Three strikes you're out! First of all, my family and I went there for a nice dinner about a year or two ago. The food was absolutely horrible. The fish was dried out, and the spinach was drenched in butter, and super soggy. My daughter's french fries and hot dog were burnt. My husband was not fond of his meal either. So, about several months ago, we decided to try it again. We walked in the door, and it was noticeably busy. We waited for a little bit, and finally was asked how many people. We told the lady that there are six of us. We were told that "we don't have room for you now, and you will just have to sit in the lobby." Well, that was that, and we left. That was completely rude to say it the way she did. The last straw was today when I went there with my best friend. We walked inside, and nobody acknowledged us at all. My friend finally asked if we could seat ourselves (to the lady at the register). The lady did not even look up to acknowledge us. She then said it again. One waiter finally said that we can sit wherever we want. So, we proceeded to sit at one of the booths. The waiter came over to us and asked if we want a menu. I was dumbfounded. I looked at him with a perplexed face, and said "uh yeah." Then, he said "what do you want to drink?" He never said hello or introduced himself. He basically made it seem as though we were a bother. He was just so rude. So, we just got up and told him we are leaving. My best friend and I went somewhere else where we were treated with better customer service. Sorry, Deluxe. Amazing authentic Greek food for a super affordable price. I suggest you don't even open the menu & just order from the Greek specials sheet they set on top. Absolutely favorite diner in all of Berks County! My fiancé turned me onto this establishment! The staff is always soooo friendly and welcoming! There is a ton of parking (there's a hotel right there as well). The prices are hard to beat, especially for the amount of food you get. They have good food besides the breakfast menu. I used to have breakfast there at least once a week. I have not been there for almost a year and have no plans to ever go back. I got tired of feeling sick after every greasy breakfast. Eggs are runny, bacon half cooked, home fries tasteless and pale. The creamed chip beef was always salty and the pancakes are right out of a box. We celebrated my mom's surprise 85th birthday party here on Saturday, April 27 and had a wonderful time. It's her favorite place to eat. I've never had a bad meal here. This was one of the most disappointing food experiences we've had. Most of the food was down right not good and it came out cold. French toast wasn't cooked all the way and was soggy. Eggs, potatoes, and the gravy we got were flavorless and cold. Most of the food was uneaten and thrown away. Half of our food came out a long while after the first part came out. I will say the server was obviously overwhelmed, but she was very nice. Under normal circumstances i'm sure her service would be perfect. When we complained to the lady at the front she was very apologetic and called the owner over. The owner said sorry in a very impatient tone and walked away. My wife (surprised she still is after taking her here) stopped for lunch otw to Philly area from Pittsburgh. I will be quick with my summary... Walk in, 5 waitresses standing around talking. No one comes to table until we ask. Menu is 9 pages long, greek emphasis. Wife ordered burger, frozen patty that was microwaved..I had the gyro, also was frozen and nuked. Fries were not cooked at all. Soup was ok. Hideous food and service overall. Sad place. I would keep driving if in the area. Go to WaWa. read more

I am so over this place. Have been here several times over 10 yrs and it just gets worse. They continue to have ice water uncovered right inside the door (look up health department surveys they have been cited!) Which, if you taste it tastes like a dirty dishrag. Our thoughts were correct....BAD FOOD & BAD SERVICE...this place should make one last meal and close their doors... just to start! THE WORST FOOD we have ever had! First we were seated in a both and then two glasses of water were brought to the table and were the SMALLEST I have ever seen!! One was only half full and the lemons were nasty and dried up! Ordered 2 of the Hot Roast Turkey Sandwich with potaoes & gravy. Waitress asked if we wanted cranberry sauce also, we said sure. When the food finally came out we just looked at each other because we were so shocked , a 4" by 4" slices of bread with mostly dark meat & very little white meat with a small amount of gravy on the sandwiches! Mashed potatoes were like soup and the gravy was heavier than the potatoes & like it had been sitting because it had a film over it! Then the tini tiny paper cup ( like a party favor cup) had about a tablespoon of chopped up cranberry sauce! RIDICULOUS!! This was something I would be ASHAMED to serve anyone and I CAN cook much better than this restaurant.....we were also told after we paid and were asked how the food was, that you have to specify you want all white meat and & then that is $1.00 extra charge! NO WHERE on the menu is that stated for the consumer to be made aware of that fact! STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!!! I hate this place. I just go there mostly because the person that I'm with wants to go there. How this place has more stars than Wyomissing Family Diner is beyond my comprehension. I've only been there for breakfast and the reviews about the Kraft cheese that they slap on omelettes are true. Their home fries suck. No flavor whatsoever. I've been there by myself 3 times just to give them a few chances, but each time, they overcharged me by a few dollars, my guess is because I was by myself. They also took away my plate while food was still on it. The next time the person that I'm with wants to go there, I'm making him drive to Wyomissing Family Diner or the West Reading Diner which is good as well. Just moved to the area, so I wanted to find a good restaurant nearby. Unfortunately, this was not it. All of the employees were nice, but the waitress spilled water on my son as soon as we got there. Then my husband tried to order 3 different beers from their menu and they were out of all of them. I ordered a monte cristo and most places make it about the same. This one, unfortunately, was just bland and greasy - I don't recommend. Then I found a black inch long hair in my sandwich. (Nobody in my party had black hair). The burgers my kids ordered were dry and didn't have a scrap of lettuce or anything else served with them - just bread and meat. The fries were extremely dry and tasted like they had been sitting out all day. The place mats your food is served on were advertising head stones - not appetizing to me. The only reason I give this place 2 stars instead of 1, is that the employees were nice and the prices were low. read more
