We stopped in on a weeknight and almost thought this spot was closed because there were no customers. But then, we walked by on a night when there was live music and the place was packed. So, the customer base is there! Ordering is done at the counter and it was easy enough to do so. The person at the front also clued me in when I mentioned that there were cheese grits on the online menu. Apparently they don't have them on the in-house menu because they only sometimes have them made. It was my lucky day- so I got the cheese grits, the corn, mac & cheese, and fries. I loved the spice level on the corn- not too much but enough for real flavor to come through. The fries were good- and the portion was huge. I could have easily shared and walked away with a pretty heavy to-go box. The cheese grits and mac & cheese were lukewarm, but I didn't correct the problem, so that's on me. Both the mac & cheese were good, but not great- the cheese grits needed a flavor punch. The mac & cheese noodles had gone a little too soft, so the texture was a little off (flavor was on point though). I did love the blue cheese dip and chips appetizer. The portion was hearty and it is definitely a sharing app! There were things like straws, napkins, and a to-go box where we did have to go seek out the front counter staff. I think it was meant to be self-service, but the things we needed weren't out and we didn't get checked on. So, that part was a little confusing. I think that they just needed to restock their self service area a bit and hadn't yet. Overall, solid spot! I would pop in again for sure!

This place has delicious food made fresh daily. It's about 20% more expensive than I think it really should be, but the thing NOT to do is see this and pull the price down and use canned mushrooms over fresh, or prepped onions from a large vendor versus fresh, so as long as the quality is maintained, I'll pay this premium and not go there daily. I had the brisket, burnt ends, fried okra, collard greens, and a glass of beer. It was a decent meal, but missing either $3 off or another piece of brisket. I'd prefer another piece of brisket, as it was pretty good. A little dry, but good.

Had an unexpected stop for the night in Bristol for the night so I checked out a local brewery (The Cascade Draft House) and they let me know of good dining options within walking distance so I grabbed dinner at Delta Blues BBQ. I found a table inside and placed my order. Being discount wings Wednesday I tried 5 smoked (buffalo rub) wings and then the burnt end plate with turnip greens and fried corn. While I'll be that guy and say I've had better burnt ends in Kansas City, these were pretty great and the best I've ever had outside of KC. A little less crispy on the edges than I prefer, but flavorful and juicy. The wings were just about perfect and the greens and corn were spot on. $2 PBR drafts and blues rock on the radio? Friendly service and super fair prices to boot.

Dog friendly everyone!!! Love that there was a patio outside to enjoy food when with the fur babies. The tables were family style and spacious. Our party of 6 decided this was the place of choice for lunch. The menu was above the register and on the counter. I perused my options, and opted for burnt ends. Unfortunately, the employee said it was unavailable in addition to the couple of sides that were requested. It was probably due to supply and demand. We paid and waited for our food to be brought out to us in the patio. So, I ended up with the brisket, fried okra, and Cole slaw. The hubs had the smoked sausage tray with Mac and cheese and potato salad. My in laws had pulled chicken sandwich, brisket sandwich with fries. I forgot what my brother in law and gf ordered lol. So....the brisket was lukewarm, a little tough, and dry. The batter for the fried okra was bland and underwhelming. But, the coleslaw was great! It came with a simple white slice of toasted bread . My better half sausage had a nice smokiness flavor. The Mac and cheese were good, but the potato salad was very sweet. To each its own, some prefer sweet, and others savory. The fries were seasoned well. We would come back again for the dog friendly environment and hopefully burnt ends are on the menu!!!

We are in town for the race Sunday March 17,2024. We got on our Harley to find some good BBQ. Our search brought us to DB and we were amazed; first of all with the gal that helped us decide what to eat. Secondly the delicious tray of food that was presented, a 5 meat sampler , ribs,sausage,burnt ends,wings and of course brisket. Oh and an added treat to ourselves first time ever..Alligator. I guess Tennessee barbecue is a bit different than Texas barbecue. I ordered MOIST brisket and pulled pork. Both were as dry as sawdust. I also had coleslaw and baked beans, which was not too bad, but I suspect the beans were Bushes canned beans which I like. I left the majority of my meats behind because they were so dry I couldn't finish them. It just may be a different style of barbecue I'm not use to. The staff was friendly, but keeping tables clean was hard for them to keep up with. Cool vibe with decor, and seeing SRV plastered on their walls reminded me of home. (Dallas,Tx). read more

Food is always exceptional. Never a dislike, or bad experience. Service is always spot on! Every order comes out exactly the way it was requested and always with a smile and friendly face!!! Ambiance is so fun, charming and perfect for Delta Blues. And, the bands? I love getting to hear new bands and watch the live performances! Hanging outside with the bus during the warmer days is such a treat! I have not visited the Abingdon location yet, but Bristol has it going and I hope to be able and visit this restaurant years to come! read more

Small, fun ambiance with amazing food and staff! We drove in for the day to find good BBQ; this place did the job. I had the Nachos. He had the burnt tips, collard greens and cole slaw. Nothing disappointed. The staff welcomed our doggie with the biggest smiles. Would definitely come back...if we moved here. read more

This is a nice barbecue restaurant in downtown Bristol. Consistently good food. They also have live music some evenings. I would recommend giving it a try if you like BBQ. read more

The food tasted good, but the taste was outweighed by the overly high prices and the poor customer service. We paid almost $50 for two meals and I was given 2 hushpuppies as a side which I found to be a rip off since my husband got a whole plate of fries for his side. And when I asked about this, I was quickly dismissed and blamed for not ordering correctly rather than being given any sort of reconciliation. So I would not recommend this place because, despite their food tasting ok, their prices and customer service were so bad that it ruined the experience altogether. read more

Was not impressed. They were out of stuff. We ordered the burnt ends and they informed us they were out while delivering our meal. They were an appetizer and said they have one of us an extra piece of brisket. The burnt ends was a meal price and adding a brisket strip is not even close. Then came out asked if we order greens. Oops sorry we are out. We brought you some Cole slaw. People outside smoking. Was awful expensive for no food, out of stuff and bad environment Pass. read more

We were antiquing in Bristol and saw this place. We were excited that Tuesday was Cajun day! They had a full menu of great options. They unfortunately were out of oysters, so go early if you are going! I had the popcorn crawfish with fried okra and baked beans. My wife got the fried catfish with slaw and fries. Everything was excellent! The topper was having one dollar PBR drafts. We had not had a PBR in a very long time, but enjoyed them. The fries were like steak fries but with a twist (see photo). The comeback sauce was an excellent compliment to all the food. I really enjoyed the baked beans, especially after having dry baked beans the night before, these were just right! They have a fabulous bbq menu as well. BBQ sauces are on the table. We will definitely be back! read more

Definitely found this disappointing I'm sad to say. The meats (I had both pulled chicken and pork) barely had any smoke to them, they have lemonade on the menu but the checkout lady acted like we were nuts trying to order it, and the collards I had were sandy (not washed well) and served - a real watery side dish - in a cardboard container that fell apart before I was done. The okra batter was unseasoned and too much of it. Hubs did like his pimento burger and fries - especially the fries - better than I liked the BBQ, but for a BBQ place that's a bit more of a dig than a compliment I think. The sauces were pretty decent, just would have preferred tastier meat to start with. I had to drown it in sauce to get some flavor. Not awful but the good reviews had me expecting more - not to mention there's really tasty BBQ all around the area so I feel like you gotta try harder in that specialty. I'm guessing they bank on live music more than the food. I dunno, but not likely we would go back. read more

Came here last summer while vacationing in the area. We stopped in for an early dinner just off the smell walking by. The food is amazing. We were lucky enough to have the special fried pimento cheese appetizer. It was so good. We basically ordered everything on the menu from pulled pork, chicken, brisket and fall off the bone ribs. My wife doesn't normally like ribs but when I picked it up and the meat fell off she had to try it. We sat outback on what I assume is a new deck area they built and you can see all the wood and the smoker. They have a stage outback also for music and such. The staff inside was super welcoming and funny. Also the potato salad is something they should market. It's insanely good. read more

Brisket was dry and overcooked. Way too much buffalo seasoning on the corn, had to scrape off with the toast to eat. Bbq beans were good, needed bacon or chopped up bits of meat. Sauces were good all around but really nothing stood out. The best part was the "help" spraying us along with the table to clean it. Nothing says lunch like the intoxicating smell of bleach to accompany your bbq. read more

Smoked chicken wings!! I ordered Buffalo dry rub and Cajun dry rub. Off-the-charts deliciousness! Blue cheese and three small pieces of celery. Great service. Dog-friendly patio. One star off because I had to go inside to order. It would be great if they could accommodate outside orders. Maybe that's available through their website--this thought just occurred to me. This restaurant is on state street where Virginia and Tennessee meet. How are you out of ribs and wings for the lunch rush on a holiday weekend? Then serve dry brisket in the south. The saving grace was the burger, great smoke flavor but an average fried corn side. Everyone on the table enjoyed the fries and the sausage and the pulled chicken and pork were good. I guess we had too high of expectations for some good Tennessee BBQ. read more

Traveling and stopped for a quick bite. Now I am a Texas gal who happens to live near Kansas City so barbeque has to be darn good to impress me as well as my guy. He had a brisquet sandwich, I am the pulled pork. Both large as we had eaten since 9 am. So much brisquet, he took it off the bun (hidden in the picture) and ate with his fingers. Sauce on the side as he likes. The pulled pork was piled high....yummy. Handmade potato chips were okay. Two sandwiches less than $16.00! If you ever are in the area and want barbeque, stop here... absolute heaven. read more

Ok so we came back to Cajun Tuesday! These oysters have blown me away! I have had oysters up and down the East coast even from the gulf and I have to say these are the best I've ever had! We tried Delta Blues for the first time today for lunch and it was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful and had a great attitude. I got the burnt ends and brisket. The brisket was delicious and some of the best I've had. The burnt ends were very tender and moist with a little fat but still tasty. My wife got the salad which she said was very fresh. I also really liked their house bbq sauce, just the right mix of flavors. read more

First time to the location! We came on Tuesday because of the Cajun special. We drove an hour just for this particular occasion and got there around 5pm and they were already sold out of oysters! The food was great! Portion sizes could have been a little larger. But we were pleased with the flavors and I love their spicy BBQ sauce! We will return! read more

The ribs were excellent. However, my brisket was really dry and I had to eat it with my baked beans. Thursday night music was absolutely amazing inside and the place was packed. We had a dog so we ate outside. My wife unfortunate the brisket wasn't good because my life partner loved his ribs! read more

Best BBQ in Bristol!! Great selection, friendly service, live music is tops, and a great time. We enjoy dropping in or grabbing to go as the service is always fast, the food is always moist and tasty, and the banana pudding , you will enjoy! We got take out last night and the food was still hot when we got it home! I love the brisket, collard greens, and slaw or beans. My wife really likes the pulled pork, fried okra and corn on the cob. You get plenty to eat!! read more

The wings were huge, meaty and juicy. The Foghorn Leghorn chicken sandwich was the thickest peice of chicken I've ever seen on a bun. The sidewinder fries were unique and yummy. The onion rings were great!! The dining room was very clean and so were the bathrooms. Plenty of condiments on the tables, too. My only *meh* is the cheap sysco cutlery. Just a nit. The people at the table next to us were raving about their burgers and hot dogs. Stop by!!

I went into this place tonight to listen to a young man I seen from the window playing a piano. Walked in and the atmosphere was incredible! People were smiling and the food smelled delicious. The line was a little long but I thought " if the food and music is as good as I see and hear I'll wait ". I was greeted by a friendly smile by a long haired young lady who took my order and explained to me the menu. I wish I could've got her name. She was sweet. I got the choose 2. Fair price for 2 meats, 2 sides, & toast. I also enjoyed a much ultra. She handed me a number and I went to wait for my food at a table that opened up. When I got my seat I was able to enjoy the young talented man playing. The board said his name was TJ. May pop in again to see him perform if he goes back there. After a little while (they were busy) my food came out. I was greeted by a beautiful short haired girl. I asked her name because I couldn't not. Her name was Kenzie and she had a great smile and personality. She made me feel welcomed, wanted , and most of all made sure I didn't need anything else. The brisket was phenomenal and so was the sausage. My slaw and beans were up to par for southern food. I ate and enjoyed my beer and music and left shortly after. Very nice place. Very nice service.
