes. The broccolini was excellent with the sesame sauce. We loved the brussels sprouts as well. And I really loved the beef and mushroom soup. It had such a comforting and rich flavor that it felt like Scarlet Witch used some chaos magic in the kitchen to get it exactly right. French fries were pretty good, and pretty standard. After finishing the entertaining and riveting apocalyptic movie, we weren't sure where we were going to eat for dinner because our first restaurant choice Ramen Nagi closed at 9pm. My son's pahtner mentioned that the Ramen Nagi in San Jose had a last seating of 9pm, so we walked briskly to the restaurant and I learned that as long as you're in line before the closing time of 9pm, you'll get served. Three of the four members in our party talked glowingly about Ramen Nagi, so I was excited to grub here for the first time. After eating their Original King ramen, the chicken karaage, the gyoza, and receiving quality customer service, I wholeheartedly concur with my family's positive reviews and understand now why the restaurant was packed at closing time and why Ramen Nagi is highly rated with 4.4 stars and 738 reviews. Ramen Nagi is located within the shops of the University Towne Center (UTC) La Jolla mall. The restaurant is located towards the west end of the mall where you'll find Raised by Wolves, new spot Chef Fei, it's across from Katsuya Ko and Alo, and it's next door to Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. Parking is paid parking at the mall, but the first hour is free. There's bright indoor seating and minimally lit umbrella covered outdoor seating. Being the foodie that I am, I prefer indoor seating, so that the lighting would be conducive to seeing the food and taking pics. Look for the banners with Japanese verbiage and a large red lantern in front of Ramen Nagi. Adjacent to the outdoor seating, there's a water feature that gives off relaxing vibes. The customer service from all of the staff we interacted with was outstanding and is probably why it's such a popular eatery. To be completely transparent, I'm not a fan of having to make my food selections on the provided sheet of paper while waiting in line. I don't know if that's normal SOP and maybe it was because we were one of the last diners and they just wanted to speed along the process. I'd rather take my time, peruse their menu, and order what I desire. Luckily for me, my Pahtner had eaten at Ramen Nagi, so I just trusted her choices with a personalized deviation. What I ordered, through my wife's recommendations, was the following: Original King ramen flavor, normal strength of salt, normal richness in oil, normal garlic, chashu pork, green onions for vegetable, #4 for my spiciness, normal thin noodles, tamago (egg), and for appetizers, chicken karaage and gyoza. I felt rushed to pick my selections. For my spice level, #4 made me sweat, so be cautious when choosing spiciness unless you can handle a lot of spice. I really enjoyed the taste of the broth and the components I chose, but the chashu was not as tender as I would have liked. The ramen was a satisfying bowl that I consumed delightfully. Make sure to order both the chicken karaage and gyoza. The karaage was succulent, tasty, and would have eaten well with white rice. The gyoza was unique as it came out not looking like the dumplings I'm accustomed to. It came out flat and covered in a crunchy texture. That too was memorable and yummy. My family and I had quality time enjoying The Dog Stars and dining at Ramen Nagi. I understand now why my family recommended eating here and now I recommend everyone try out this delish ramen restaurant.
