After numerous and lengthy delays in completing my vehicle repair, Gerber agreed to pay for another rental car because the repair time had exceeded my 30 days of insurance coverage. Despite their commitment to pay, I was charged by Enterprise because they couldn't get billing info from Gerber. This is crazy to me since Gerber made the reservation but whatever. Two months and countless phone calls later I've received repeated promises to call me back that never materialize, but no refund. If I had a Time Machine I would have taken my car anywhere else. Unless you want your vehicle stolen, do not go here!!!!!!. My truck underwent some bodywork here, and upon completion, the attendant insisted that I personally retrieve it from their location despite being 2 and a half hours away. She assured me she would leave the keys in my vehicle for easy pickup. To my dismay, when I arrived at the spot where it was parked later on, someone had broken into the car and stolen said key(s). Naturally alarmed by this situation, I implored management to move or secure the truck until further notice.  The manager was quick to dismiss any responsibility; instead of offering solutions or consolation regarding my predicament all I got back were excuses as to why nothing could be  done to move the truck in a secure location. Then the manager even suggested acquiring a steering wheel clamp implying how naive & dumb this ineffective intervention would be, because they already had my keys! More appalling, She did not show actual concern with the fact that my truck got stolen. In light of these events, I requested footage from there surveillance cameras only for them to inform me - "oh sorry camera systems are down". The day after, my truck was predictably missing as the thieves had access to my keys. I returned to speak with the manager once again and hear her explanation. However, she refused any responsibility and offered no solution for the predicament I found myself in. Despite being painfully aware that my keys were stolen just a day earlier, it seemed irrelevant to her duties or sense of empathy towards me as a customer. Her attitude quickly turned unpleasantly rude and disrespectful towards me. It's baffling how she can ignore such insidious actions performed under her watchful eye without issue on an ethical level. The fact remains: having done nothing whatsoever toward preventing thefts from taking my truck, is shockingly unacceptable within this industry; especially since their primary job is helping ensure consumers car/trucks get repaired and returned to them safely to them and that these matters are taken seriously! This establishment is not taking responsibility for the theft of a truck, and therefore, the manager should be terminated from their position and held accountable for the incident. It's incredibly disheartening to admit, but their cameras were not working and they refused to take responsibility for the negligence that ultimately resulted in my truck being stolen. I hope that these individuals are able to sleep at night, and that no one else is subjected to the utter BS that I had to endure. read more

I was supposed to pick it up last Thursday, called them that day as I was driving to drop off my rental and was told (after getting their voicemail 6 times and continuing to call) it would DEFINITELY be ready the next day. I scheduled an appointment to have my car estimated. It was a small dent on the bumper. It took 2 weeks to get an appointment for an estimate. I went there and had to wait awhile and finally the guy came out. He said he was going to give me a high quote in case there was other damage he did not see. I told him we wanted the option to pay out of pocket so asked for an estimate as well for just the damage on the bumper and then he could give me an estimate for possible damage not seen. He said that would be hard to do and would take some time. Instead of waiting I asked to have the quote sent to me. He would not give me an estimate on how long it would take either I never heard from him again. Never got my quote. Very disappointed in their service or lack there of. I am giving them one star because they took my daughter's car to assess the damage. Yes it was totaled. But when my daughter went to get her possessions out of the car a few days later, she found the car parked on the street in front of the shop--- unlocked. No surprise, all of her stuff had been stolen out of the car! After I talked to her service rep at Gerber, she seemed dismissive to the fact the things were stolen and suggested since the car was towed there, it may have been the tow truck driver. The tow truck driver left the shop before my daughter did the day of the accident. I'm moving to the area and am going to steer people toward other shops. If you'd like to risk your car parked out in front of their shop unlocked, feel free to take your chances. One of the worst, most anxiety inducing experiences in my life, and it's still going. In brief; car in the shop 2 months for repair of two side panels. 2 months! Took 2 weeks to get claim adjuster and to order parts, so just sitting there doing nothing, okay. Then a whole month goes by with updates of, "we are in the middle of the repair,"....also okay. Then the last two weeks are just pure hell - "we have not been able to repair one of the panels, it's back ordered indefinitely"...why was it not ordered in the first place? Next week's update " we were able to get the panel fixed, but now the Rocker molding is on back order, we only have 2 out of 6 parts". Why was this not ordered before? Next update...."we have the car in the detail shop". Great, that means we're close! The day it should be done....update, "we could not calibrate your car, the calibrator is not working". Are you F***king kidding me!!! So first Audi is the POS but now your stupid calibrator is not working? My car is sill in the shop and that is the only reason I have not set that building on fire. read more

If I could give six stars, I would. We have been working with Gerber for a month now after a car accident we were in right before Christmas. From dealing with the other driver's insurance to coordinating our rental car, Tim in estimating was nothing short of amazing. Nightmare from the first day to the end. Got me in with an estimate of $1,800.- just to hear from my insurance that the real estimate is 4,500.- and they totaled our car. I gave Gerber 3 stars because I had an awful experience with Glass America and Gerber sent me their direction (I highly suggest using another auto glass repair company). However, the employees at Gerber were extremely helpful when I showed up to their location and my newly "fixed" window was accompanied by broken window switches that worked perfectly beforehand. Susie at the front desk was extremely helpful, she spoke with Glass America and attempted to help me get a discount and did what she could to make the situation better. Tyler took initiative on fixing the parts that Glass America had broken and had me out of there with working switches in no time. I would give the customer service at Gerber 6/5 stars if I could! I made an appointment with an employee at this shop on the day of my accident. The guy on the phone was friendly and seemed clued in and I got an appointment for the following week. I made arrangements for the loaner car to meet me at the shop and when I arrived the the "receptionist" was aggressively confused. He told me I didn't have an appointment, refused to take my car and imagined that I had probably talked to the corporate HQ in Chicago stating "we don't take appointments made by corporate and we are only taking ______ insurance claims this week, not yours". Really? You could have called, texted or emailed to let me know how things work in your Jeremy Bearimy logic. Get your $#!T together Gerber! I phoned your physical address (double checked) and was given an appointment by one of your staff. I showed up with a smashed rear window and he not only crash-wrapped the gaping hole in my car, he also vacuumed out the broken glass, taking special care that none of the electrical connectors were damaged. I can honestly say that I went to the other Gerber location on Broadway and they didn't know if they were coming or going, however these guys have got it together. I got every question answered, and even answers to things I forgot to ask! They're skilled (my car looks new and drives great after a bad rear-end accident), but it's their customer service that made me simply not worry. They called when they said they would and if anything might be delayed, they let me know. But there was no delay, and the car was done exactly when they said. Gerber, and specifically Cory at Gerber, were fantastic!! Job was completed in a timely fashion and Cory kept me updated every step of the way, both with calls and emails. My son picked up his car from the Toyota dealer (who had sent the car to Gerber for the body work) and drove it home. When he arrived he saw the shield on the bumper once again was dragging. We were flabbergasted and I responded to Gerber's customer survey negatively. Within minutes of submitting my survey, Cory reached out and assured me that if they had made a mistake they would stand behind their work and fix whatever was broken. As it turned out, my son had bottomed out and broke the shield just that quickly. However, Cory was very accommodating and helpful and removed the shield and replaced a lightbulb lickity split, and my son was on his way within a short time. In today's automated world, it was refreshing to find a company that stood behind their work and were so accommodating when things went sideways.
