Suitcase with wheel broken by Delta Airlines baggage handler
    Thomas T.

I had no issues with the flight, on 9/10, until I claimed my bag and two of the wheels were broken. I reported the damage and received the claim number. I declined their replacement bag offer and advised the baggage claim representative I would buy my own replacement. I received an email on 10/13/2024 advising I would receive a follow up email with instructions on how to claim my replacement bag. That email never came and the previous email neither listed a deadline to respond nor advised the case would be closed since they offered me a replacement bag. I submitted proof of purchase online around 11/23. When I had not received reimbursement by 12/13, I contacted the baggage department via chat. It was only then I learned the case had been closed on 10/13. I did not receive an answer as to what happened to the case when I submitted proof of purchase. As instructed, I replied to the 10/13 email on 12/13. Now a week later, no response from the case manager and chatting with the baggage team again trying to find out when I may expect the reimbursement check. I did advise the agent we are now outside of the "3 business days" window the chat not states claims can take. Now I remember why I don't fly Delta.

The sandwich was delicious not because I had 3-hr delay. Starbucks coffee while flying with Delta, anyone?

My flight from MCO to LAX on 22 Dec 24 was 3 hours delayed, but I want to give the Delta Airlines staff, ground and flight, this 5-starc review. The delays were caused by bad weather elsewhere, and the previous was late, creating a domino effect. But the airlines communicated with us well enough. We received 8 different messages to keep us with status updates. The crew of our flight, probably pulled in at last minutes with one from Los Angeles, another from Orlando, and else, to make it happen, and with smiles. I would rather paying more to fly with Delta, noticing the improvement in their services lately. Thank you.

I can usually count on Delta for travel in the states. They're okay. I don't really have any loyalty to any airline, and I will take the best deal a lot of the time. This usually has me on a Delta flight. In December 2022 I had a total of four Delta flights, two to get me to Orlando (SMF to ATL, ATL to MCO), and two to get me back to Sacramento (MCO to LAX, LAX to SMF). I've had good luck in the past with direct flights, but this time I followed the deals to layover land. Sometimes they do annoying things to those of us who buy basic tickets, like on my flight back to CA from Orlando I couldn't get my seat assigned at online check in. I had to stand in line at the desk at the gate (once a gate was actually decided on, good thing I arrive more early than necessary each time I fly) to receive my seat assignment. I think it was a glitch of some kind with their system, and I did get an aisle seat, so I was satisfied. The in flight comp snack situation is nice. Would be nice if they offered a comp meal for a four hour flight, but that will cost you. They had nuts, sun chips, biscoff cookies, and granola bars to choose from, with a choice of non alcy drinkie. Ginger Ale for whatever reason has been my plane bevvy choice since I was a kid. They also offered coffee and water during the four hour flight. They've got the booze if you've got the $. Each seat back had a personal movie screen attached and the touch screen usually worked well. I had one flight on the way to Orlando from Atlanta where it wasn't working, boo. I caught up on some movies I never got around to watching. Imitation Game on the way (bad choice, started crying then tried to watch an episode of The Office to cheer me up and had to stop because I was laughing too loud and can't be that person on the plane), and Theory of Everything on the way back. And 2005 Pride & Prejudice for comfort, don't ask me how many times I've seen that. Even with my book and switch in my bag, it was nice to have the option of movies, games, tv shows, and even live tv! I could watch my Portugal National Team lose right there in the plane! Happy World Cup 2022! So, to sum up, Delta gets a four star for recent experiences and I don't feel like reviewing more than one airline page. If you're going to nitpick, there's plenty, but I was taken care of where it was important. There were pretty bad delays in Atlanta, but that's not anyone's fault. The other three flights were fine. I get what I pay for. Except for when it comes to Spirit, yikes. Before I go, I will mention also that they sometimes send you a text or email offering free bag check if it's going to be a full flight. NO way in heck I was doing that on the way with wedding stuff in my carry on, but on the way back sure, I let them do it, and had no issues. Normally, it costs to check a bag, of course. I like to not unless I'm headed overseas. See you soon Delta. p.s. Delta terminal makeover in LAX looks nice. Wow. First time I've ever been through LAX without one complaint. Unless you count the Dodger imagery.

I wish I flew Delta more. I have no status and loyalty points with Delta, so I only fly them when they're the best option. They have some pretty good direct flight options to cities where my usual airlines are either too expensive or have a connection. I absolutely love the fact that you can use points to "upgrade" to comfort plus from normal coach (or whatever it's called these days). I'll probably never fly Delta enough to earn a free ticket (especially now that those are going up in the number of miles needed). I wish AA did that. Delta makes it easier. They DO serve alcohol which is a plus over some other airlines, although I think that's coming back soon to others. Their Snacks are not much to write home about, even in Comfort+. They could do a better job there.

I took a flight down to FL with the kids to visit relatives. The flight left on time and arrived on time, which is great. HOWEVER, with Delta Variant of COVID surging, I was concerned about Delta Airlines social distancing policies (or lack thereof). The flight was FULLY BOOKED. Forget 6 ft of separation, the seats are packed like sardines. The person next to me had the sniffles, which I pray is just allergies. Thankfully mask wearing is enforced. There is a sign at the boarding gate: "your aircraft has been sanitized and inspected" that is supposed to re-assure you, but I wonder what does that mean? Are they steam cleaning every seat and wiping down every surface? What is good but troubling at the same time is that they provide passengers with a packet of Purell...why is this necessary if the plane has been "sanitized and inspected" already?

Gold didn't help me much today but I guess since there's no seat in front of me I shouldn't complain huh ‍. The lady's that work gate 74-78 are super classy and always extremely nice. It always pains me to see people get irate with them over minuscule issues. Come on travelers there just doing their job & dealing with u makes it worse. Don't be a Karen and show up super late and expect an upgrade

Looking back, I should've taken Frontier as an omen…read more This trip was for my aunt's birthday cruise aboard Norwegian Prima, and somehow the vacation started unraveling before I even made it to Orlando. I'll be transparent: I was late to my original flight. That part is true. It wasn't because I overslept or mismanaged my time, but because someone else's delay caused us to arrive later than planned. I'm not asking Frontier to ignore their policies or hold an airplane for me. What I am asking for is consistency. Instead, I got conflicting information from nearly every person I spoke with. The Frontier ticket counter told me one thing. The customer service phone agents told me something else. Another customer service representative contradicted the previous one. Then I'd finally make it back to the front of the line, only to be told something completely different again. At one point, I literally made the desk agent read every note from my previous phone conversations because somewhere between the call center and the airport counter, the message kept getting lost in translation. I wasn't even able to have the phone representative speak directly with the desk agent, so I became the middleman, bouncing back and forth between the counter and customer service like I was negotiating an international peace treaty instead of trying to catch a flight to Orlando. The most frustrating part involved checked baggage. We had an email stating one deadline. The airport staff cited another. We were told checked bags had to be there by a certain cutoff, despite us arriving within what we believed was the required window based on Frontier's own communication. By the time we reached the counter, we were simply told the window had already closed. Maybe that's the policy. Fine. But if that's the policy, then every Frontier employee should be explaining the same policy the same way. That wasn't happening. In the end, there were no exceptions. No flexibility. No meaningful attempt to help. Just a $261 one-way rebooking fee to move me from my original noon-ish departure to an evening flight around 7:30 p.m. So instead of starting my vacation, I got to spend most of the day sitting in Detroit Metro Airport. The irony? I paid for TSA PreCheck, and by the time all this unfolded, it didn't even matter. I breezed through security only to spend the next several hours sitting in the terminal wondering why I'd bothered paying for expedited screening in the first place. To make matters even more interesting, we later found out someone else in our travel group, traveling separately, also experienced issues with Frontier that delayed them until later in the day. Maybe it was bad luck. Maybe that's just how Frontier operates. Either way, it didn't inspire confidence. The actual flight itself was...fine. It got me to Orlando safely, and I'll gladly give credit where it's due. Once I was finally on the plane, there wasn't much to complain about. The problem wasn't the flying. The problem was everything required to get onto the airplane. Frontier seems to operate under the same à la carte philosophy as Norwegian Cruise Line: charge separately for everything while making the rules feel like they're changing depending on which employee you ask. Policies are policies. I understand that. But inconsistent communication is not a policy, it's a customer service failure. If you're going to tell customers "no," at least have everyone telling them the same "no." Unfortunately, because this was a round-trip ticket, I still have to fly Frontier home unless I want to eat the cost and book another airline. But once this trip is over, I can confidently say this: If Frontier is my only option in the future, it had better be because every other airline has disappeared from the departure board. Otherwise, I'll happily pay more to avoid repeating this experience. By the time I finally landed in Orlando, I thought the hard part of my vacation was behind me. Little did I know, Frontier was just the opening act. Norwegian, Lyft, and Local Rides were waiting to headline the rest of the week. As I'm writing this review, I literally just checked in for my return flight and paid to upgrade my seat. Why? Because after this week, I'm going to be comfortable going home after all this bullsh!t. Frontier already got another few dollars out of me, but at least this time I know exactly what I'm paying for. If the seat reclines and lands in Detroit, it'll probably end up being the best value purchase of my entire vacation.

We were never told why it was delayed so much. There is absolutely nothing to do at this airport, or at least in the terminal I was in. They could at least add some random small Disney store or fun bar in the area! There weren't any charging stations or work tables to busy oneself. I just spent the time pacing back and forth the outdated large hallway watching some idle planes, and sat around. On the flight, they didn't even give us more than one snack to compensate! The TSA line was oddly long, too. It wrapped around several times, but it may have been because of recent REAL ID confusion. They seemed to be on the watch for something, because they had some dogs walking back and forth as people crossed a section one by one. At least the security is active here? Then, it was US Airways flying across the country, again from Phoenix, and I was getting upgraded regularly. Now, it's American Airlines that I frequent, along with past America West Airlines and US Airways patrons. I find that, as with any other airline, customer service is often better than not, but there are always a few hiccups. With American Airlines, you can get someone on the phone, on a chat, on social media, or in person to assist, and with some respect on our part, we can often get what we need. I rarely have luggage issues, though there was one time when my bag was damaged, and American Airlines gave me a replacement while they repaired my original. I regularly fly in and out of the American Airlines gates at Phoenix Sky Harbor and frequent hubs like Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago O'Hare, Philadelphia, and Charlotte. I even make it out to Orlando on occasion, having visited at least every few years for a conference or an occasional Disney World vacation. Often, my travels require a connecting flight, and my flights are, more often than not, on time and without delays in departure or arrival. With status, an American Airlines credit card, and membership in CLEAR and Global Entry, I do not pay for luggage, receive priority luggage handling, board early, speed through security, sometimes receive upgrades, and access lounges. Traveling has become more of a hobby and a habit, and with American Airlines as my go-to airline, I accumulate miles quickly while also earning status and Loyalty Point rewards. I have two travel premium credit cards: the AAdvantage Executive Mastercard, which offers complimentary Admirals Club access, and the American Express Platinum card, which offers lounge access, travel credits, and complimentary CLEAR and Global Entry memberships. With these two credit cards, I can access the Admiral's Club at Orlando International Airport or The Club at MCO. I may even be able to visit the Plaza Premium Lounge, though I've never checked. Also, through T-Mobile, I received free Wi-Fi on American Airlines flights (though now it is free for anyone with an AAdvantage account). Through my American Airlines AAdvantage status, I get upgrades or free paid snacks and drinks on flights, along with other benefits. To retain status each year, you need to earn Loyalty Point through flying, credit card spending, and promotions. You can also earn Loyalty point rewards after hitting 175,000 points, 250,000 points, and so on. While it is difficult to receive upgrades due to the large number of people at the Executive Platinum status tier, the benefits I do receive are worthwhile. I have also experienced technical issues on flights, but not enough to cause me to abandon American Airlines, especially when every other airline faces the same challenges. All in all, American Airlines is a great company and does as well, if not better than, any of the other major airlines.

EVENMORE (refreshed tier level experience that debuted 1/28/25) review…read more bought EvenMore tickets for addtl $59 1 month before trip. Prices vary depending on scheduled trip (earlier is more $$). the perks of EvenMore are 1) extra legroom (up to 7 inches), 2) up to 3 free alcoholic drinks on flights over 250 miles, 3) priority access (groups 1/2), 4) dedicated overhead bin space, 5) 1 extra snack besides the usual free ones (called a premium snack (ie: tates mini chocolate chip cookies) Seats - Overall, though the added benefits seem promising, the pluses really only save about 30-45 minutes of extra waiting time for deplaning if you compare sitting in the first 5 rows (EvenMore) vs Standard core economy (behind EM). The EvenMore seats also depend on type of aircraft. Bigger plan will have 1-2 more designated rows. Snacks - The extra premix snack is so small. All of the snacks are much smaller (ie: chifles plantains (.65 oz) and goldfish (.75 oz)). Honestly, they look like halloween treat bags. The goldfish bags retail for on average 27 cents per bag.... SMH. They should bring back the jetblue purple chips (ICONIC!!!). Drinks - Their decaf coffee is an instant folgers stick and they offer Dunkin coffee. As for the max 3 free drinks, I didnt see anyone get even their 2nd drink. After the stewards go down the aisle for our first drinks, they dont come by again for drinks. it just feels a little awkward to ask for 2nd/3rd ones... Other offerings - On EM, you can get headphones upon request. Everything else is $. a quilted blanket is $11 pretax. The movie offerings were only 3 (Michael (the Michael Jackson biopic, mario movie, and something other). The TV remote is not wired so it is a bit awkward to look at the remote while changing channels. Is it worth it? Not for me if it beyond $60+. The value just isn't there. So much is not included. It is great for tall people or people in a hurry, but the "free" amenities are very disappointing.

If you have your Magic Band ready when you get off the plane, it's incredibly easy, and you just walk up and scan your Magic Band and they tell you what line to stand in. Line 10 is AKL for both villages and Coronado. A personal gripe of mine; I don't think Deluxe resorts should have to share busses. Before this trip, we'd always stayed at Polynesian and Grand Floridian. They are both Deluxe resorts, and they share with Contemporary, and all of those resorts are right next to each other, so it didn't really bother me. But this time we were at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and we stopped at Art of Animation and Pop Century before getting to AKL. I just think the Deluxe resorts are so much more expensive that they could get their own busses. In any case, I landed at the airport at 3:45, was on a bus by 4:15, and on resort at 5:07. I don't think it's worth the cost of an Uber to get there like a half hour faster, but that's up to you. One thing that's great about Disney is that you don't need to worry about transportation at all once you get there, and I really appreciate that. And if you check bags, you don't even need to get those, and they'll deliver them right to your room. I had a very early flight home though, and they picked me up excessively early. I got picked up at 5:30am for an 8:30am flight. I didn't have luggage, but if I did I could have checked it at the resort, so no one needs to be at the airport that early. I sat around for a good 2 hours before my flight. That might have been worth taking an Uber just so I could sleep another hour. It's still a great service though, and I plan to use it again next time. There's really no reason to spend extra on transportation when this is included with your stay.

It's great if you don't need to rent a car as you can use this bus service from and back to the airport. I highly recommend it. Then just use the free Disney transportation to get to parks and shopping. Never had a bad experience! Clean and comfortable buses, with professional courteous drivers. Charging ports on the bus along with TV's showcasing Disney info and trivia. They have this down to a science. Be sure to tag your bags correctly, and they will get them for you, and they magically show up at your hotel. The buses run on specific schedules and based on the time of your flight be prepared to leave a bit earlier to the airport. I read this service will end in 2022. Sad, as it's a terrific perk.

I got to the airport 2 1/2 - 3 hours before my flight, so going through security check was an extremely quick process. It may have lasted 10 minutes in total, which was amazing because the estimated time said it'd take at least 24. The flight was about 9 hours long, but the entertainment system shockingly had really good choices so it kept me entertained when I was tired of listening to the music on my phone. British Airways is still my favorite, but Virgin is definitely being added to the list.

Booking everything online with Delta was super easy and our information was transferred to Virgin Atlantic including our points. All we had to do from that point forward was download the Virgin Atlantic app on to our phones to get updated flight information. The only thing that didn't get transferred was his KTN. Navigating their website and app was a bit confusing so the day we flew out, we had to update his KTN with the check-in agent. If you're a government employee, this can be a hassle and set back if you do have precheck. The check-in agent has to manually enter the KTN for you. This was a minor setback that we had for my hubby. But no big deal.. we got to the airport 3 hours prior and got everything squared away in time. Now to the flight... the flight was smooth, no turbulence whatsoever. What was suppose to be an 8 hour flight turned into 7 hours so we ended up getting to London an hour earlier. It was a full flight, probably about 200 passengers on board. The flight attendants were amazing. We were served food and drinks every hour. They provided head phones, blankets and pillows. I couldn't sleep on the plane because I was so excited to be on vacation so I watched 4 movies. Would I fly with Virgin Atlantic again? Absolutely!

I recently had flights from Orlando to Milwaukee and headed to Milwaukee I did not encounter one pleasant employee. From the bag check to the flight attendants everyone had an attitude. At the gate they stopped boarding the flight until more people went to check their bag. They kept yelling at everyone that there was not enough space for your bag. I also had upgraded my seat to an emergency row and still somehow ended up in the last boarding group. I was literally the 5th to last person to board the plane. With the upgraded seats, I did not have extra leg room as I was told and the seats were very small, apparently we had an old plane. However, you do get alcohol if you want for free, (I did not know this until she never came back to charge me), and later learned. You also get upgraded snacks and reserved overhead bins. When I tried to order the flight attendant kept making me repeat myself and eventually rolled her eyes at me. It was definitely not what I expected from them. On the flight home, we were going to miss our connection and upgraded our seats to be closer to the front. They seemed to not know what to do with a wheelchair and ultimately boarded up over an hour late. On the second flight, we did not have enough transfer time to use the restroom, so by the time they came through with snacks, I did ask about the seatbelt sign and needing to use the restroom. I was told, "the pilot will not be turning it off". So I asked again could I not use the bathroom? And was then told, "I'm not going to stop you". It was just very strange when I was trying to follow the rules. They also closed the door knowing there were still people transferring and on their way. I thought that was terrible. Overall, I do think the service has gone down. the price is not the cheapest anymore and you have to pay for checked bags which used to be their draw. Increased prices, paying for checked bags and rude customer service. Not the best. I have another flight in October so I am curious to see if I had off days with them.
