Stopped here with a group of 6 teenage girls and 4 adults while passing through on the interstate. Convenient access, and the girls all loved the vibe of state street and the restaurant itself. My wife and I decided to try this place out for the first time. We split the 5 meat platter and we dined in. We had brisket, ribs, burnt ends, smoked chicken, and the smoked pork, house made chips, okra, and toast. The good - The restaurant was clean and the staff cleaned up quickly after someone left. There were not many diners eating in while we were there, probably 5 tables at the most. We did see a lot of to go orders. Our food came out fast, which was a surprise. The meats probably tasted better than any barbecue place around this area. The flavor was great without the barbecue sauce. They have a very sweet barbecue sauce that I really liked. I thought they had good prices on their beer selections. The bad - Our food was barely warm. All of the meats had the temperature of getting it to go and still having to stop at the grocery store on the way home and then eating. The okra was the only thing on the plate that was hot. The chips were not even remotely warm and were hard. The slice of toast that came with the plate was still white and the butter wouldn't soak in. It was inedible. They need to do something about their front door. With people coming in and out, and it being wooden, it slams constantly with that grandmother's house door sound. I am surprised that the glass doesn't break. It was really annoying to hear that bang/scrape sound every few minutes. You wouldn't believe how many people we saw struggling to open the door as well. I spoke with some family members that stop here often and they said that the food temperature situation, was not normal for here and that I should have sent it back. FYI, I do not have very good luck sending things back. I would probably just work something out on the bill. We will probably try this place again just because of the taste of the food. I will have to rethink eating in versus to go. If I take it home than I can heat it up if needed. The taste of the food, on this visit, was worth 4.6 stars. The things listed above brought it down to a 2.5-3 star, the chips and bread was a real head scratcher. read more

We went on 2/03/24. The brisket was dry and had no taste. The burnt ends were OK, but they came drenched in too much sauce. The pork rinds were good and crispy. The pimento cheese was dry and hard to spread. Not some place we would ever go back to. It was more like a fast food restaurant where you place your order at the counter, and you get your own drinks. We had the Nacho Blues and Smoked Wings. Both of them were really good. They could have had a larger serving of nachos, but that's just being picky. The wings were plenty. My girls had kid burgers and they were satisfied with their meal. The kids meal includes a drink which is always a plus. I'd like to try the pulled pork the next time we come. Everything we've had here is phenomenal. Pulled pork, smoked chicken, Mac n' Cheese is solid gold. Nachos kicked ass. I even liked the slaw. The salad had super fresh, amazing produce too. I'd recommend adding it to the pulled pork sandwich. Wasn't able to try the brisket cause they were out. Loved the sauces... Carolina was my favorite. Oh... ranch was perfect. Went there today, and immediately was greeted with the smoke smell of delicious bbq! We got the tray of 5 meats and 2 sides. Initially I was disappointed by the portion sizes. Close to $50 was expecting more, but all the meats were DELICIOUS. We got burnt ends, ribs, smoked chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. The fried okra was really good, but the Mac n cheese lacked any flavor. I was super impressed with this place and can't wait to go back. I just won't order the Mac n cheese again, lol read more

Went here a couple of weeks ago and the food we had was very disappointing. I ordered the burnt ends with baked beans and collard greens. The food was ready in about 5 minutes after I ordered, and it was over cooked and dried out. Delta Blues used to have good food but not now. I'm definitely what I would call a picky eater when it comes to pulled pork so going in I had very high expectations. Well, this was some of the very best food I've had. The collard greens are true Southern fare and the pork rinds are out of this world (I like Lemon Pepper). The live music is also so fun! This wasn't around when I lived in Bristol, so I wanted to try it out when I passed through town. We had a Southwest salad, burnt ends, Delta burger, side of the homemade chips, beans and a kids chicken with Mac n cheese. All of the food was good. Wife wasn't find of the house ranch and the blue cheese dip tasted like a creamy blue cheese from a bottle. I wouldn't get it again. The burnt ends didn't remind me of burnt ends I've had in Memphis (2-3 times a year) but weren't bad. The sauces were tasty. House sauce was fantastic. Wife really liked the smoked chicken on the salad. My mom enjoyed her burger and house chips. Our 2 kids devoured their kids plate. The sweet tea was delicious. At first, I didn't like the atmosphere. I'm not a fan of outside light being the main light source, but by the end of the meal, it grew on me. It really gave this vibe of being in a blues joint in the Delta. Overall, is recommend it for a meal. It's not my favorite BBQ, but I'm spoiled living in St. Louis and visiting the Delta and Memphis throughout the year. read more
