He spent about 10 minutes working and leaves us with a bill of 95.00 just to tell us it was the magnatron and it can't be fixed. When we made arrangements to have it fixed. This company misrepresents itself. It is a one-man show. The "technician/owner" is totally disorganized -- returns calls randomly. One time, he had me come back from work early because he was coming to my home, but he never showed up, claiming he had confused my number for that of another. I have serious doubts on this person's technical abilities. My experience with a stove top repair I had him do is that he goes for the "easy/expensive" path repair -- change the electronic boards before even looking at other possible failure points --- e.g., simple fuses. In my specific case, his lack of attention to detail and carelessness caused him to damage an oven control board. He scrambled in trying to fix his mishap through a number of unsuccessful subsequent visits, claiming to be returning with new parts and claiming to be knowing what he was doing. This led to me being without an oven for several weeks, and no solution from Mara after several weeks, until I had to call upon an alternate professional who fixed the problem with one visit. Unsurprisingly, Mara Appliances did not own the responsibility for the damaged oven control board and left me with having to cover the additional repair expenses. I obviously have nothing good to say about this business and its single operator. My recommendation is stay away at all price.

They are one of those 1-800 businesses that just send technicians who don't know what they are doing out to scam people's money. Their address is a PO Box located at the UPS store in the Garden City Shopping Centre. Their phone number starts with the same six numbers 604-757-xxxx as a reputable local company - talk about passing off. They are here to prey on the Asian community in Richmond, otherwise they could have set up shop in Vancouver, Burnaby or Coquitlam. I wanted to support a local business when my washer broke down on a Saturday afternoon. I did not want to deal with someone like this but I did not do my due diligence of looking up their corporate registration and address. So here is what happened: I called for a washer repair, waited four days for an appointment. The guy came out spent 10 minutes, charged $85, told me there are no parts for the machine. He knew I would need a replacement but did not bother to tell me the size of my washer. I called and texted him to ask for this info about 10 minutes after he left but no response. I called customer service and they give me the attitude. They even told me to look at the "sticker" myself. If I had a sticker I would not need to call them. They seem to think I enjoy calling them. I said if they would just tell me the size of my washer I swear I will never call them again. I hate these people. They still were not able to tell me the size of my washer. Some guy from Alberta finally called and said that no one is able to do this. This is a flat out lie because any reasonably competent appliance repair technician would be able to tell from a very simple elementary school formula the size of the tank for the washing machine. So avoid at all costs, these people do not know what they are doing and are out to scam the community. Beware.
