    5. New Yorker Sandwich
    Aja H.

The sandwiches were really good!! They were packed with meat and toppings that we selected. There was good bread to meat ratio and the sandwich was not soggy. The two stars is because, while we were ordering, the gentleman behind the counter was very rude. In the middle of my husband deciding, he proceed to the next customer. The next customer was very courteous and told the gentleman we were not done ordering. After ordering our sandwiches, we continued to shop around the store to bring stuff back to our hotel room. In the midst of shopping, we look over to the sandwich counter...Brace yourself...the gentleman was sitting on top of the microwave with his dirty a*s shoes on the counter!!!!! We kid you not!! When we made eye contact with him, he hopped down. We were so disappointed because our sandwiches were already ordered and paid for. Ugh! We would go back to shop for essentials but definitely would NOT eat there ever!!

This is a lovely little deli that came in clutch when I arrived in Seattle hangry and cranky. The gentleman working here is kind and made me a delicious sandwich that I enjoyed thoroughly at the table outside. I highly recommend!!

Great sandwiches, nice tasting bread. Half is definitely a little on the small side, wish I would have gotten a full. Overall was tasty and would recommend for sure!

Potato salad, pretty standard but good.

Happened to be in the neighborhood and I had not eaten all day. After I took care of my business looked for a place to eat. Decided on this place about a block away. A combination market and deli with a large selection of sandwiches and salad. The sandwich I got was generous and super tasty. I also got a side of potato salad that was also good. If you are in the area and in the mood for a sandwich this is an excellent choice. There are areas to eat inside and a very small area outside. There are numerous beverages to choose from.

Everything here is on point! I'll start with the owner...or the man at the counter. He just has a fantastic energy. Incredibly friendly, and great intuition and suggestions. Every time I've been in, it's been this same level of service. The store is also fantastic for a little corner bodega. Great variety. A grab and go section and let's not forget the amazing sandwiches. I've had the breakfast sandwich and a lunch sandwich and both were extremely fresh and delicious. The bread is yummy, and the meat and curse ingredients are high quality. Also they do not reheat premade breakfast sandwiches. They make them fresh while you wait. I'll be back!

The most underrated sandwich shop in Seattle! They make incredible, huge sandwiches that are way too inexpensive. I used to come here all the time when I worked nearby, and the "Italiano" sandwich is my favorite! I get the impression that it's family-owned, and the staff are warm and very welcoming. I hadn't got in over a year, but the clerk still remembered me and wanted to make sure I had their punch card! He's always pretty exuberant and you can tell he loves his job. Other than that, they have a huge selection of wine from cheap to luxury and in between. They have a myriad of snacks, drinks, etc. Pretty much everything you'd want in a sandwich shop/convenience store. The full-size Italiano sandwich is just about $8.50 after tax - what a steal! Usually lunch in this neighborhood is $13+ and lower quality! Keep doing what you're doing, Stella's!

Cajun turkey sub was great, would absolutely go back to this gem tucked away in a local neighborhood market.

My new favorite spot for deli sandwiches. Just don't order the half sandwich. It will waste your time and money.

This place is such a little gem in Lower Queen Anne. It's got that local bodega feel. Good wine selection, and great sandwiches.

Really good sandwiches!…read more I was visiting Seattle for work and during my break, I decided to go to the Armory for lunch. This was certainly a great choice, the food is excellent! I had their Philly Cheesesteak, which was awesome. Everything is cooked to order, so there is a slight wait after ordering, but it is certainly worth it. There are also seats and tables outside of the spot for you to eat at, it's shared with a few other restaurants. If you really want an exciting time, eat there while a Zumba is going on! Then you can people watch while enjoying your food.

Located in the Seattle Center Armory, along with many other food vendors, Big Mike's Sandwich Company is serving up huge cheesesteaks, chopped cheese, and other East Coast-style subs. For $25, I picked up the cheesesteak and fries combo. Not a terrible price for the portion. Waited about 10-15 minutes for the sandwich to come out. You order on a tablet here, and then they call your name. It's a small storefront, so you really have to stay nearby to hear your name being called in the large space that is the Armory. Not much interaction with staff. Plenty of seating throughout the Armory, though shared with other restaurants. The food came out piping hot. Obviously, they cook everything fresh to order because the inside of the fries was like lava. The fries were thick-cut and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was good. I thought some pieces of the steak were a bit tough, and the roll seemed a bit over-steamed or possibly stale. A good sandwich and decent portion, nonetheless. I'm still going 5 stars here. I think Big Mike's is a great choice if you want a hearty, meat-filled sandwich and you happen to be in the area. However, I think you could be happy with another dining option in the Armory, too. My kids loved the MOD Pizza nearby. While there isn't anything wildly unique going on at Big Mike's, they are still pushing out great sandwiches at reasonable prices with a no-frills ordering process.

For this visit, i came here on a Saturday noon after finding literally everywhere else I wanted to eat at full or plagued by long lines. I mean here also has long lines but it goes by quick. Staff are proactive on grabbing your stuff, toasting them if you want them to, and bringing out your orders after paying. There's a ton of sandwich options, and all are on display along with their ingredients. You can either get half a sandwich for $7 or a whole one for $13, and there are other baked goods like baked potatoes, pasta bake and shepherd's pie. Seating consists of wall seating that you need to bus yourself. and water and napkins are self-serve. I got half of a roasted beef and gorgonzola sandwich, and my bestie got half of a crispy chicken sandwich. We also shared a chicken and parmesan pasta bake, all of which we asked to be toasted. - My bestie's crispy chicken sandwich's chicken could have been more crispy. There wasn't too much pepper seasoning on it either. - The chicken and parmesan pasta bake tasted more like mac and cheese, and wasn't the best. - The real winner for both of us was my roasted beef and gorgonzola. Normally I don't enjoy blue cheese because of how pungent it tastes, but this sandwich - along with the nicely caramelized onions - gave a fresh, savory taste and even enhanced the flavor profile of the roast beef for both of us. My bestie went back at a later time just to have their roasted beef and gorgonzola, so it's clear we have a favorite here! I'm down to find more favorites and go-tos in future visits.

We ordered the Meatball Sub and Eggplant Sub with marinara sauce. Both sandwiches were flavorful and satisfying. The meatball sub was hearty and comforting, while the eggplant sub had a rich marinara sauce that worked well with the sandwich. We were especially disappointed that the Cubano was sold out, as it was one of the main reasons we stopped by. The only drawback was the price--at around $20 per sandwich, it felt a bit expensive for what you get, especially considering it was just a 6-inch sub, even though the quality was good. We visited during a FIFA World Cup match, so the line was quite long, but it moved steadily and efficiently. No complaints there. The atmosphere is casual and straightforward, with indoor seating only. Its downtown location near the stadiums makes it a convenient spot for a quick meal before or after an event. Overall, a good sandwich shop with quality food, though the pricing keeps it from being a must-visit. I'd still come back to finally try that Cubano.
